I wished for this pedal on a forum about 5 or so years ago. People seemed unexcited when I said it would be awesome to bounce a compressor's threshold, ratio or mix for subtle movement. Of course you absolute madlads and lasses took it way further than that. Compression is my most essential effect. I'm beyond excited for this.
Being this is your most essential effect, could you speak to signal chain placement? I could be completely wrong but my previous assumption with mono compression pedals was that you wanted it front of chain. I realize there is no wrong way to approach the signal chain, but with Clean being stereo, would you put it at the beginning of the stereo chain or end? From the videos so far, it appears the end of chain helps to clean up, or in other cases cohese the effects going into it, perhaps? Appreciate your thoughts!
@@scottsweatshirt9753 Currently, I have one compressor as my first pedal (mostly always on), and another dual band comp directly in front of my amp (sometimes on when I feel like it). My amp is just an Iridium and does the stereo split; then it goes to delay and reverb. All my effects go between the two compressors. I usually turn the first comp off when I play fuzz, but I like it into more conventional OD tones. I also use the makeup gain on the comp to boost the Iridium. The second is only on when I feel I need to sculpt some more (it's dual band, so it doubles as an EQ of sorts; also helps with bass, which I play through the same chain). The thing is, I usually don't have too much on between the compressors; most of the time it's just comp - (OD) - iridium - reverb/delay. Compression after effects is usually not a big deal, works just as well and can be super interesting if your effects add to the signal (like delay and reverb do) or affect its loudness in other ways (like trem). I bet the Clean makes it even more interesting still. Now obviously I don't have a CBA Clean yet. I think I'll put it where the second comp is and let it do the stereo split in front of the amp (Iridium has stereo in) and see where this goes. I'll definitely try it first in the chain too, as it might be easier to play into the envelope detector then, but I can have this easily by just turning off everything that's in front of it, which I will mostly do anyways. It's supposed to make clean sounds more lively and interesting, so I hope I can get where I want to be with just it most of the time; and then signal chain placement becomes an obsolete question. Another idea is to put it after everything, as a master compressor. I have played around with this before, with unsatisfactory results, but I never had a stereo compressor pedal, sooo. I'm gonna try that too. I'm not sure if this is very helpful, but I guess the takeaway is, try all of them. There are so many specifics to each rig and player that there's no getting around just seeing what works for youself anyway. Good luck!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the amount of work that has gone into designing the studio set and finding all the correct props and the editing+graphics too are sooooo nice its like a nice warm hug
true stereo compression is not something I thought I needed, but I have so many stereo effects on my board, so putting this near the end to tidy everything together is actually perfect. Sounds fantastic, and I love that it's all analog too. Chase Bliss did it again.
I was shopping compressors before I saw their teasers last week. I decided to wait to and see what kind of fun gadget they were planning to release. Really great timing guys. I can't wait to see this.
incredible amount of features to fit into a pedal.....a beautiful and creative set of features and concept of how they interact with eachother - I'd say you've outdone yourself. Very good price to functionality ratio too!
As an ambient Fx driven guitar player I could usually figure out what people are doing to make their cool sounds. Since Chase Bliss came out I often have not a clue. Man I wish I could have even one of these pedals. This one looks to be the top of my wish list.
Get a fender guitar Plug into an old Marshall crank it up and roll the vol on your guitar back And bam dynamic cleans Pair that with a deluxe or twin for the sparkle with the sizzle and now you are cooking Add this pedal and chase bliss
Putting it before MOOD MKII got me. ❤ Congrats on another wonderful pedal, guys! There are more new compressor pedals out there these days but no press, this is a clean, I mean clear creative winner! 🔥
As a major distortion aficionado this is definitely the thing I never knew I needed to have in my life. I think this will be a SICK addition to the signal chain or post-process.
I love how everything CB is like for almost nobody but some geek nerd producers but everybody recognizes the insane passion and craft that goes into it and how boundary breaking it is.
personally have a strong preference for rack mount compressors, but learning about all the hard work and attention to detail that went into Clean has really piqued my curiosity. always appreciate the high quality devices from you folks! makes me wonder what other nifty gadgets might be in the works over at the CBA secret laboratories...
Another CBA home run. A toy-chest of possibilities, and waaaayyyy more than one might expect of a compressor. I imagine some folks will be distracted by the lovely coloured knobs, but the toggle between the stompswitches will be one of THE most appreciated features among pros. How many other full-featured compressors give you presets so that you can instantly get back those settings it took you an hour to tweak to perfection? The noise gate is also one of the things that lets you stick it before OR after other pedals. I made an SSM2166-based compressor pedal for myself, and the gate function it has is indispensable for placing it after other pedals that might introduce hiss - you NEVER want to provide gain for incoming hissy signals. On-board gating solves that problem. I'm assuming that the Attack function is NOT like what gets labelled as Attack on many 3 and 4-knob compressors. Those units *call* it Attack, but it's really their gain-recovery-rate control, that allows for pick attack to be more audible when playing quickly. Clean's attack control is clearly different. I also have to compliment Joel & Co on coining the term "dusty", to refer to coloration that is not *quite* describable as "dirty", just not entirely...you know...clean. Charming and informative video. And kudos to Zach on the beard. I'm sure, from personal experience, that it's a bloody nuisance with soup and ice cream, but it looks great,
Looks very cool! I ordered my first Chase Bliss pedal a few weeks ago but I already ordered the Polyend compressor that launched yesterday so I think I'm set on compression.
Please consider what I’m about to say: you guys make amazing effects, but the form factor of a pedal I don’t think is the best way to express their power. A studio rack mountable unit with midi control via usb would take your devices to a far wider audience and to the next level. You can make the dip switches into actual buttons or midi controllable via USB. I would definitely buy a multi fx Chase bliss audio fx unit for my studio to use with anything. Seriously consider it guys.
Yeah I don't use pedals, and would love a plugin version of the digital stuff. I understand it ain't happening! But I agree, a Eurorack version of this combined with the Mood algorithm and CV control would be seriously killing it.
Wow!! This is amazing. I am looking for a new master compressor for my eurorack setup, and this is so exciting! I might end up transforming it on a small rack Just wondering how well is the midi implemented to tweak the controls on a live performance. Is there any audible click or noise changing parameters like dusty, motion, etc?
Ok, Clean is ALSO on my list with, Polyend Press, Kinotone Sparks, Endorphins Golden Master, and the pedals keep on releasing back to back this year!! Stop please😢😢😂
Woke up this morning hoping to spend $420. Thanks for helping me guys!
$600 Canadian, and samesies
440 here in Chicago smh
I was about to pay rent but whatever...
Balzin' it
😂😂😂
Whoever is in charge of the design of this set and graphics. Good job.
It's Knobs!! Look him up he's great

