"I loved playing Anakin Skywalker"
We loved you playing Anakin Skywalker
@@waltysalamanderYes
No you/we didn’t, stop changing the narrative
@@DOC_951 Speak for yourself. The man's range was excellent, he couldn't help if the dialogue and direction were the way they were.
@@groundbreaker91 Yeah, but do you like sand? lol
@@DOC_951Nahhh, your narrative is trash, in my opinion. Agree to disagree, who would even be better playing Anakin Skywalker than THE Hayden Christensen.
It shouldn't have taken this long for this man to get the love and recognition that he has always deserved.
Exactly!
I never understood the hate, my friends and I all enjoyed them. I'm so glad both Hayden and Ahmed are getting the fan love they deserved. Saddened though that poor Daisy Ridley has to take on the hate and vitriol, and I'm sure it's even worse being a woman.
This man deserves a big apology. He is actually a very talented actor
Time is the ultimate healer
With a fan base like Star Wars it’s not surprising
I’ve been saying this for 20 years: Hayden Christensen played the part of a whiny, arrogant, impulsive, morally tormented young Jedi extremely well. The clunky dialogue and other failings of the prequels were on George. The fans got it wrong for a long time, and I’m glad so many people have come around.
It's so weird because Anakin is the tragedy of a precocious youth undone by his ambition and immaturity (and the influence of an evil man) and people got mad because that's what was portrayed. He's the bad guy!
@@saucyduckglobalomnihyperme7510 It was never, in my opinion, about Hayden. I feel like it was more about the quality of the dialogue he was given. I think that is evidenced by how well received Matt Lanter's Clone Wars take on Hayden's Anakin. Also by how people have turned around on their rather uncharitable critiques and their treatment of the actors in the prequels, myself included. As I grew up and out of the reach of that fandom, saw how insular and toxic it could be, I was able to enjoy Star Wars for what it was and what the intent was, rather than get all wrapped up in my own expectations and nostalgia-bating as a middle-aged nerd. I think his scenes in Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were standouts in both series; he has matured as a performer and just as person. As some one who still has a hard time watching the Prequels, I really dug that he seemed to do enough research into Clone Wars Anakin and I really liked his rendition in live action. I hope they find more excuses to bring him back because he was great.
I find it very sad that the toxic and vocal part of the fandom is most of what we hear nowadays with their review bombs and scathing critiques when in their totality the Twitter warriors have never created a thing worth spending braincells watching.
@@saucyduckglobalomnihyperme7510no, people hated the prequels because they had terrible dialogue, inconsistent acting and many other things
Real fans still hate the prequels. Cope harder
You underestimate his power!
This man deserved way more love than he received in the 00s.
anyone who was actually around in the 90;s and 00.s will remember how judgmental everyone was. you either fit in or you didn't . times have changed and regardless of what the elderly say, the world is a more understanding and accepting place
@@daniel-it2lw Considering how generally understood art is now, I think that is the reason. People hated characters that were made to be hated, without realizing that was the entire purpose. These days, we praise someone for portraying characters that the audience is supposed to hate, such as GOT actors and actresses that are considered legendary for their performance as hated characters. Same for Breaking Bad, and may other great shows.
Everything is less polarizing in the media space now, and the only people that are not with the program, are helpless losers.

2:07 We all know that he "didn't go to conventions for a while" because of the hate and bullying he got for playing Anakin in the prequels, but the fact that he chose not to spell it out shows that he has the *high ground* over this entire fanbase, and we really do not deserve this *master* of an actor.
