    This system is almost perfect. I'm telling you right now skip the headache with the factory IAC and get Ford Fiesta IAC. It will require you to change the plug and re-pin the connector. BUT you will regret ever thinking your car will run good with the stock IAC. After all the money and time i spent setting this system up and still never ever being able to get my car to idle good with a larger cam i switched to the Fiesta IAC and wow. The car is PERFECT. DO IT.

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I agree, the Megasquirt does require a bit of learning. It's nice to be able to reuse the factory harness, though. It's one of those things where you have to weigh the pros/cons. Through the Megasquirt software, you can purchase their self tuning extension. This makes life a lot easier. I wish they would just include that from the get-go. -Landan

    Are we on the 3rd Terminator X for the Fox Platform because the one that was discontinued a few years ago had a part number as this one, 550-937F. If so, what is different between all 3 kits and the original part number. Thanks.

  • @toranzoM
    @toranzoM 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Is the inertia switch still functional with these kits?

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It depends on the year of the car and if you're using the factory fuel pump circuit. 86-90 and early 91 had the inertia switch wired before the relay. Late 91-93 had the inertia switch wired after the relay. Late 91-93 will utilize the inertia switch if you use the factory fuel pump circuit with the Holley Term X. 86-early 91 cars will not utilize the inertia switch. You would have to rewire the circuit in order to retain the inertia switch. The other scenario would be if you're having to use a dedicated fuel pump harness due to amp draw. If that's the case, then you'll have to wire in the inertia switch to the dedicated fuel pump harness. Hope this helps. -Landan

    So my question is what is the differences between the 550-937 and the 550-937F i bought my holley kit before they rereleased this still in the box havent touched it so may reach out to ask if they would swap it out for the F model if its easier to do so

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The 550-937 part number included a "generic" 302/351 engine harness and another harness that was "Fox Body length". The harness for the Fox required you to cut/splice the TPS and IAC connectors. The MAT and CTS sensors had to be purchased separately. We unraveled it a bit and included some of the stuff that you needed, but it still wasn't the 550-937F kit. So, fast forward to today; the 550-937F kit is back (obliviously) and the 550-937 has returned to just a "generic" use kit for 302/351/460. -Landan

  • @Olds_Pwr
    @Olds_Pwr หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wish they would have used the original harness and calibrated the computer to work with the Ford components. More plug and play would have been nice overall instead of cutting up the factory harness.

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is already an aftermarket ECU option that retains the factory harness. It's the Megasquirt. Link below if you want to check it out. Also, you don't cut up the factory harness with the Terminator X. It gets removed along with the factory computer. -Landan

      I ended having an old harness that I used to modify 1 plug to maintain the factory gauges in my 93 gt. It's very simple. It kept me from cutting some of my factory 93 harness. Now I can use it or save it for another time.
