I just stumbled across your channel from a g8 video from 4 years ago and now the only thing I’m mad at is you need to start posting more lol great content man keep it up
Great upload Joe! thank you. 100% yes we prefer ID's and also FIC's. Nice to have drop down data with the FICs. I will say depending on power goals DEKA 60's or 80's GENUINE seem to be good with Holley and their data.
It's nice seeing you drive these vehicles instead of purely dyno. There's a local big name shop that only dyno tunes and never goes on the street after to double check everything. The last 7 out of 7 tunes I've redone after them have been deadly lean at higher load mid-high rpm. If it was street driven after, even with no datalogging, they would see a problem when it breaks up at higher rpms. After making the necessary VE adjustments (GM ecu), the 70s Camaro went from running mid 12s @ 115 mph to 11.08@122 mph in the 1/4 mile. Timing was untouched as the previous tuner had it fairly maxed out without knock for the Procharged setup.
Totally noticed the same thing with coolant temps and fuel demands. Starting up hot with coolant temps around 207*F for a little bit, wanted a different amount of fuel than when it would cool off to 192*F after a short drive.
I'm aware of the circumstances but I love it when when a customers ride starts acting up and automatically thinks it's the tune. My coworker cant grasp the concept either. He'll build something and have a fueling problem or something and want me to look at the tune 50 times.
Joe, love the channel. What are your thoughts on SEP? Specifically, GB SEP / Bosch 34mm 1000cc/min, 96lb/hr@43PSI Injectors?? I am using the Terminator X on my Gen 4, 6.0 LS swap.
What's your opinion on fuel injector clinic injectors? That's what I bought for my car but I haven't finished assembly yet. Edit: just got to the part where you said fuel injector clinic as you second option Also, I have the course and missed out on the deal for them because I didn't check first. Live and learn.
I had similar issues with cheap injectors. It took me a while to narrow it down. From now on, it is worth the extra few bucks to get some decent injectors and not have to deal with that again.
I had sep injectors, one stuck open, one would intermittently cut out which melted a piston, replaced with a set of some odd 3/4 length bosch units, been running perfectly ever since.
Joe, i have a N/A 5.3 LS swap in my c10. I have a cam and thats it. What injectors should i run? Im having problems with my terminator x going into closed loop and learn mode. I have a feeling these stock injectors are my problem
Anyone know what EGT is too high for a single turbo 351W 70mm E85 with the holly Term x? EGT Mounted 12 inches from the driver side collector before turbo. My bronco is running 900 EGT on idle and it’s scarry.
I want to add, sure you can look at the AE tables as they are being using but you can't get a good log of what is actually going on with the AE PW vs the overall PW, since the parameter does not exist.
I'm in no way saying their QC guarantees anyone else having the same experience I have, but I've done the entire power tour and put another 3000 miles on my snake eater 100 lb injectors. I even ordered their extra cheap super china ones before they started offering the "same factory as bosch german sourced" injectors. I quit making any major tune changes 6 months ago and mainly have just been racking miles and I check in every now and then on the tune to make sure it's not going nuts. I ordered them being cheap thinking I'd blow up the bottom end learning to tune a turbo car for the first time anyways. If they fail however, I've got enough time and money dumped into the build that I'll end up going with nice name brand ones next time.
How do you feel about Deatschwerks injectors? I bought a set of 16U-00-0050 50# injectors and they ran great with my generic Chinese sheet metal intake, then I swapped to a LSX-RT intake with their 17U-21-0050 and I can't seem to get it to run no matter what I do tuning wise. (yes, I entered the new injector data lol) I pressure/smoke tested the intake just in case it was warped or just had a bad vacuum leak, but it's sealed up with no leaks.
I will be new to hooking up the Holly and you mentioned before when it comes to electrical do not skimp so I purchased a set of Holly hundred pound injectors to go with the Holly Terminator x. I figured I can't go wrong with that. I hope.
i've had vehicles be fine for 10-20 drives and then have weird shit like this. Sometimes it was injectors, sometimes it was O2s. Poorly positioned O2 installs cause early failure too.
ID or FIC for injectors Brand new. Anything used even those fresh flow sheet. This way no body wastes there time and things are not hurt due to injectors.
They sound like they need to familiarize themselves with Holley better. And my buddies nearly new snake eater 1000s had an injector stick wide open after a pull. Stranded us. Snake eater blamed him for swapping o rings on one injector. Which he didn’t do. Installed them right out of the box
To be good at anything, You have to be obsessed. sence i have limited brain Function and im not a racer. I think my Attempting to learn to tune at a Level 40% of What jo can do. Would be like Going to medical school because I have a broken ankle. By the time I figure it out. It will have grown back together all Crooked.
Joe ! I Love the little clips you insert into the video's ! Must take bunches of time to find and edit those in, but to me - Its worth all of it!

