Also...might I suggest a roll bar loop behind the seat you can attach a head pad on. Also a place to put a 5 point harness....ok. I know the harness is not period correct. But it is safer and can be easily removed for show

I can imagine it’s a riot to drive and adrenaline rush to race .. the burnished underside of the wind deflector is sweet !! I wonder how that would look on the outer side as well ? Along with the grill being burnished too? The aged motifs might compliment the cool factor.. I still wish you would recycle the fuel tank to anther project where it might be more visible too .. with a custom tank mounted in the same space it would allow you to move your seat back and afford more space for the driver .. space is safe when trying to maneuver in the cockpit.. all that said it’s classic!!

    • @bennettscustomsco

Seat u fortunately can’t go back anymore as it hits the crossmember, maybe the tank you be nickel plated as well haha

The racer is a beautiful piece of mechanical art, I suspect it will never be actually finished! Always something to tweak or improve. I think the new grill looks off, I also wonder if airflow would still be too restricted. I think the security mesh would be worth fitting and would look great!! I just love that little racer. 😊

Midnight Special is looking great, not so sure about the visual grille fixings, thinking some stainless steel rods bent to the grille outline with the screws tigged to the back would make it look more like the front of the vehicle and not the back. Lucky for us we have Machinery House in NZ, great source for fabrication tools.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of the midnight special build. A lot of build series don't show the process of trial and error.
It's great to see the car evolve and change with time, and its a reminder with my own builds to try, test and develop rather than stall chasing perfection from the get-go. Thank you, I cant wait to see the next builds.

Jordan you could always add some wrap to the wind deflector and teave the perimeter edge still polished.
Maybe make the hood side panels from Steel and paint those the burgundy.
    Too many options.

Having never been able to afford an old car to fix up , I decided to work on what I had , an 89 Geo Metro . 😄
What started out as a stock $150 car , now has mags with wide tires, working side pipes, sun roof ,extended shifter , gages on dash mounted in tomato paste cans, just to name a few ,
Oh ,and don't forget the Carter carburetor with the blower scoop sticking through the hood.
Well, let's just say I'm always the only Geo Metro at the car shows , but I have received 2 trophies.
I've had the car 22 years, and it now has 354,000 miles on it .
Just found your channel a couple of days ago ,but like what I see .

10K! Big step guys! I have to agree, the clover pattern looked really good but on the side of safety and cooling I think that I would go with the stainless steel round bar and a fan shroud. Two separate grill inserts and a stainless cap with your logo over the hand crank hole. Yeah, it's a lot of work but considering you are thinking of supercharging the flatty protection is paramount. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS, HERE'S TO HITTING 50K!
