Great video. I had one of these where the auto return was stuck on. Examined the mechanism and looked like a little bit would pop out when repeat was off, to catch the clamp that would usually return the arm to the playing surface. But the pop put bit had no real tension that could prevent the clamp from engaging and just seemed to get pushed out of the way. I was stumped so I had to put it to rest.
Hi! My JVC AL-F3’s automatic raiser does not raise. It only raises when I disassemble the nail. Do you have any advice on how I would go along with repairing this? Best regards.
Great video...i finally got mine out of storage, bought it new back in tje 80's. The stop start switch isnt working, stays on, can't turn it off. Is that easy to take apart and clean?
I have this model. It was working great, but today the speed select started randomly switching between normal and inverse, regardless of which way the switch is flipped. Any ideas?
Hi there I have just bought a JVC turntable JL F50 , seems pretty good just it is making like a winding sound when I press lift the arm and also when pressing the button to put it back down, sounds like it needs lubrication? I am a novice and would really appreciate any advice you might have for me ? Thank you
@@TurntableGuy Of course... it exerts that weight on to the table, which is why a scale displays that in gramms. Did you check it though, or did you merely state the spec?
Based on the comments I see, this model is troublesome as it ages. I think AL-A158 is better. It hasn't given me a problem since I bought it from a surplus store.
Dec 15 2023 I have this same turntable. When the arms goes back it won't shut off
Same here

Thank you! How can I adjust the auto-return point?

I just noticed it only plays about half way then it stops there and the arm wont go any farther. I can manually move it, pretty firmly..any ideas?

Why do you state that playing vinyl with the dust cover down is something you "probably shouldn't do".
The lid down creates an echo chamber. Better to play records in the open air.
For curiosity , is the weight actuality 1.25 g?
The weight is not 1.25 grams, it applies 1.25 grams at the cartridge.
