The best thing about the Chromecast with Google TV is that it’s more than adequate to make your TV smart but also small enough to easily be thrown in a bag for a trip. I struggle to see this working out in the long run, especially when the only major improvements are a 20% faster processor, find my remote, and more storage (for a streaming-first device) at double the price and without the easy setup and portability of the Chromecast.
No go for me : chromecast was small and could hide behind the TV, which isn't the case for that clunky device. I don't want to show my device as an architectural product, especially cause my TV / projector are mounted on the wall.
I do not own a single apple product, but i would definitely buy the apple 4k instead of this joke of a streaming box. 100$ in the US and it is even more expensive where i am from and the is no HDMI cable😮 this is a mandatory component for this to function. I cannot believe that none of the reviewers is roasting them for this... It's really shocking.
If an HDMI cable not being included is a major issue for you, I've got some bad news for you concerning the even more expensive Apple TV 4K you're going to buy instead... and you have to pay an extra $20 for an Ethernet port
@bubbledoubletrouble here they are the same price. The apple 4k was even cheaper 1 week ago in one specific store. Regarding ethernet port i do not see why should i be paying for that. I will just use wi-fi. Those stuff might be more expensive than in the US, but we have some dirt cheap internet 😅
Weird not on mine 🤔 when I click mine it changes the input on my TV's - maybe it's the brand of TV limiting yours on you or a setting I'm not sure. I have multiple brands and they all work, mostly Samsung, a Hitachi, a Sony, and a cheap brand I can't remember the name of offhand
The whole point of chromecast was to be cheap and easily hidden out of sight, this is just making you pay more for the same shit that is harder to hide on the TV
Google TV Streamer just now catching up to Nvidia Shield from 2015/2017/2019.

I liked the volume buttons on the side! felt so natural.
Thanks for the review, but I'll be sticking with my AppleTV 4K.

You reviewers need to stop pretending like Wi-Fi is unstable. This isn't 2002.
The remote and find remote features are the only upgrades
Google have a misstep here. Yes, this is a great product, but Chromecast with Google TV had and still has a place.
Typo in title? A better chrome cast better?
I hated the TV input button on the old remote it brings up the TV input switcher but then you still need the TV remote to make a selection

@@James_RangerWalkerSame here with an LG tv
Looking at both of my 2019 Nvidia Shield Pros and assuring them they have nothing to worry about. Until Nvidia announces.....
I love you Jimmy, greetings from mexico. Hopefully you can make a review about google nest.

This isn’t chromecast anymore its just google tv with old name . The simple chromecast has been discontinued.
TH-cam trying to be a persistent app when casting pisses me off so much. I just want to cast
I still don't understand the low end hardware, a $100 phone has more power than this
Waiting for the rivian video 👀😅
Thinking that might be coming s0-0n. Give me a week 😀
What a overpriced useless product. We went from smart and simple back to a remote.
I could not care any less about all the bloat.
The ethernet port is gigabit and via wireless you can get higher speeds than that so no, ethernet will not make it feel snappier.
I disagree. At those speeds you don't really notice a difference anyways. However you would notice packets being dropped over wireless
Nah it's only wifi 5 - you won't beat the wired
