Mine asked for a break twice… started saying she thinks guys and girls can be friends even though I was not okay with it because I was not in the area for a while… she said “if you really love me you would let me do this” (the break the second time) I told her I’m done because I told her if this happens again I’m done forever so she made that choice… when I gave her the break the second time 14 days went by and not a word from her for 14 days and only when my family got my stuff from her place she reached out asking why I did that… I blocked her and have been no contact for 4 months I got a feeling she was cheating so In my opinion I think I made the right call. I'm in this sort of situation right now, except the guy is not my bf. I love him, I am in love with him, I can't stop thinking about him, but I just think I can't be with him. And that is because, firstly, I value my freedom way too much to give it up (when I say freedom, I don't mean sleeping around with dozens of guys, just doing whatever tf I want without justifying myself to anybody) and, secondly, I honestly think he might not like me once he gets to know me better, like, at all. So, she said her mental issues would best be worked on alone and that she cant give me 100% in this relationship because of it. She then settled for this guy who had a home but she was always complaining about how unhappy she was. Finally after she broke up with this person, she came to me for help. I helped her find her own apartment and I also helped her get some furniture, and help by getting her help for her addiction. She has now been sober for three months and has been trying to lead a happier life. The problem lies in her lack of sexual desires. We used to have a passionate relationship. Now that is gone. I visit her often and stay overnights on weekends but the sex is non existent and according to her therapist this is normal when an ex alcoholic is recovering. So I have tried being there for her. The problem? Even without sex, some affection and conversations about future plans would make it at least tolerable. This has been a problem because if I try talking about feelings, she gets very angry and cold. Now I am not sure if I should stay or go. I am only human and I have needs too. I know that these things take time and patience. But I feel like she says she loves me but her actions tell me she doesn't love me at all.

So, she said her mental issues would best be worked on alone and that she cant give me 100% in this relationship because of it. I knew in advance she would break up with me so i said i agree, i need someone more mature and whom i can trust not to leave when things get hard in the future. i did not want to break up because i love her and i've never clicked so well with someone. My girlfriend tells me she loves me only after I say it first (usually every other day). But she has recently broken off with her former boyfriend. After that breakup she was kicked out of the home she shared with her ex. She had no where to go and I offered her my place to stay. We used to go out years before and I always loved her but due to her alcoholism she betrayed me on several occasions. She then settled for this guy who had a home but she was always complaining about how unhappy she was. Finally after she broke up with this person, she came to me for help. I helped her find her own apartment and I also helped her get some furniture, and help by getting her help for her addiction. She has now been sober for three months and has been trying to lead a happier life. The problem lies in her lack of sexual desires. We used to have a passionate relationship. Now that is gone. I visit her often and stay overnights on weekends but the sex is non existent and according to her therapist this is normal when an ex alcoholic is recovering. So I have tried being there for her. The problem? Even without sex, some affection and conversations about future plans would make it at least tolerable. This has been a problem because if I try talking about feelings, she gets very angry and cold. Now I am not sure if I should stay or go. I am only human and I have needs too. I know that these things take time and patience. But I feel like she says she loves me but her actions tell me she doesn't love me at all.
Don't just hear what she says and take it at face value. Listen to her actions. That's how you read between her lines, and all women have a "between the lines." Quit imposing your feelings on her and give her freedom, space and time to figure it out on her own.
