The fact that you are still dedicated to making videos like this when many others have quit is extremely admirable. Would you say this hyperlink system is the ultimate 'holy of holies' in vanilla survival minecraft? it certainly seems like it to me, as this combines like 5+ years of research and like ALL of the most technical glitches known. Absolutely mind-blowing and explained as well as it could be considering the complexity. I'm so glad that 0x's 'project horizons' from the prototech server is still remembered by some. what a project that was! good memories
Since starting this channel, I've changed microphone multiple times, and have discovered, that buying a better microphone does not reduce complaints about audio quality. The only thing that successfully reduces complaints about audio quality, is raising the volume. In my early videos I got complaints about being too quiet. Nowadays I raise the volume of all of my videos by 10 decibel, and people no longer complain about me being too quiet. But all other attempts to improve audio quality, like buying a new microphone, or using audio editing programs to remove background noise, do not seem to reduce complaints about audio quality at all.
@@myreneario7216 Actually, what I noticed was the audio maxing out / clipping (as far as I can tell), as if the mic was too close or oversensitive. So I guess the gain increase is working! xD And now that I go back and rewatch older videos, yeah it's way better now. Didn't mean to sound condescending, sorry bout that.
Awesome video I wonder how many people have done this legitimately in survival. This opens up a lot of opportunities for tech servers to make their choices irrespective of distance and the logistics of distance. Despite the effort it takes I think the reward is well worth it.
"I wonder how many people have done this legitimately in survival." There are currently roughly 15 survival worlds in which falling block exploits have been done legitimately (assuming there aren't many people doing falling block without ever posting anything on the threadstone discord), and at least 4 of those worlds have hyperlinks. Scicraft has hyperlinks: th-cam.com/video/UIs3pcWEuO8/w-d-xo.html ElRichMC's singleplayer world has hyperlinks, which he built without duping falling blocks: th-cam.com/video/faOchIYxjiM/w-d-xo.html aquarium smp got falling blocks in 1.12, then updated to 1.17 and then build hyperlinks: th-cam.com/video/U0-qMLr9YHk/w-d-xo.html And on the threadstone discord there is another guy called byel_s who managed to do hyperlink in singleplayer. There are a few servers like prototech and vastech which might have hyperlinks, but where I don't know it for sure. I know that they have the required falling blocks, but I don't know whether they've built hyperlinks yet.
Myren hyperlink video finally dropped 😮😮 great explanations as ever! hopefully I can convince 43ash to get back on our falling block save and set up hyperlinks soon lol. btw is this the final falling block episode at least until smth new is found (if smth new is found)?
Yeah, this is the final video which gets called a "Falling Block Episode". I might still make falling block related videos, but will probably not consider them to be part of this series.
Do you think there's any chance the falling block bug will reappear in a future version of minecraft, or has the minecraft architecture changed in such a way that it's unlikely?
If there will be any way to get unobtainable items in future versions, it will probably be very different from falling block. In 1.13 it might still be possible to do something similar but much more difficult. From 1.14 onwards stained glass no longer creates async threads, so you need to find a completely new way to create async threads that can access the world. From 1.18 onwards you cannot perform falling block swaps even if you have async threads replacing the falling block at the right time, so you need to come up with a completely new idea for getting unobtainable items.
Hey this is a very interesting topic. I have a few thoughts though. 1) How do you have a pentium processor? 2) Label your video into chapters, so people can easy navigate through this! 3) Is this your own invention? Did you call it 'hyperlink'? 4) Can you make a shorter tutorial to set it up?
Thanks for your constructive criticism. 1) The processor of my laptop is Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 4417U. I think I bought this laptop in 2019. Is there anything unusual about it? 2) I have now added timestamps to divide the video into chapters. 3) The basic idea for hyperlink is not by me. It was theorized in 2020 and 2021 during general falling block research. I believe the idea came mainly from Kerbaras and Xcom, but it is difficult to pinpoint individual contributions without having access to all relevant private discord chats. From the private discord chats to which I have access, it is not possible to determine who invented it, but Kerbaras is the one talking about it the most. The precise implementation details and falling block transportation methods in this video are by myself and JKM. 4) I could at some point make a shorter tutorial video for getting falling blocks and unobtainable items. But for hyperlink specifically, I don't think you can make a good tutorial much shorter than this video.
It's from this video: th-cam.com/video/cdekBxhfvys/w-d-xo.html When a stained glass thread finds a beacon it schedules the beacon to do something in the player phase. The action that the beacon does in the player phase cancels chunk unloading. After an autosave, the player phase comes before the chunks actually get unloaded, so this can be used to permaload chunks. Beacons are pretty much the only block in the game that can do something in the player phase without requiring any actual player input. The whole thing should be fixed in 1.14.

Imagine the world if just a fraction of this incredible effort went to purchasing a new microphone

Ultimate can confirm
Thought it was gonna be a quick video
wait, I have never seen this three beacon chunkloader. How does it work? is changing the beacon color somehow an event that keeps the chunk alive?
It's from this video:

When a stained glass thread finds a beacon it schedules the beacon to do something in the player phase. The action that the beacon does in the player phase cancels chunk unloading.
