The past 2 years I have spent thousands of dollars on tools from Harbor Freight! In just the past 2 weeks, I bought their car detailing products!! Crazy timing of you doing this video 😃.
Of all the car detailer channels I've watched, yours is the most helpful for the novice DIY'r. I've purchased car wash items based off your recommendations and they work for my level of skill. Thanks for that!
Awesome as usual, Josh. Great you do these videos. Thanks for being different than the majority of TH-cam folks. Anyone can show the most expensive items on the market. By far the best.
Great video Josh. I love Harbor Freight. It's like a toy store for older dudes. I have a bunch of their products that you talked about and have been happy with all of them. I'll have to pick up that paint-inspecting light now.
The Bauer short throw goes on sale under $40 all the time. Crazy good deal. My favorite purchase is the grants detailing seat and I wish they had detailing brushes.
5:19 Tried those towels out for the heck of it, and they linted like crazy. Purple and green too, the green especially stands out against almost any paint color. I had washed and air-dried them before use too.
Thanks for all the good info. About to build my nephews a truck set up for there first job to run around in summer in New York. And wash cars. I train them of course. Most of my knowledge came from you. ❤❤❤
That Grant micro fiber drying towel is great. Walmart used to be the least expensive place for detailing products, but not now. Thanks a lot Kamla and Joe.
I have a bunch of those gray foam floor tiles in my garage (woodworking hobby). Some got damaged and replaced, but I keep them around. Awesome for padding things in your car, OR I use them a lot if I need to lay in the driveway working on the car, or when I swap out ,y winter wheels I lay the wheels face down on them to wash the inside. Can’t hurt em… it’s ok if dirt gets in them, much better than cardboard if you need to lay stuff out to clean them. I know it’s not typical detailing stuff, but I use them working on the car a lot.
Thank you for your time making this video; those who shop at HF will find this informative....I'm just not one of them. Keep up the great content coming.
Thanks 😊 I purchased the swivel gun and the 25 ft pressure washer hose based on your reviews. Very pleased with both products 😊. You really explain the pros and cons accurately and fairlly. Your channel is my go to for honest accurate information!
I work at an auto parts store......I've tried 23 different wheel cleaners. The meguiars ultimate all wheel has tested by far the best for non agitation cleaning so far.
I've bought a lot of detail items based on your videos. A couple years back, I bought a lot of accessories from Amazon to upgrade my 1750 pressure washer, works great. Got the dirt guard, drying towel, edgeless mf towels and Meguiars ceramic spray wax from HF.
I use the hyper wash for the exterior, wheels and tires also, 1 oz in a 32 oz spray bottle with water for that application, hyper wash has a 400:1 dilution ratio so it can last you dozens and dozens of washes, only like $30 for the gallon.
Actually the parking lot sale has been going on since Monday 8/12 but only Inside Track Club members could get the sale prices. That's OK cuz ITC is only like $25/year and it paid for itself with 1 big purchase. AND the best part is, if you're an ITC member, you have less of a chance of some item you've wanted being sold out when the sales open up to the public.
I have to chime in on the blowers/shop sweepers they are clutch with drying modern car grills, mirrors, and headlights. You can do just fine with a shop sweeper but most of these kits do not include a battery which will increase the cost to around $130.00 depending on the capacity you select. Lastly the harbor freight pressure washer hose and gun upgrade are worth picking up, but be advised that you may have to ask staff to check in the back since they're still new and may not have them on the store shelves yet.
Yea all new items trickle in to stores pretty slowly it seems. My stores finally have them out but that a good point for people. Just ask and they are usually in the back!
i had the 2000 psi PW. bought it for cleaning at my camper, and had no complaints about it. wasnt very loud, and was plenty of power for washing my camper. the ppl that bought our camper said they wanted it, and selling was tough with current interest rates, so i let them have it lol. i have the short throw DA, just for waxing, and it works well. compounding and polishing duties are handled by my ancient milwaukee corded rotary...im old school. i started detailing in 95. remember with compressors, that you really want a belt drive, if you can swing the extra cost, as they are quieter, and longer lasting, not to mention that you can replace any components that die! great video! wish it was longer! ive been toying with the idea of one of these HF challenge videos, but getting the cheap rotary polisher, and sprucing up a totally roached paint job. also please give you thoughts on the cyclone separator? thx!
That wash mitt is a dead ringer for the Chemical Guys one. Works great, as do the grit guards. Had great luck with the drying towels too. I'd like to see some detailing brushes next 👍
Great content man. This really helps me. I love my motorcycle and want to make it look good, but I love my kids more, and the money I save means I can do more for/with them.
Great video! The Meguires wheel cleaner (which I use) is substantially cheaper at HF compared to the major auto parts stores! Like $3 per bottle cheaper, I am buying it from HF going forward!
My local Harbor Freight has the most chinsy selection of detailing products-especially those Grants towels…I’ve NEVER seen those at my local store…so unfortunate lol -great review Josh!!
If you have a Costco get the yellow ones in I think it’s a 30 pack there the softest ones I could find and I used them at a shop in Scottsdale that did everything from barret Jackson cars and multi million dollar cars they work great with a simple light lubricant like speed shine from griots
Yea the gloves are great. I usually just go with the 5mil personally to save costs and im really only using them for all purpose cleaners and dressings. But the 9mil are nice and dont rip as often
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
