If you wonder why Battlefield 1 has VERY good graphics to this day compared to even BF2042 is because they used photogrammetry to make the textures of the game, besides that i would say that BF1 is better in every aspect of sound (environment, atmosphere, soldiers, guns, etc.)
In terms of animations it is your choice, i don’t really like the tacticool reloads in a WW2 era, so i just prefer BF1 for being actually nice and natural, i think i would say the same thing about BFV animations.

    • @NovianLeVanMusic
      @NovianLeVanMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +50

2042 probably has far less photogrammetry, but I think a big part of it has to do with scaling the game to 128 players. A sacrifice had to be made.

Total clueless take... DICE *STARTED* using photogrammetry in SW:Battlefront and in BF1... It's not like they didn't use it in BF2042. The reason why BF2042 looks worse is bcs of the art style and bcs DICE lost all it's high quality employees right around BF5's launch...

EA did many things wrong, but BF1 definitely wasn’t one of them.
It looks like they had a team of historians researching about the weapons that they were going to put in the game, how they behaved, how they performed, what problems/particularities they had, like lifting the tip of the top round in the strip when reloading the Mosin-Nagant. The game was FUN and very well made.
Now Vanguard, they should have hired the guys that did the research for BF1 (and V), the weapons are inspired by their real-life counterparts, but that’s about it, you can equip them with attachments that are almost surreal, .50BMG for the BAR, MG42-style 100 round drum for the Bren (the real one was a pan like the one used by the VGO in BFV).
Warzone is fun, but they f-ed up history trying to make the WWII guns competitive with the Cold War and Modern Warfare guns.
If COD ever goes to WWI, I hope that they will start from 0 instead of trying to make those guns match more recent ones (they will do something like Martini Henry 20-round .303 conversion or will make it fire the round that the Tankgewehr used to shot)

It's always bugged me that every bolt action sounds exactly the same in COD. Not the firing, but actually cycling the bolt. I've got a real 1903A3 made in 43 and it sounds and cycles completely different then my friends mosin m91-30 from 42. Mosins are a pain in the ass to cycle compared to something with a Mauser style bolt and have a unique sound all their own. Maybe it's just me but I've always loved the fact that BF1 animated the mosin's rough cycle compared to other bolt actions with smoother bolts

I actually have a 1944 mosin myself. The smoothness of the bolt on mosins is kind of hit or miss. Mine cycles beautifully and flawlessly every time, while others take some more work to manipulate. And you are 100 percent right about the sounds. The mosin has a very distinct cycling sound that a Springfield does not, and vice versa. COD's just gone down the shitter.

It's actually a weird mix of models and parts. Late M1928A1 fire selectors, M1 Stock/Grip, M1A1 sights, M1928 drum magazine, and for some reason they made the drum the default feeding device. It's just lazy and idiotic. The different Thompson variants (Prototype/Annihilator, M1928, M1928A1, M1, M1A1)could have been customization options, along with the same logic for other weapons to use variants of their respective models (for example, the M1918 BAR, M1918A1, M1918A2, FN Model 1930, Colt Monitor, FN Model D are all variants of the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle, and all of them were used during World War II), instead of slapping random garbage on them and having no idea what cartridges fit in your weapons. But then again, if they had an actual historian and a historical weapons expert on the team, they could have had a good game. Rant over.

I think both games has nice graphics, models and animations. But for guns sounds, I will choose Battlefield 1.
In my opinion, the Battlefield franchise always had this advantage of having more realistic guns sounds than a lot of Call of Duty games (of course, except the first Call of Duty games and 2019 Modern Warfare).

Sounds: BF1, no doubt. If it weren't for those muffled metallic screeching then i would probably appreciate Vanguard more.
Final Verdict: BF1 wins. Also the reason why i chose Vanguard reloads is because the other judges (not in here tho) are saying "It depends on your taste" Stuff. I decided to avoid that and let out my honest opinion.

i suppose this also means that some people have all-white classes and some people have all-black classes
not trying to be political, its just a cool detail and I'd much rather have this than the tacky system in BFV.

I can also tell from where the screw on the firing pin nearly but not quite lines up with the notch on the bolt that they tried to model it as accurately as possible (Mine does the same thing, if you line it up it isn't flush with the bolt) compared to the perfectly machined groove on the bf1 mosin.

