I was at this show, which ironically was my last show, not Phish's. It felt kind of downbeat and stripped down. No special guests, no rare covers, just a straight-ahead setlist as if they wanted to exit without too much drama. It was technically a fine show but I did not feel the same joyful vibe I had during '98-'99. Someone else in the comments called it 'bittersweet' which was my experience as well.

It's amazing Pigpen is only 23 years old here at Woodstock a few weeks away from his 24th birthday. He looks like a 50 year old here. An old soul for sure. Long live Pigpen and The Grateful Dead❤🙏

My first show! I remember it all like it was yesterday.

This was a strange run of show because it was the beginning of the end for phish right b4 Coventry. I think it was the second night they did jay z and that was good but something was off and i couldn't put my finger on it. Trey was spiraling.

God they were so damn tight in this era. You can hear it from each of them. They're so confident and in sync with each other, they each throw in little extras all the time.

You can tell this is 2000. By that time the crowd had sorta shifted. There were still the dedicated phans, but there was also a certain sect of people that were basically just party goers. Trey himself talked about it in a few interviews. Obviously anyone has a right to be there, but it sorta dampened the great vibe you'd see at shows just a few years earlier.

I believe they surpassed The Grateful Dead in every way. Sorry not sorry. And I am a lifelong deadhead, saw them with Jerry, knew fam, whole deal. But Phish were the next step in the continuum and they just did it so profoundly well that small people can only nitpick one facet or another, but never see the cyclopean entirety.

I was at this show for the second week of my honeymoon. My best man and I went to the last four shows. My (now ex) wife joined us for the last two. Epic shows. Lots of fun. Happily divorced since 2005.