They need to add a twisted loop drying towel and dedicated iron remover that is stronger than the Megs all wheel cleaner. They got good stuff though and great value with coupons and sales. Those Grants edgeless towels are my go to.
Great video Josh! The Bauer DA short throw polisher is $35 during their parking lot sale this weekend (ends 8/18/24). I really like the new purple and yellow microfiber towels!
Nice information Josh. I haven't been to a Harbor Freight in about a year, but I had no idea they had all these new products surrounded around detailing. I guess I am going to need to visit my local Harbor Freight and see what's the latest and greatest in the store! Thanks for posting.
Josh, thanks for covering China Freight as some of their stuff is actually decent nowadays unlike in years past where it was flea market items everywhere and price point for the DIY guy is definitely a plus. On another note; on your site currently and looking to snag the 5L Koch Chemie Active Foam but it's sold out. 1L is on hand but prefer the 5L for obvious reasons price point per liter and not having to have multiple bottles of the same smaller size when one larger bottle stores better. Any idea when you'll restock? Thanks again brother, appreciate all of your insight in the videos. Cheers!
Josh, another great, informative video. I've purchase so many of the products that you review & recommend. Enough go into business. Also your technique videos are good. I'd like to see more of them that are dedicated to the DIY detailers.
Great video! I’d like to see them get a better steam cleaner in! Or maybe even a little extractor or even just the extractor set up you can buy to hook into your wet/dry vac
The most important thing about HF is never buy anything for full price. They constantly have sales and deals going. I just loaded up on a bunch of car wash stuff during their 30% off anything under $20 sale.
Their cordless rotary is pretty nice. I think they use something very close to Vaseline as grease so I would change that right away. I use it to spin dry my pads.
How do you feel about Chemical guys? I was thinking about buying their products for polishing, but now this video has me on the edge. Which do you think will work best
Chemicals guys has some good products. They just get some hate for having so many products that do similar things. However, their compounds/polishes aren’t my favorite. I’d go with the meguiars m110 and m210
I bought the foam cannon when I first started the detail voyage. Added a new orifice and honestly have not needed to upgrade for over 2 years. Might contact you for an MJJC just for fun though.
I'd like to see you try Meguiar's Hyper wash through your foam canon. :) I'm just a detail hobbyist cleaning my truck and wife's car. I've decided to move away from the pricy soaps like Mr Pink & Ultimate Snow Foam and use Gold Class or Hyper Wash. Thanks!
I have a lwq pressure washer and looking to upgrade my pressure washer hose but no luck. I bought it off Amazon for $120. I can do various projects around my house with relative ease. I've already upgraded the wand and a couple 17 inch wands. Ive found the hose is more complicated to upgrade because of the fitting that connects to the pressure washer. I've seen your videos and really appreciate the knowledge of anything you do. I was hoping that you could help me. I contacted obsessed garage and they said it is a proprietary pressure washer hose. I guess they were saying that it can't be changed.
Those edgeless 16x16 towels are fantastic for everything i do except direct paint work. I'm sure they would be OK for that but interior, tires, glass, trim....they are excellent for the price. I've been using them for about 4 months and have laundered them multiple times and the edges are staying together VERY well. I've used them on other vehicle paintwork without issue but I have some RagCo Creatures that I love and are a bit thicker and a bit softer that feel better on clearcoat for my own vehicle.
MEGUIARS hyper wash is very dilutable.. great bang for the buck.. i use it for the wheel bucket... or when i do a bucket wash.. havent for a while tho, i migrated to hybrid wash.
Thank You Josh for the great content. Regarding the GritGuard, my gripe is that it floats, and when dunking the wash mit, im assuming the dirt overflows above the gritguard causing worse contamination to the mit, a review and your thoughts would be great... Thanx' for the informative content...
Good day Josh, Kindly do a comparison video between a garmet steamer (1800w Sokany garmet steamer) and a steam cleaner. As a prospective detailer I'm stuck between starting off with a garmet steamer then later on upgrading to a steam cleaner or I should just save money and buy steam cleaner? Sending Love from eSwatini (Africa) ❤
Hey Josh, is the Fortress compressor you mentioned good enough to run a Tornador? Looks like it’s a little under the CFM requirement but the 27 gallon is right on.
Hi Josh! Cool video and thanks for posting! Personally, I'd like to see Harbor Freight carry Turtle Wax products. I've no problem with Meguair's products, but I am partial to Turtle Wax's products, especially their Hybrid Solutions Line. Great quality at more affordable prices. Awesome combo!!
Hyper wash will be the best deal on soap because, the chemicals there are overpriced, besides the compound and polish. The Grant's noodle glove leaves a lot of material behind. The foam cannon leaves a lot to be desired. The Grant's towels are killer. Their tools are great on budget but, 1 is none and 2 is 1. The difference between the compressor is that 1 is oil-free. With the generator, you have to match it to your application. Peak power vs run power. Harbor Freight just needs more batteries powered lights (not rechargeable) and to..... KEEP STUFF IN STOCK!
i had been trying to get their gun and hose for months now and it is NEVER in stock. Had gone at least 10 times this summer and its never there at either of my local stores. Ended up just getting some stuff on amazon.
Hi there, i watched your videos all the and brought the wrong hose for the pressure washer because it quick connects already . I was just wondering if there is an adapter that can plug in the pressure washer and plug the new hose into??? Please
The Meguiar’s Gold Class was one of the worst wash products I’ve used, either with a bucket, foam gun or foam cannon. It just doesn’t give any decent amount of suds unless you use it straight up or a lot of it and even then it was mediocre.

