  • We went winter camping in our Timberleaf trailer for the first time this December on the top of Snoqualmie Pass. Temperatures dropped down to 25°F during the night but we stayed warm and had a great time. The stars were amazing!

    You may want to add a Luggable Loo to that tent. Also a 200 watt heater or 12 volt electric blanket would pair up nicely with a 500 watt power bank.

    That Army green JK Sahara on 35's is bad ass! You should do a walk around on that Jeep. What a cool location to camp 🏕❄

      Thank you! We love our JK which actually rides on 37"s 😜 We've also thought of a walk around as well, hopefully get something out soon. How are you liking your TJ? Had one years ago and miss her so. Camp location was amazing and can't wait to go higher up soon. Cheers!

      @@WheresWiseman I was thinking 37's, that's too bold of a stance to be anything less. I had a 2 dr '08 JK X with that 3.8 mini van engine. Sorta miss that Jeep but not that engine, it was a dog even with an iDrive throttle kit. My '05 TJ Rocky Mtn is by far the best Jeep I've had. The 4.0 I6 with 3.73's and a Dana 44. The low end torque is great. This rig is mainly a beach and dune wheeler down in the Outer Banks. My wife and I and our sons go surf fishing and beach camping April - Oct. 🏖😎

    What kind of heater did you end up with. We have a teardrop trailer and would like a little heater for it.

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert! We are deciding between the Amazon basics 500 watt and Lasko 200 watt. We need low wattage for off grid camping and we'll test with a portable power station. Video review will be out soon, let us know if you have any feedback!

    Does your little trailer have trailer brakes? And if so how are you utilizing them? Also are you required to carry chains for the trailer?

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jon, it's wired for brakes but we haven't hooked them up yet. Chains aren't required but we do have some just in case.

    Did you guys keep it pretty base or did you wind up with a lot of upgrades (trailer)? I just spec’d one out on their site and it’s coming in at over $21K…..is that normal?

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We stayed fairly basic on this one and kept the price down. Just realized a lot of the options really weren't necessary. Our goal was to have a lightweight, well built trailer with a galley and storage. We could work around everything else or modify ourselves👍🏻 However, being in the northwest, if we could go back, we would add the propex heater.

    • @atomicrancher3745
      @atomicrancher3745 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that’s normal…….more like $23K now…….and you’ll wait almost two years to get it. Nice product but you’ll need patience and a healthy bank account.

    Rookie here! What was the purpose of keeping the fan cover opened while sleeping? To avoid excessive condensation?

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Exactly! Helps keep a bit of air flow moving through the camper and reduces the amount of moisture we're producing 👍🏻

  • @NomadChad
    @NomadChad ปีที่แล้ว

    Would a mr buddy heater work in the camper?

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  ปีที่แล้ว

    I know you researched TH-cam for campers. Did you consider any teardrops with full insulation like the Colorado teardrop? Do you think insulation would make much difference winter or summer?

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our Timberleaf trailer is insulated and we did notice a difference in the cold. Around 30° we noticed the trailer increased 6-8°from body heat alone. Very excited to try out a heater soon. Only problem is, as soon as we open the door we lose all the heat! In the summer, we usually find cover and don't spend much time inside anyway during the day. When it cools down we just crank on the maxxair fan and it's comfortable within minutes 👌🏻

    Do the tear drops go easily wherever the Jeep can go?

    • @wahzmahn
      @wahzmahn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This one does! We have Timberleafs All Road package which does well on and off road. Only 1100 lbs and it has a Timbren axle-less suspension which provides lots of clearance and the ride seems to be very smooth so far. We were worried about stuff inside flying all over off-road, but no issues yet. We actually have another video where we took it on a legit off-road trail across Bethel Ridge in Washington and it pulled with ease 😉

    • @WheresWiseman
      @WheresWiseman  3 ปีที่แล้ว
