I absolutely love this scent glad you reviewed this because not many people talk about it and it's still smell strong despite the reformulations I would only wear this in the fall and winter.
Seeing a lot of older people (no offense at all) talking how this was their first fragrance or something, im 19 now and im using this one, so im glad im using a good one at this age cause everyone seems to like it, i hope i can also develope my scent even more and continue to use great fragrances like this one

This one was such a shock to me, I honestly could not believe how great this one smells to me. Definitely my favorite from the brand and I am looking forward to wearing it once it gets cooler out.

This is one that IMO the latest formulation is better. I recently sampled this and it is a lot nicer than I remember.
Back in the day, the opening notes reminded me of a car freshener (the one shaped like a Pine tree)

I'm 49 years old and this was the first fragrance I ever wore in my 20's back in the 1990's and I still have a bottle in my collection and it holds its own against the more modern ones I own. Not outdated by any means.

The first time I bought this was back in 2006 , I hated it and gave it away lol. I was around 14yr old at the time . Since I’m reaching my 30s and seeing this video I was like oh let me give it a try . First spray I loved it , has nice cinnamon vanilla amber with a hint of musk . Then about 3 hours later has a nice creamy vanilla smell . It’s crazy how things change , it’s like the change in taste buds like appreciating nice whiskey or a nice cigar the sense of smell changed. Glad I bought this !
I smelled this recently and I remembered it from my childhood. I’ve been thinking about adding this and Eternity back into the collection.

I was 15 at it's release, 52 now and still using it.
Never seen a reason to stop using this cologne.
I love this fragrance. And its cheap enough for me to turn it into my signature scent. Not when its hot tho.
I wasn't aware of the Must de Cartier comparison, but I get a similarity to Equipage by Hermes. The cinnamon is what makes Obsession and Equipage to me. Ive since picked up a bottle of Must de Cartier and I don't smell much of a similarity. Obsession even smells more like the MDCI Chypre Palatin I have here right next to me than Must. Also some people compare it to Paul Sebastian Fine Cologne, but I think that is actually a fuller, richer, stronger classic Old Spice. The big connection to me is the cinnamon and amber.

I'm 53 and this, and CK's Eternity, were my go-to fragrances in my 20s and 30s. Eternity was more playful while Obsession was more sultry. Two of the best ever scents for men!

This is the first fragrance I remember completing on someone when I was just a kid of about 8 years of age lol and ended up getting it for myself years later when I started getting into fragrances as I never forgot it, it's not a fragrance I currently have but if I was to use it I would see myself using it on Christmas day as I see it fitting into the occasion well with the Nostalgia of the occasion

This brings back memories. I almost bought a set with this one, Escape and Eternity together. That was what I was gifted back in the day when I was a kid for Christmas.
I bought that gift set! And I’m amazed at Obsession ! It seems VERY strong to me and fills the room up! I loved the smell and glad to hear it was loved in this review! I never smelled it before so it is a great new discovery for me just getting into fragrance at the ripe age of 68.

My aunt would wear Obsession when I was a kid and drown out the whole family. Even so, this fragrance is so nostalgic for me. My mom used to wear Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, and I get those same emotions.

From what I have read and heard, the Obsession EDP (no gender designation) is stronger and better than the Obsession "for men" EDT. I have the EDP and am loving it.

This was my very first fregrance, I have over 400 fregrances now and I still keep it in my collection don't wear it as much but I will always keep it I my collection
Got a vintage bottle as part of a lot, tested it, found it interesting but I wasn’t really into the vintage feel back then.. I tested it again the other day and it was very comforting and pleasant to wear but the sprayer is kind of broken so I picked up a gift set on the cheap in Bealls, it definitely isn’t as potent as it was originally but still a nice scent.
Can’t smell it without feeling nostalgic or being reminded of a dad or granddad or uncle..
CK has some true classics (for cheap).
Just picked up a bottle. Reminds me so much of High School dances. It's a nice warm cinnamon fragrance, this and Burberry London are perhaps the best winter/Christmas scents.
Is there a niche version similar to obsession? Like Creed Viking is to Old Spice. Which I love. Btw. Thank you!
MFK Masculin Pluriel and the cinnamony lavender aspect of Creed Bois Du Portugal really remind me of Obsession which I wore ALL the time about 20 years ago along with One, Be, Eternity, Escape and Contradiction all part of a little sampler I rotated through. Bath and Body Works Oak smells awfully similar to Obsession as well...absolute classic great for fall and winter 😎👍

just picked up a vintage i smelled the modern liked it but knew it was one that i needed a vintage off
To me the opening is very sweet , warm I can smell flowers , I like that loads .
The second stage after it dries I am not sure about , this is the only one I love and hate at the same time , it’s old school barbershop smell to me very manly but I am not sure if it’s for me , or should I say it’s not me .

Wow, i have this as a gift from my father way back in college, (2009). I felt inlove with the smell but i was broke during that time. When im working already i search in Manila(Philippines) and i cant find store that were selling this and they said that calvin klein already phase out the production. So i was surprised when i saw one here in UAE and i hoard a lot. :)
My girlfriend got this for me cause i like powdery scents. I love it. Apparently the civet pheromone attracts cats too!

He's so right if it weren't for these originals nothing would of inspired others, hes smelt the best of Best and to show respect to the originals shows how authentic the frag connoisseurs are.
It meant lots when calving meant something back in the 90s just like Guess and tommy good quality clothes and fragrances
This is my fav but, my father used to use it in 1990, the perfume was very nice but it was EDT, I wish it had stayed as edp

They changed the new one. It’s sooo weak compared to the original. Doesn’t react the same either. Maybe they’re using cheaper chemicals now.
It has a strong smell, not for everyone and it does smell kind of retro which I wouldn't normally like, but in this case I like it a lot, it's very rich.

Bentley Intense and Dolce and Gabanas The One both smell very similar to CK Obesession, imo.
There is something different about the new one vs the original. I used to wear it back in the late 90s early 2000s. It would last for a week on my jacket. Now it barely lasts a day.
Edit. Oops, just got to the 8 minutes and the “I know it’s weaker” speech. LOL sorry.
Also there was another classic called ghost man which is now dicontinued and very rare
I had a small bottle shortly after it came out, and never really revisited it. I was perusing around a discounter site and purchased both this and the women's original Obsession. Of course they have been reformulated, but they still smell fantastic and given the trends of spicy ambers today, they are still very relevant.
I got this around 2015 when I started my collection. It strong over 10 hour plus. Not weak at all but who know maybe the new version is not as strong. But you don’t need something that strong!!!!!
On me it only lasts about 2 hours so rubbish

Just got this cause wanted compare it to Obsessed. Conclusion is that i prefer Obsessed.
Calvin by calvin klein is my favorite ck release. It was also their first mens frag ever. After calvin this has to sit 2nd on the throne. I have to get a bottle for old times sake. Looks like this can had for cheap under 20 bucks for 125ml.

This is the olfactory version of "Last Christmas", i cant think of anything else when i wear it