Might need 2 compressors 😂😂..1 at the front and 1 at the end 🎉🎉🎉

didn’t know my phone speakers could sound so good. seriously blown away at the music in this video.
Me after seeing the email announcement: not really in the market for a compressor…
Me after watching the video: I NEED IT MORE THAN ANYTHING
Everything is so on point! And daaamnn that bass bud section sounds incredible
Wow ! CLEAN just after ONWARD at 5:38 seems just fabulous to explore ! You are pushing compression pedal an other level, congrats ! 👌👏🙌
Joel’s got strong Dr. Mario vibes.
I love how chase bliss will read my mind and then release a pedal the next day!
Went to bed watching this. Woke up in debt 💖
Delightful. Both the video and the pedal. Y’all are the best ❤
You’ve got a an absolute winner on your hands here guys! What an incredible tool this thing is going to be! WITH SIDECHAIN? 😍😍
Thank you for constantly trying new things. You guys never miss 🔥
This video and pedal are both insanely amazing. Every sound and every shot... perfect!
You madlads just turned half my pedalboard in one pedal. I’m sold.
Whoa, exactly the type of thing I was hoping for! So glad about the return to analog this year.
Just Swell! This is a great addition to the CBA universe. Thanks for continuing to move pedals and music forward.
This video started getting real wild after 5 min mark, love it.
I was shopping compressors before I saw their teasers last week. I decided to wait to and see what kind of fun gadget they were planning to release. Really great timing guys. I can't wait to see this.
I never realized that I NEED this. Thanks, CBA!
This has me hopeful a “sisters” overdrive is on the horizon.
Brothers need their Sisters
God this is such an amazing idea. Similar features to the brothers but with different voicing? I’d buy one
This is the best product video ever!
Bloody hell, well done y'all. It's incredibly clever!
Clean is such a misnomer. This is such an incredible texture machine. Great job guys!
incredible amount of features to fit into a pedal.....a beautiful and creative set of features and concept of how they interact with eachother - I'd say you've outdone yourself. Very good price to functionality ratio too!
I enjoy these videos as a come down moment after I already purchased blindly in milliseconds 😂

