Note: This video was originally hit with a copyright strike so the audio test at the end will sound a little funny due to TH-cam's audio masking to reverse the offense.
Very little information on this brand online. Looks to be a CEC unit which is a very good thing. Nicely built, good arm and pretty sharp looking.

Thanks for this, just had to clean the lens on mine (same model) as not reading some 4K discs that it used to. The instructions on dismantling were very helpful.
What oil do you use for the motor? The same as for the bearing?
What oil do you use for the motor? The same as for the bearing?
I have the YP-B4 and my auto start and repeat just stopped working. Do you have a video on that repair?
I have a 505-3 and unable to set the pitch. I got it with broken belts and since replaced both. Any help with setting the pitch 331/2. Thanks!
danke für Ihre gute Anleitung. Ich besitze 2 Dual 606 und bin sehr zufrieden. Ich denke, ein neuer Plattenspieler für 1.000.-€ ist nicht besser, als diese alten Dual 606.
Merry Christmas
Thanks so much for this!
This might be a dumb question. But will the solder leak thru the underside of the cap if you put too much on there? Then possibly short the leads?
All I can say is, Mark, keep going in that direction.
Thank you for an excellent demonstration, which I will now try on mine. I appreciate your sharing this.
I serviced one of these back in 2015. Exactly same issues, stretched belt, hardened grease, no damping fluid left. And very difficult to get any information on it, found it was sold under several names with minor cosmetic changes SEI ST-300 Made by C.E.C in Japan, a.k.a. CEC bd-2000, Sanyo TP 625, Realistic lab-300, probably others.
i ma suprised that you have cleand the belt with alcolhol, i thought alcohol were damaging rubber?
there is a slight risk of drying the rubber, but never had an issue
👍 Looks identical to the C.E.C. BA-300. I think most of us know that C.E.C. was one of the biggest OEM manufacturer of belt driven turntables in the seventies.... Merry Xmas everyone....😉
Merry Christmas, Broseph. So many of these units are identical underneath the chassis. Typical 34.0 RPM units. I always replace the foam.
The cart adjustment is 1.5 grams for the Shure 92 M
Hey Guy the Cartridge is missing the screw that holds the cart in! I don't know if you noticed that!
How come a lot of the turntables you get the lids are in such poor shape? What do people do to these things?
That looks like Sanyo TP-625 that I restored few months ago.
Here for Mark!
Great video, as usual. Nearly identical to the Realistic LAB-300, which was made by CEC.
Look like some Sansui SR type!
AC cable made a diffence imo. In you imo it don't
Wow, what patience! Thanks.
Your video gave me the confidence for tearing into my CS-515 to get at the Steuerpimple, which has recently disintegrated. I lubed things up as you've shown too. I ended up machining a new Steuerpimple from some scrap HDPE plastic. I found a high quality photo online of an OEM pimple from which to scale the outside dimensions. It all works great now. The new Steuerpimple is basically cylindrical. FYI, the dimensions are: OD: Ø3.75mm (Ø.148"); Length: 4.00mm (.158"); Hole: Ø.076" (#48 drill) X .118" deep (not including drill point). The Ø.076" hole gives a Ø.002" light press fit on the 2.00mm pimple pin in the turntable. I put a small edge break on the surface that contacts the cam plate. Thanks Turntable Guy!
I have the same turntable, I'm not sure if my problem is because of the stylus or the arm, but when it moves to cue, the arm doesn't move down... any idea how I can fix it?
Check the cueing mechanism underneath.
@ If the cueing mechanism is that black rubbery piece, it definitely has something to do with that. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
People make a little bit of money scraping the bin and they think they rule the world ! £24,999 for a preamp that good ? Does it come with a blowjob please ?
A BiC pen ink tube is a perfect size ID and OD diameter and is more rigid than the insulation jacket. Just cut to length.
Fascinating pioneer. Have linear Technics J33 programmable track selection & Vertical Technics SL-V5. Both got old grease cleaned out & new tonearm belts. Love picture records on Vertical Technics
Noice!
That is a dreadful home made pre amp
£25,000🤣
Mine is the UBP X700 and the screen is flickering and even black screening on mine
I will click and like every reupload of this video.
great re-up tom evans seriously botched their pr maybe all they know how to do is copy example schematics off opamp data sheets then cry copyright that they dont own ,rip off muppets!
Nice video 🏆🏆🏆
Oh, the delicious "Streisand effect" of the attempt to block this video!
I think the CS in Dual doesn’t mean ‘Complete System’ but was an acknowledgement to ‘Christians Steidinger’ - the founder of Dual. I have a Dual CS 505-3 which I bought new in 1987, used a few months then put into storage. I got back into vinyls in 2018 and resurrected the turntable. It was all seized up with perished belts. The vinyl on the plinth was all shrunk back and it made it look bad. I rebuilt the whole machine with a solid oak plinth and Ortofon OM20 nude stylus. It looks and sounds fabulous now with a new Quad Vena II amp and Quad speakers. The original came with a Dual 165E elliptical stylus which was an OM10 branded as Dual. I think the OM20 sounds a lot better than the original - much clearer in the treble and better dynamics. I found that with tracking set precisely so the diamond ‘floats’ in the groove (equal micro dynamics on left and right channels), the Dual sings sweetly and punches above its weight.
I would have redid the standoffs. Instead of using the male-female type I'd use female on both ends. Then use short pieces of threaded rod to join them. Would be a lot stronger and able to handle the post office much better.
Is this reupload?
Mark you are a complete gentlemen,, i saw your utube on this piece of shite before it was taken down of this utter piece of junk pile that you repaired carefully, respectfully, and perfectly,,,,,, ,not at anytime did you illude to the fact that this looked like a dogs dinner load of garbage ,mr evans should be thanking you for the respect that you had shown towards that amateurist looking monstrosity mr Evans hang your head in shame .Mark please fix my Marantz ,your the only one i would trust to fix it ..
I tried to re-upload this video and got a copyright strike.
What do the dip switches do exactly?
Hi Algorithm.
Tom Evans, should have a kick in the butt
Watch "Mastergroove repair by Mend it Mark & an honest message to Tom Evans audio" from Louis Rossmann
Mr. Evans created quite a Streisand it seems :) Thx for reposting Marks video. Mr. Evans not just copied the Intel inside Logo, he also used the wrong CE mark, he used the "Chinese Export" one - lol. He is either a fool or used the wrong one to mislead his customers, who knows.
This amp should have been healed by elfs in the light of a full moon.
What a great sh!t box. Totally unreal people flush 25k on this amateurish sh!t.
Sub from me Mark !! .. keep up the good work 👍👍
Thank you for this very complete video :) In my case the plate was not turning because the motor was stuck (hard to turn by hand). A drop of lubricant helped to free it.