What's the point of calling the luger the "klauser" or the Webley Mark IV the "Top break," or the Mosin the "three line rifle." I have to say that BFI wins this video, but both games have some inaccuracies with the weapons.
2:33 The M97 Trenchgun in CoD not only has two hammers for some reason, but the rear sight of it is also wrong.
3:52 The Browning Auto 5 barrel is way too short
    4:31 Thompson M1A1 couldn't allocate a 50 round drum magazine.
5:25 The Federov Automav's fire rates is too high. Should be about 300-400 rpm.
6:16 The Arisaka Type 99 recoil is a bit too extreme.
6:40 The clips on the Mosin Nagant didn't fly out as we see in BFI, nor could you remove it with the action of the bolt like we see in CoD. You have to manually remove the clip before feeding a round in the barrel.
6:58 Since this looks like an infantry variant of the Mosin, the bolt should be straight instead of melted down. Also, the recoil on it is way too strong.
7:44 Not sure why we are comparing a Gewher 98 to a Kar98k but oh well
8:13 The BAR 1918 we see in BFI looks more like an A2 BAR. The pistol grip on it is incorrect, but also the sights on it are also incorrect. The first BAR in WWI had no sight hood and the rear aperture sight looked more like the 1917 Enfield rear aperture sight. And in CoD, the grip is way too long, and the BAR1918A2 was not fitted with a carry handle in WWII.

In RL , at the end of WW1 soldiers were using first model of BAR(M1918A1), but it was not that effective as expected, so it was not sent to mass production.
Battlefield 1 cannot be said that there is not much difference between weapons during World War I and weapons during World War II, but it is still not once or twice that many weapons were used during World War II.Most of them are retired or just left as antiques or still used...
I don't know if the Mauser C96 was the first automatic pistol made by the German Empire (the First Empire) in World War I, but anyway, considering that it was still used in World War II after World War I, it is often used in other countries or about 10 million In the Republic of China, there is a Shanxi 17-style pistol that copies this In Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4, Eva is the basic weapon, and in fact, this pistol has a double line that Eva is a Chinese spy. This is actually the pistol Lenin gave to General Hong Beom-do.
Luger P08 was used by most officers until the end, but most of them were replaced by Walter P38 because the quantity was quantitative, but some officers, including Hermann Göring, were used, especially armed guards.Major Annie Helsinki also used a luger pistol, but of course, her shooting skills are poor.I don't know how he joined the armed guards.
The M1911 Colt pistol was literally an automatic pistol developed in 1911, which was still widely used in World War I and World War II, and was also used as Landless in the Soviet Union, but was later replaced by Tokarev pistols based on it In the Korean War and Vietnam War, including after World War II, it was used as the main pistol of the Korean Armed Forces, but was later replaced by a large number of K5 pistols, but non-fighting units, including rear units, are still using Colt pistols.I heard that I've seen a colt pistol myself.
Most of the Winchester 1897 shotguns are widely used for military, police, or hunting, and the above video showed Model 1897 trenchgun models, and since then, all of them have been replaced with improved M1912 and M12 trench guns In the above video, Vanguard, he wrote the early M1897.
The Thompson machine dagger is a weapon that came out after World War I, and to be exact, the weapon in the above video is a prototype Thompson machine dagger. The general fever looked like a guardian or a squirt gun, but since then, it has changed to an elongated model. The Thompson machine gun in Vanguard is M1A1 Thompson. This was also used as the main weapon of the Korean Armed Forces during the Korean War after World War II.
The Arisaka 38-style rifle is a rifle that was brewed until the end of the former Japanese Empire, and it is the rifle where Japanese people shout Tenno Hekai Banzai and carry out bayonets in the Pacific War, including the Sino-Japanese War.Since the end of the war, the Korean Armed Forces have also been used, and to be precise, they have been forced to use all of the old Japanese weapons seized by the U.S. military due to a lack of supplies during the Korean War, but they have also used North Korean troops.Of course, due to lack of supplies...On the contrary, however, Vanguard uses a 99-style rifle, which came out during World War II.The 99-type rifle was also used by the Korean military, which was also used in the rear unit to deal with partisans.
The Browning BAR is also a weapon used as the main weapon of the U.S. soldiers in World War I and World War II, and has been replaced by an improved BAR since the past, but 20 bullets remain.Naturally, during the Korean War, it was used as the main game machine gun of the Korean Armed Forces, but most of them were helplessly used due to a shortage of supplies, but only after the successful landing operation in Incheon was used it properly.

Love how the vanguard characters are using stances that aren’t accurate for the time they’re in, and that the 9mm pistols kick like a mule with a 2 handed grip, a 9mm para round has about 2-3lbs of recoil, where .45 has 4-5lbs. Which isn’t a lot.

i feel like the biggest problem with vanguard's animations is that theyre treated like modern day guns youd find in the hands of an average soldier, which they arent. along with that, many soldiers from both world wars were somewhat ill-experienced with firearms, meaning they wouldnt quickly flick the magazine out of their pistol and slam a new one into the gun in the matter of one second with minimal movement.

Honestly I feel that they should have done Vanguard as its own stand alone game and not included it in War zone. That way they could have made the guns way more historically accurate. I also feel they should have done what they did in the OG Call of Duty games and just made it as historically accurate as possible while it still being fun. Case in point, all CoD games set in WW2 literally were setting up the events that would lead to WaW, which would then lead into the first Black Ops game and Modern Warfare.
