Winter Camping In 7°F | Towing Our Teardrop Over A Snowy Pass

- We towed our teardrop trailer over a snowy mountain pass for the first time to winter camp for 3 nights in Bend, Oregon. Temperatures ranged from 7-12°F overnight but with a shore power hookup we were able to run a portable heater on a thermostat inside the camper to stay nice and warm.

Thank you! Originally a small 300 (off grid) and 500 (shore power) watt electric heater but now have a propex heater built in. It is amazing!!! Highly recommend and with the $$

How was the mats under the mattress, I am curious if it helped insulate at all? Thanks
It has definitely helped! Been out in the cold a few times this winter and haven't had any chill from below 👌🏻 It has also helped keep moisture down under the mattress.
Just curious about if your propex heater was not working during this video? Was it to preserve propane Or if there is another reason why you have the electric heater. Thanks for any info.

I also have a 2 door JK and pull a teardrop/squaredrop camper. Have you done any modifications to assist in pulling. What does your trailer weigh loaded. Thanks
Hi David! Only changes are a regear to 5.13's to help turn the 37's. Definitely helped get pulling power back! When we searched for a trailer for our two door, our goal was to stay around 1k lbs. That being said we're usually around 1100-1200 fully loaded. Timberleaf's Pika is the best all around option we could find at that weight 👍🏻
@@WheresWiseman I just added a cold air intake and removed muffler and put a axle back straight pipe plus retuned using the Super chips Flashpaq with power control module swap. It is definitely a different JK now but maybe should look into regear. Running just 33 with a 2.5 inch lift. My trailer is a Weeroll solid aluminum trailer with 33's which weights about same as yours. Always looking to get more towing performance. Thanks for your response.

Do you have problems with condensation under your bed? If so, what do you do?
We do occasionally but always prop it up after each trip. We also installed some insulated foam which helps with warmth and absorbing some of the moisture 👍🏻

You showed a small heater but doesn't your trailer have a built in heater?
Our first trailer didn't have a heater so we had a makeshift setup. Our new blue trailer does have a Propex heater 👍🏻
