Though the band came out in position for Walfredo, they were forced to pause due to technical difficulties. For the second show in a row, several breakouts dotted the setlist: Walfredo (first since February 22, 1997, or 248 shows), Esther (August 9, 1998, 146 shows), Forbin’s and Mockingbird (August 7, 1998, 148 shows), A Day in the Life (July 3, 1998, 170 shows), and Emotional Rescue (July 28, 1998, 155 shows). The Mockingbird narration referenced the band’s upcoming hiatus. I Didn’t Know included a reference to Kid Rock’s sidekick Joe C. Esther featured flubbed lyrics for the final verse, ending with Trey proclaiming: “She died. Dead.” As the band returned for the second set, the crowd serenaded Trey with Happy Birthday. Twist contained San-Ho-Zay teases from Trey. Emotional Rescue included a bizarre synchronized duel on-stage between Trey and Mike.

The band was about to go on hiatus and this audience was flying. Some of the most incredible energy and locked-in vibe that I've ever experienced at a Phish show. Band was on no sleep I'm sure, but a great performance regardless. Great to re-experience 22 years later.

I became a phan in 1994 and first show was 1996 San Diego. This Vegas show was so special to me. I was loge 200 Fishman Trey side (traditionally) and lost my mind when they kicked off Walfredo. It was very emotional for me. They are the bees knees.

In 2003 a friend showed me this DVD, and I was hooked. 4 years later our Phish cover band played our high school graduation party. Great memories!!

I remember my buddy came with who had no tickets.. we were with a very large crew, I was doing most of tour. I did take Kansas off, funny has to skip Kansas in 03 as well. Summer 03, I was going to leave after Gorge but buddies from CO had RV and changed my flight after Gorge from Utah to Boston. I had to grab some East Coast crew and my car. In 2000 was similar, plan was to leave after Chicago but found flight from Minneapolis into Boston and I wouldn't miss my flight into CO, Fiddler's Creek. Anyways, long story about two dudes who screwed over waitresses in Hampton after asking to sit at our table because there was no room. I'm Hampton, four of us- myself, GF, her GF and random tour dude who we were cool with were eating at I think Hooters in Hampton. Two dudes, not super sketchy asked it they could sit with us. We as nice Phish kids said sure. Well, the four of us finished before there food came and the waitress wasslammws as y"all can imagine. She asked if she could add their check to ours. We left money, with a huge tip to these dudes who I guess ate and got drunk. They took off with our cash and never paid. The waitress recognized my GF friend the following night and at first through we were in on it. The girl asked for the bill, told us and tour dude who was chilling with us. This was 97 Fall, I was 20 and did the entire thing. I certainly wasn't rolling in cash but my GF and her GF got money from us, went around and told customers. We ended up paying the bill and got girl like $140 tip. The four of us vowed to get those two 8f ever seen. Flash forward to 9/27/00. My GF and I had gone out separate ways but the funny thing my ex old GF and tour dude ended up engaged after not seeing each other again till fall 99. I walked by and the two grabbed me and asked if Yvonne was around. I explained wer were still friends but not together and I didn't see her. Well Yvonne gf became quite the tour kid and had loads of friends. We ended up finding were dudes parked and waited till after the show. Yvonne's friend got a huge crew, asked if they remembered stealing from us and the poor waitress at Hooters. Well these lot kids sure showed justice of the lot. The took them to the outskirts of the lot and duck tapped them to trees. They applied a sign that said we still from Phish family. What do you know, kids set up a tank right near where clowns were tapped. I don't know if y'all have been to New Orleans where idiots who do stupid shit are tied to a pool until Paddy wagon arrives. NO Police do this cause they know their own kind will clean em up. HaHaHa these dudes got it brutal being near the tanks. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them pre-show 9/30 for my and Treys B Day Bash... Funniest shit ever. KARMA BITCHES
I remember buying this DVD because I liked Billy Breathes. Put it on and was like, what the hell is going on? I, of course, now get it and have seem 'em 23x

The Curtain With here is epic. Really fun show all around, crackling with a different kind of energy that sort of went away when they took the first hiatus.

drove down from Missoula to catch the remaining five shows after vegas, what a magical time to catch the Phish on the west coast before hiatus.
this was an ultimate underated show!!! such locked in playing!! absolutely bliss, that ending is so far out pulled off perfectly just the cherry on top

Absolutely! Throw in Les Claypool's Flying Frog brigade at The House Of Blues immediately after the show as a bonus, too. They played Pink Floyd's Animals album in it's entirety as their 2nd set. Phish was on fire Friday night, too! That Carini was smokin. Great times
Was amazing, still have a balloon from Trey's birthday... I remember walkin into the casino after night one, spun cookies. Man, those noises 😵💫 they echo in my noggin till this very day

I can't get into modern Phish, I've tried 😔 started drifting away around 02-03 with Coventry being the nail in the coffin. After seeing well over a hundred shows, I've been to around 8 since then
