Shoe Goo, E6000, hot glue, even thick C.A. applied to the edges of the band should keep the thing from shifting in use. With your skills a long time solution is to tweak the plane of the wheels to solve the problem. Even blue tape around the edges!
She's a beauty Jordan ! nicely done . It blows my mind that you're using a pair of fenders a side panels. I love how an artist's mind work , you see more than what's in front of you. Cheers from back home.
Excellent work on getting the rear to flow Jordan, some of the '30 ish sprint cars had the rear panel roll under and towards the diff and it looks good. I agree that once the exhaust is in place the side proportions will look right, eyes will be drawn to the pipes and the rivetted highlights not just the body as it is now. Cheers 👍
Looks great ,think your right to make more hood parts . I'm thinking paint top with slots and polished side ,but the option to change it up right way to go 👍🏴
It's looking great, I would probably put two bar's around the back for the push bar, so it want move up or down, all the best to you and your loved ones
Fascinating! I always judged my work by how much I just wanted to stare at it. If that was my project I’d be catatonic. Hard for me to imagine what you’ll accomplish with your whole life ahead of you.
that looks amazing with the roll of the rear and the seat hump. I think you are right the exhaust will break up the sides and finish the look. This is a joy to watch it taking shape. Many thanks.
If you intend to put a reverse scoop on the hood, you could put a short lip around the inlet end of the scoop to take advantage of the Kamm effect to help get air into the carburetors.
Jordan, you constantly amaze! The three dimensional shaping of the rear deck is phenomenal. You say you are learning metal shaping but I think you are brilliant at it. Scary what will happen when you get "good". The pipes will bring it all together I think. I love the car and I love your videos. Keep it up and fingers are crossed for that can to arrive.
I'm probably like you Stu..when Karl shows us how to do metal shaping, it seems to flow...when Jordan went to shape parts, I had no idea where to start (as a viewer haha) but he brought it together!
Looks great .i wouldnt worry about hood lines .its nicer than it would have been in the day.if you do remake hood i would move hole in top back slightly..with pipes and push bar it will be spot on.
Amazing work Jordan. It's looking absolutely awesome. I'm so happy that I found you through Karl (Make it Kustom) channel. You have lot of skills in metalshaping. I look forward to more new videos. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Slovakia 🙂
Looks fantastic you have given me several ideas on the way I want try on my build. You are going to use six pipes, three on each side, but I am using a four cylinder that I will use a four into one. Thank You
Absolutely killer video. leave the hood it’s looks fine. Especially with your time frame if you have time at the other end you can go back. It looks like an Art Deco style steam engine. Your doing a damn good job.
Hi Love your little project. back in the late 1960's and early 70's we made boat tail bodies for our specials by cutting the wings off Morris Minor bonnets and welding them together top to bottom with a fillet between them to give the required height. They were a perfect fit for early Morris or Ford specials. I guess they would shoot you if you started hacking up those bonnets these days.
Amazing race car. A fact not to forget. Make it nice, but be careful not to make it show quality. You’ll just end up being afraid to dent it leaving you drive like an old man on the track😉
i was going to suggest using masking tape on the wheel. On the rear i would of tacked it then cut it and replaced each tack with a butt tack. to save it falling apart and having to rearrange it all again. i love that plenisher its so useful in or out the vice
Love the amazing fabrication skills. I do not understand the intake. The two carbs neck down to a tiny single tube, so a single carb would make more sense. But I suppose the way it looks supersedes everything.
Nice work cobb. As far as the flaws you seem concerned about……. Race car. Back in the day it would have been bashed together and painted with house paint and a stiff brush. Looks awesome.
Looking bloody good so far, top job! The only thing I'm thinking is to finish off the chassis rails by joining them together in the same way that you've done the front end? Surely there's gonna be a risk of flex as they are? Join the ends together somehow? Other than that I love it!! 👍😁
@@bennettscustomsco thank yo for taking the time to reply! That sounds like a good solution, it's just the way that you've done the front end looks very good so doing the same at the rear would, in my eyes, be a lovely way to finish that area. Excellent work on the videos by the way, very entertaining and informative.
Love the music Not as much as the as car. One question could you show who's music is being played. Good music is inspiring during the process. Thanks for the videos you are spot on!
@@craftyclassics I totally agree with you on that back section. What he had done on the grill only started my passion to watch the process start to finish. The neat thing is he is not afraid to show you the failures and what he did to fix it. What brought me to his project besides the name Single seat race car was I had seen small cars called Cyclekarts and I was hooked. They are scaled down versions of pre-world war 2 cars that were raced. I think maybe I want to build a full-size version of some thing as unique as his.
Hey, it's all coming out really cool. But I got lost, you used parts of old fenders for the side panels. Or it all home brew?. I like it. Can't wait to see you drive it..
Hey guys, whose music at 35 minutes, I like it a lot, kinda reminds me of Z Z top ! Are you based somewhere near Louisiana, that's what the music is screaming at me, I'm from the U.K., so I could be talking out my rear end after a few too many beers !.
Hey Jordon, buggy is looking great...thanks YT for the random 'recommended' channel! Didn't know you had one. Very well crafted vid and sound mate! Did you think of using wood along the top edges of the cockpit? As well as being warm to look at, it'd probably be friendly to lean on while racing, and easy to shape. Old battered blondwood like oak or elm...and it'd also be easy to add some beaten leather upholstery elbow pad. I have some so old leather machinery drive belts if you'd like some. Good for cowl/bonnet straps too. I'll be up to pick up the beater Troopy from Tom in a week or so, so will drop in. All the best, Harley Rob, Cowie.
I would take apart that bottom wheel on the bead roller and remount it square it shouldn't be that hard to do. btw Jordan are you able to buff or use the planishing hammer to get those lines out? on the aluminum hood. As My kid's would say Jordan Dad that looks Sick! hahahaha Great job, I'm impressed that little single racer looks cool, you done a fabulous job there bud.
If I remember correctly these things were known as coffins, because one bounce meant they would fly up and off the road as cut-up moded model-Ts without suspension...?
Noticed Carl at "Make it Kustom" having the same fight, keeping the rubber on the roller. Maybe you could fashion a set of little roller guides at 4 and 7 o'clock that actually contact the side of the roller. Some ½ nylon hollow dowel from Mc Mastercarr for example
@@bennettscustomsco I've got the same issue if I buy one online, they're all for 200mm wheels and I have a 150mm wheel :( I'll see if there are inner tubes for trucks or something similar that I can cut a section out of to do the job; if so I can prolly send you one :)

Fantastic work of art

Yup definitely!
Use planishing hammer on those lines instead of burning thru another pc aluminum?

Yup I’ll mix a sample and have a spray out for the next video
