With regards to the title of this clip: not all Time Lords are as kind as the Doctor. Many of the ones we've seen are downright evil. I would assume that they vary at least as much as humans.
I would argue most are amoral, or have blue and orange morality, rather than are evil. Only two really evil ones we've ever heard of, three if you count the Valeyard but I don't, we don't know much about the Valeyard but what he says, and he lies. And then there was Leela. Susan, though there's debate on whether she was a Time Lady or just Gallifreyan. Even the Rani was more amoral than evil from what I've seen. So really just the Master and that one Time Lord who got stuck in that half-collapsed dimension and lured others in to kill them. They're the only two I've seen that kill for fun, who enjoy killing.
Time Lords are like humans in the sense there’s good ones and bad ones. Actually we all have good and bad inside of us, which one do you let dominate your decisions is what defines you. The Doctor chooses to be kind, therefore he is a good Time Lord. Donna chose to be kind instead of blowing that money on material things, therefore she’s a good human.
It's interesting to me this really brings me back to planet of the ood where donna really had it brought up to her for the first time that versions of slavery are very much so still out there and this is her way of trying to help people in situations like that
Strong disagree with the caption on the video, it’s not the time Lord in her subconscious that makes her kind (we’ve seen maybe 2 other benevolent time lords) it’s the part of The Doctor that imprinted on her subconscious
I think it more stopped him from answering the question after the crash, because Donna does ask him who he is in the scene, then asks her mother if she knew him (which she denied because she knew what it would do)
I think that’s the beauty in this scene because although everyone knows who "he" is in that sentence, you’d still expect the question somehow and the absence of the question says so much and encapsulates Donna's situation so well, in my opinion. Because if they ask further they might trigger something and she might die. So they don’t ask, they know not to ask. But that just means that this scene ends with Donna still devastated instead of talking about someone who inspired her to be kind (as would have happened if the question had been asked, imo). And I think this scene represents so many other conversations like this where the people around her, the people who knew her best couldn’t reassure her adequately because they were scaredy-cat triggering her.
you know, 'he' could have been inreference to Wilf since she couldn't remember the Doctor and Wilf never seemed like the type to need for anything or want something greater than what he had money wise. He cared about family, and friends. He was happy with those around him.