Haha nice
Yeah I've been waiting a long time to buy a new foam cannon and it finally went on sale this week. I got that and the stubby. I'm satisfied so far
Nice!
Of all the car detailer channels I've watched, yours is the most helpful for the novice DIY'r. I've purchased car wash items based off your recommendations and they work for my level of skill. Thanks for that!
Thats great! Im happy the videos are so helpful Thanks for watching
Quick question Mr Josh. Do u still do detailing work?? And if so… where do we contact u??
Harbor freight isn’t cheap… I walk in wanting to get a screwdriver, I end up walking out with a cart full of stuff 😂
Haha that’s true I always buy I few thing I didn’t plan on
Earlier I walked in wanting some wrenches......I walked out with a damn Predator 5000W inverter generator 😂😂😂
Equivalent of target for tool lovers
Awesome as usual, Josh. Great you do these videos. Thanks for being different than the majority of TH-cam folks. Anyone can show the most expensive items on the market. By far the best.
I appreciate that!
I bought a stubby spray gun from Harbor Freight, 10/10 would recommend
Good pick up man.
Yep same here - built in swivel and locking handle, even when it's on, are great features. LOVE that thing
Its a great value!!!
Literally just washed my truck using all HF products (not including Adam’s detail spay that I use as a drying aid) and they did a great job.
The hot wheels and rims does a GREAT job really brings the rims back to life
5:19 Tried those towels out for the heck of it, and they linted like crazy. Purple and green too, the green especially stands out against almost any paint color. I had washed and air-dried them before use too.
Thanks for all the good info. About to build my nephews a truck set up for there first job to run around in summer in New York. And wash cars. I train them of course. Most of my knowledge came from you. ❤❤❤
I don’t detail cars or wash my own car. But Josh makes me want to buy everything and start .
I think he could sell ice to Eskimo’s 😅
ha thanks. I just try to cover things i think work well! They sell themselves i guess
@@imjoshvI have purchased products that you have reviewed and think your reviews are great. Thanks
I bought my 1st polisher (Chicago Electric)from them years ago. Its stillnrunning like a champ. Those 16x16 microfiber towels are fantastic. 👍
That Grant micro fiber drying towel is great. Walmart used to be the least expensive place for detailing products, but not now. Thanks a lot Kamla and Joe.