People judge the shit out of me for spending what I spent on ID1050x's in my LQ4 C10 swap, I got 99 problems, but the injectors ain't one.
Those injectors are one of best on the market for high impedance , next to the larger 1350cc's from ID.
@@norb231 I have the ID1300's in my Mustang because it runs exclusively on E85 and wanted the stainless steel body.
Stainless body are nice. FIC sells some to that are. Both those companies we have used exclusively for injectors for years now. Money well spent.

Enjoyed the tech video. So much to learn from your videos. Kind regards Rex in New Zealand
Great content Joe! Out here doing the lords work
Lessons in every video. Many thanks.

"tricked" into taco bell"

I am suspecting injector issues on my terminator stealth TBI. What kind of quality are they and can they be upgraded to higher quality?
"But my buddy decapped his OEM injectors with an angle grinder and his car runs fine." I laugh every time a customer says this lol

Great video as always 👍 i have your tune trilogy and thank you its helped tremendously

Added timing will reduce exhaust temps assuming something else isn't goofy. (late ignition has fuel burning as it leaves the cylinder)
I have a question, why does Holley not put accel PW in the logs? Tuning AE would be easier I feel.
I want to add, sure you can look at the AE tables as they are being using but you can't get a good log of what is actually going on with the AE PW vs the overall PW, since the parameter does not exist.

What was the issue when it was burning out o2 sensors? Excessively rich due to stuck-open injector?
Thanks
SEP1500's going strong on 4 years now. I know they aren't perfect but it's been running great and making smooth power.
Makes me want to bring my c10 to you when it’s ready to be tuned. If I do I’ll make sure it has AC.
I have a terminator x that reads dead lean on start up for about 10 seconds. Is there anything common you see with those?
I will be new to hooking up the Holly and you mentioned before when it comes to electrical do not skimp so I purchased a set of Holly hundred pound injectors to go with the Holly Terminator x. I figured I can't go wrong with that. I hope.
A lot of people have problems with Holley injectors. Good luck, hope it's not you.
How can I get in touch with Joe?
i've had vehicles be fine for 10-20 drives and then have weird shit like this. Sometimes it was injectors, sometimes it was O2s. Poorly positioned O2 installs cause early failure too.
ID or FIC for injectors Brand new. Anything used even those fresh flow sheet. This way no body wastes there time and things are not hurt due to injectors.
What were the new injectors
You got any videos on running a Mac valve without a dome sensor?
In my training i do. I don’t remember if i do on YT or not
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest thanks for the response was just looking into the training
Can’t stress it enough injectors can make or break your build

I looked at the file name and seen "Butthole" LOL
ID and FIC are my only
Options I sell!
Sounds like Snake Eater injector problems
I think they were Holley injectiors watch from 12:30 and on
@@aggarage6957 :o
My snake eaters were great. My holleys failed multiple times
Buckle up Joe.

Alway love 9 when someone uses a self threading sheet metal screws for grounds. Not much metal fo metal contact inconsistent ground
Hey where you located
Deka 80 best budget option
I went through this with FICs. e85 destroyed them over and over.
Thanks...
Did you get the vengansa from Taco Bell 😅 My wife whom touched him with 10 foot pole😂
SEP gang
ID or FID injectors... I wont buy anything else anymore.
🤔
That is not much hp honestly ! A naturally aspirated 383 will make almost or as much with no turbo
Who the hell wants a naturally aspirated combo.
Turn the boost controller a few times and this will make 800.
Excuse him boomers can't comprehend turbos or efi.
Where are you located?
