@@RED-hb1di Not exactly the same, and I'm sure that Nemesis will say "Stars" in RE3 Remake. For Gill its different, his classic lines are classic for a reason, and we all know them. Giving him new lines will expand on his personality and story. Reusing old quotes will bring out the "Capcom is lazy" people also.

Gill turns when switching screen sides instead of being mirrored. That's interesting. He's also left handed which is rare in fighting games.

I saw a Gameplay of someone fighting against Gill as the Final Boss. He has Resurrection, it activates when he dies with Full Bar.

The 3rd Strike vibes are STRONG within Gill.
Crush counters and VT cancels scale damage. But CC's also give you tons of v gauge. Probably why both of Gill's VT's are only 2 bar.
A stance switch would indeed be relevant for his retribution system. And attributing different properties to his normals.
It would be interesting if more fighting games payed attention to asymmetry. A fighting game utilizing for exemple the side from which a character has a sword to change his moves depending on his dominant foot would be cool to see

I remember seeing you watch it last night. And yeah, your best bet is SFVI next-gen if you don’t like SFV. We’re probably entering what’s likely the final season with Season 5 (they mentioned that the game won’t see content until after the Olympics, implying more DLC afterwards).
If they add gimmicks like Retribution to the other characters, then this may be one of the most interesting Street Fighters ever.

The timeline for the games goes SF1, SF Alpha, SF2, SF4, SF5 and SF3. This Gill is not the president of the illuminati yet and probably has less of a messiah complex like he has in SF3.

I was thinking about getting the Champion Edition. Seems like a good first step into the Fighting Game genre. I'm just scared that it'll be a Quake 3 situation, where there are very few new players, so the matchmaking just doesn't work.
If you get Champion Edition when it releases, you'll be playing with a ton of other new players. So no worries

Just a reminder that Capcom released Ultra Street Fighter IV as the definitive edition, but also release some costumes as dlc later on.

don't worry there are still a ton of new players as of now. I bought the game for whatever reason in around January I believe and there were other rookies out there like me. The playerbase is surprisingly active

Don't sleep on the slow moving projectiles, I actually prefer them... one of my favorite moves is to throw the low punch fireball slowly as I then edge forward behind it... gives you a lot of options... puts your opponent on his heels

Crush Counters do add additional scaling. That was a change they made in S3. They also build v meter.

That Pyron Costume only makes me feel even further that they're remaking or thinking about remaking Darkstalkers .....I think they're gonna release a new Darkstalkers in the vein of the SF engine
Also, kinda surprising to see a Street Fighter character rotate when switching sides instead of mirroring.
A callback to Gill's sprite work for SF3. As a way to show off the capabilities of the new hardware, Gill had sprites created for each side of the screen instead of simply mirroring the one set over.

@@wavnino1 It's only natural for capcom to prioritize the games that bring the most money like RE, Monster Hunter, and DMC. Although I'm sure they're not lacking in support for the FG division. The problem probably comes from the group appointed by capcom to handle the FG division, because they're obviously doing a poor job communicating with their audience.

They really need to clarify and cannonize the history and story of Street Fighter and whatever worlds it crosses over or collides with bc the gameplay was always there just stripped down; it's Capcom for games sake. We just need a reason to play and love these characters again not just bc they're sexy

I just don’t understand the whole “the flames look good but it shouldn’t be in normal play/tournament play” conceit with the Pyron costume. It’s no more distracting than any other costume, and the flame affect is not obscuring, it just gives a cool effect, you can still see him and know what he’s doing.

I've never been a Gill fan (I don't hate him either) but at least in SFIII he looks like an exotic super human, but in this SFV style he just looks like a creepy weirdo in body paint... at least he has one of the very few alt costumes that don't look entirely stupid.
A combo-heavy character in SF5 whose combos actually cause actual damage? It's definitely the end times.
Every character looks insane when there trailer comes out, but when they are matched up against a good Rashid, Karin or G player, which are broken in this game, it will be diffrent, those three characters do not let you get moves off, you're trapped blocking the whole match.

Agree with Max on Gill’s colors. It was basically Capcom shoving their graphical dick down our throats and saying “ hey guys we can now make the fighters more realistic in how they move and switch sides isn’t that cool !!!!!” But Gill has always been my guy since Sf3 and I’m glad he’s back.
It looks like while Gill doesn't get regular Crush Counters, he gets the same effect when he hits a Retribution.
