      I'd still need to use MIDI for immediate access to presets ...even with jump you still have to cycle through. You can't one button push to say one of 4 settings that might be your core sounds.

      I know right? I wanted to make a smallest possible but still adaptable pedalboard around an Empress Zoia. Thing is, my boost, drive, fuzz and EQ are all essential in practice but take up a lot of real estate. If the Automatone can effectively replace them all, and proves to be solidly built for the long term, it can be a great alternative.

  • @WingmanStudios
    @WingmanStudios 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was interested in testing one of these out until I saw a review on Reverb that says the mids circuit is noisy. Unavoidably noisy. It had a lot of thumbs up, which tells me that other users are having the same experience. On a pedal this expensive ($750+), I expect better. Chase Bliss, is this claim true?

    • @user-oy7gz5bf2h
      @user-oy7gz5bf2h 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's noisy at high volume i.e. when the volume is set high on the pedal. Just got mine and to get unity gain, the volume is set low enough that the problem is non existent. There might be some applications where it's not ideal.

  • @jammer777
    @jammer777 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Umm, clean tones? Or is it just best for fuzz?

  • @michaeltier9315
    @michaeltier9315 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just purchased one. For anyone else who has this pedal: do you typically place it in your pedal chain where the overdrive/distortion pedals would go? If so, how would the fuzz sound if placed after other pitch shifting pedals?

    • @user-oy7gz5bf2h
      @user-oy7gz5bf2h 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      By now you probably know! If so, tell us how it is. I'd guess it's a matter of having a buffer before the fuzz, which is not always great.

    • @michaeltier9315
      @michaeltier9315 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-oy7gz5bf2h I'm using it where the overdrive and distortion would go and it sounds great to me. I should mention that I play bass, though. I think guitar players sometimes have to be mindful of running certain pedals through an fx loop, issues with buffering, and other weird things that don't affect me. So your results may vary.

    Anyone use this with vocals?? Trying to build a vocal pedalboard based around one...

    • @gigaha
      @gigaha ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve used this with vocals. Yes it works, but it’s more suited for those distorted radio-filter sounds. Then again, I prefer using a Hudson Broadcast for that kind of vocal effect. If you’re looking for a more typical/clean vocal EQ pedal, I would recommend the JHS Colour Box instead. The only reason I would use the Automatone for vocal EQ is if I was going to use that wah effect where the Q is swept while singing. All that said, if you’ve already purchased an Automatone, there are definitely ways to use this for vocals, and even clean settings as long as you’re very delicate with the Gain.

    Is there a way to turn off the latency when the bypass switch is engaged? I just received my pedal and theres a gap between when I engage the pedal and when sound comes out. It's noticeably long making it hard to use as a boost or second gain stage.

    • @ChaseBlissAudio