Thanks so much! Yeah harbor freight isn’t for everyone but in a pinch they have some great choices
Thanks 😊 I purchased the swivel gun and the 25 ft pressure washer hose based on your reviews. Very pleased with both products 😊. You really explain the pros and cons accurately and fairlly. Your channel is my go to for honest accurate information!
I'm a big fan of the edgeless microfiber towels at HF. Also love that they carry Meguiar's products.
me too!
I work at an auto parts store......I've tried 23 different wheel cleaners. The meguiars ultimate all wheel has tested by far the best for non agitation cleaning so far.
Yea it works really well> I have some others that i like a bit more, but that product is so easy to get that its a winner
the portland pressure washer works ok if you add some upgrades... upgraded to a better hose/ quick connects, and a yamatic wand. MUCH better!
This guy is an absolute detailing nerd, and I wish I had his knowledge. Mad jealous!
Haha thanks! Lots of years of gathering info!!
I've bought a lot of detail items based on your videos. A couple years back, I bought a lot of accessories from Amazon to upgrade my 1750 pressure washer, works great.

The bauer DA polisher is $34

Always love your budget minded videos! Don’t forget, nitrile gloves are 50% off this weekend too
such a good deal for those!
I bought the pressure washer hose (2 of them and connected them) and the pressure washer gun because of your reviews
Great content as always Josh. Your earlier review on the stubby gun was spot on as it’s been working great for me. Thanks again.
i had the 2000 psi PW. bought it for cleaning at my camper, and had no complaints about it. wasnt very loud, and was plenty of power for washing my camper. the ppl that bought our camper said they wanted it, and selling was tough with current interest rates, so i let them have it lol.

I've stopped going to lowes and hd for my car detailing needs. HF has almost all what I need to do the job right.
That wash mitt is a dead ringer for the Chemical Guys one. Works great, as do the grit guards. Had great luck with the drying towels too. I'd like to see some detailing brushes next 👍

CERAMIC COATING: I want Harbor Freight to carry a middle of the road performance but good value per dollar CERAMIC COATING
Harbor Freight has really come long way. Everything is priced right and it's decent quality.
Great video Josh! The Bauer DA short throw polisher is $35 during their parking lot sale this weekend (ends 8/18/24). I really like the new purple and yellow microfiber towels!
That’s an insane deal!!
I have used the meguiers no7 glaze available at HF. Awesome for inbetween wax jobs. Lasts typically 2 washes.
Harbor is really stepping it up. I hope they carry p&s or a similar full service brand soon. And also offer higher gpm pressure washer

Nice overview. Thumbs 👍

Another great video . Good options for the weekend warrior such as myself
Thanks for watching!
The harbor freight foam cannon's not bad. But if you're on a budget, the Chem-X cannons are probably the best deal.
I recommend Nord vpn, glad to see them as a sponsor.
One thing to note on the paint light. It only Has one color. Ones on Amazon that look identical for same price or less have 3 different shades
Great video Josh my biggest problem is where Harbor Freight is location a pain to get to love a lot of their products
Appreciate the video and the review. What is going on with that polisher brand behind you? Are you going to review it?
I have a lwq pressure washer and looking to upgrade my pressure washer hose but no luck. I bought it off Amazon for $120. I can do various projects around my house with relative ease. I've already upgraded the wand and a couple 17 inch wands. Ive found the hose is more complicated to upgrade because of the fitting that connects to the pressure washer. Was at harbor freight the other day.. I wish they had a cheap extractor or even the hose kit for an extractor
Harbor freight needs to add hand pump or electric foam sprayer. Hf bang for the buck will sell better than the garbage from no-names on Amazon.
just got a us general 5 drawer tool box today !
I’ve been eyeballing HF and like it, thanks Josh 👍😁

Can you change out the orifice on the foam cannon for better performance?
Any advice on dull clear coat? Do I need a bodyshop to sand and re shoot it?
Did you use deionized water or distilled water when you first started your detailing business
How about storage, shelves, toolboxes etc for these products

I just wanna know what those bottle holders are on the wall behind you.
How about the scrubber for your carpet with a drill
What's your thoughts on the graphene spray.. I believe made by black magic

Do those Bauer blows take Dewalt or Milwaukee batteries?

i had been trying to get their gun and hose for months now and it is NEVER in stock. Had gone at least 10 times this summer and its never there at either of my local stores. Ended up just getting some stuff on amazon.