Don't know how your intro videos always bring me some eargasm feeling.
That "clean" graphic is a beaut too!
This pedal feels like a market disruptor. Clean is awesome and often difficult to produce. Nice one.
29 Pedals Euna >> Audio Kitchen The Small Trees >> Diamond Compressor mk1 = mind blowing cleans
Get a fender guitar
Plug into an old Marshall crank it up and roll the vol on your guitar back
And bam dynamic cleans
Pair that with a deluxe or twin for the sparkle with the sizzle and now you are cooking
Add this pedal and chase bliss
I've been wanting to build a sidechaining pedal, this is insane great work guys
Listen with headphones…. Sheesh this is trippy.
dude these visuals are SO good wtf
You Guys are Freakin Killin it ! Great Job,Thank You !!! This is one of Those Master Tools. CREATIVE defines Chase Bliss
This video put a massive smile on my face. Great use of stereo too
Putting it before MOOD MKII got me. ❤ Congrats on another wonderful pedal, guys! There are more new compressor pedals out there these days but no press, this is a clean, I mean clear creative winner! 🔥
you nailed it ! the best compressor design out there !
congrats for your wonderfull design
Cheers from Belgium
You had me at AUTO-SWELL! I need this!
As a major distortion aficionado this is definitely the thing I never knew I needed to have in my life. I think this will be a SICK addition to the signal chain or post-process.
Love that you put the 12 string Rickenbacker in the Intro and Outro!
Good show! I hope all your pedals have a side chain plug-in going forward. Clean looks like an instrument all in its own.
Thank you, again.
This might be the best CBA pedal.
Absolutely wonderful, CB! Love you guys!
This is exciting. There’s a lot of usable movement in this thing
Probably the most appealing product for my personal uses from Chase bliss yet!
Now this is how to do a product launch video!
I would use 2:05 with a quick release/ramp up at all times if this were on my pedalboard. This is the most refreshing pedal i've seen in a while
While I expected this to be wild, I was not certain at all how it would be. Omg. This is much cooler than I'm sure many expected ❤
Are the tremolo sounds around 1:30 also coming from the clean? I want to believe!
Yep!
I love how everything CB is like for almost nobody but some geek nerd producers but everybody recognizes the insane passion and craft that goes into it and how boundary breaking it is.
You guys are doing a freakin' great job! Always fresh and creative things from you. Thanks!
Brilliant pedal and art direction!

Fantastic! That's 2 analog releases in a row. You're back on track CBA. Next, re-issue the Spectre. But this time with a volume knob.
I really wanna hear it on live drums
what a frigging funny presentation mixed with cool design!😂
CB, y'all killing it lately. Nice work. 🤘
Dusty dip sounds delicious.
Ok I wasn’t entirely sure before, but I’m convinced now. This is REALLY nice
I would buy this solely for the swell feature let alone all the other features. It sounds heavenly
Incredible presentation. Love you guys.
Looks very cool! I ordered my first Chase Bliss pedal a few weeks ago but I already ordered the Polyend compressor that launched yesterday so I think I'm set on compression.
Just saw the billboard on Hennepin lol . I had to see what’s up. This looks nice.
this is so cool. and amazing video congrats
Digitakt demo ftw!:) Beautiful sounds team!
This is how a video should be done! Love you Chase Bliss! ❤️
another genius and fun design guys well done
Man oh man, you folks sure know how to launch video.
This video is clean!!🧼
Wow, this is not at all what I expected. Very cool indeed!
Outrageously cool. I hope to own one someday
You had me at "100% analog, true stereo" 🎉
As someone who uses compression in a VERY basic way, this pedal is kinda blowing my mind
I haven't decided whether I want to get this or not, but one thing's for sure, I like Joel's hair and stache.
Ext sidechain, it is my must have now🎉
Thank you for making this stereo
looking forward to seeing what this'll do!
Very Knobs style video, love both yalls work
He made it!
@@ChaseBlissAudio NO WAY 😍 we love knobs here
Clean indeed 😤👌
This is the best looking Chase Bliss pedal so far.
Yamaha PSS-780 was my second keyboard. Gee I miss her. Heaps fun.
New pedal will be dope too.
Would love to see how it maximizes sustain. Great video!
Never in my life did i think i would own 2 compression pedals but here we are
releases right on my birthday
You guys are the coolest.
I could imagine using this with the condor hi-fi, into a twin or something for that jerry garcia sound
I NEED IT
Woah, now this is something else
You had me at stereo compressor
This demo is the best lots of youtube guys compress too much

Also, great video by the way 😃
pal, this unit won't hold a candle to any basic rack-mountable vca compressor. you're fooling yourself.
@@yurijogurtsov8710 Those rack mounted compressors won't even fit on most pedalboards. *mic drop
Wow!! This is amazing.
I am looking for a new master compressor for my eurorack setup, and this is so exciting! I might end up transforming it on a small rack
Just wondering how well is the midi implemented to tweak the controls on a live performance.

a 9v pedal as a 'master compressor'? go ahead )
well dang...I'M IN!

Well Done CB!
Another absolute gem!
Veeery nice!
Well done. Congratulations
Oh man.... impulse ordered this one. I've been on the search for a pedal that can emulate tube sag and this just might be it...
