Yes!! I’m so glad to see a reaction to Whiskey Myers. Check out ‘Bury My Bones’ or ‘Ballad Of A Southern Man’ next. Hopefully this leads you down a road of similar country/red dirt bands/artists like Blackberry Smoke, Turnpike Troubadours(An Oklahoma Band), Randy Rogers Band, Mike And The Moonpies, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Whitey Morgan, Sturgill Simpson, Sierra Ferrell, Sierra Hull, Morgan Wade, Billy Strings, etc...
I can't believe you found this song. This is the saddest song I have ever heard. It really packs a punch. Six foot tall American males are socialized (in the 60s and 70s) not to cry. It projects weakness. Thats all I am going to say.
@@YomamaAhippo Its because you are being taught it is a sign of weakness, which you know is a fallacy. A real man faces his emotions and deals with them appropriately.
These guys are from not far from where I'm from, we apparently share a close friend. True story, the aforementioned and the song. Check out "Bury My Bones" by 'em, another very good song. Peace and blessings to you and your's.
I must live under a rock, this is the first time I’ve heard Whiskey Myers……it will not be the last, thanks for the song and for those who suggested it! Man I’ve got to get out more and switch off classic rock..😎🍺🇨🇦
Stone is another deep song of theirs. Also, check out Ballad of a Southern Man (about the lead singer growing up on a prison farm), and Bar, Guitar, and Honky Tonk Crowd (a more upbeat and fun song). The last two make tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I've never heard this song before. So lyrically powerful...got me all in my emotions over here. Holy Crap that was excellent...a new song for my Playlist.
Never ever lose that tenderness or sensitivity. Far from being a weakness, compassion serves us well through life. Feeling another's pain is a mark of true humanity and should be embraced as a gift. Stay true to it! Another great reaction, my friends! ❤❤❤
Colter Wall, Zac Brown Band, Cody Johnson, Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson… there are some great, relatively newer artists/songwriters really saving country music right now
Yes, they are mainly a Country/Southern Rock group. I first heard of them when this beautiful song came out in 2011. Cody Cannon is the lead singer & plays the harmonica. Thanks for the pick. Suggest "Virginia" or "Ballad of a Southern Man" & from their latest album "John Wayne" w/the official video (amazing visuals).
The story is this is a true story about a childhood friend of his, y'all need to do "Stone" "Ballad of a Southern man" and a bunch more of theirs, and while you're on this sound you really ought to react to some Ryan Bigham "Southside of heaven" "hallelujah" "the weary kind" anything by Ryan is pretty much amazing
New song for me, and as I listened to the lyrics they started weighing on me. But it never fails, if Amber gets a little misty - I do too. It just pushes me over the edge. Great song. Thanks for surprising me.
OKLAHOMA's own Turnpike Troubadours are the best of the Red Dirt bunch! Any work but Before the Devil Knows You're Dead shows how talented they all are.
Love Blackberry Smoke! I’ve seen a lot of the classics of country and rock live during the last 40 years, but BlackBerry Smoke is awesome and even better LIVE! Total southern rock bluesy country rock in’ fire! Start with Leave A Scar, Ain’t Much Left Of Me, or Good One Coming On.
Been begging yall to do this one for almost a year Thank you!!! I'm 61 years old and cry every time I listen to it. Being a true story (watch the live video), and the absolute simplicity of the chorus "I thought you should know", plus just the 2 players with just guitar and harmonica, this song is one of if not the best I've ever heard. The detail of the lyric is transcendental. I knew it would pull at your hearts as it does mine. Amazing song!!!
Kudos for reacting to Whiskey Myers. They are from about 30 miles south of me. Check out Uncle Lucius for more great music of this type. Both had their music played on Yellowstone.
Saw them the first time 10 years ago and never miss them when they play Houston. The boys from Palestine, Texas bring it every night. As a Texan we have watched them climb the ladder to success.
Whiskey Myers is a rock band, more Southern than anything. Best bunch of guys ever, who put on a splendid live show. Just released their newest (5th) album in July and touring their butts off. I don't have a particular favorite song because they're all good. The Reckoning is one that feels like it needs to follow this song. 🔥
Never heard of this band but what an amazing heartbreaking song. My high school boyfriend had just stopped doing meth and turning his life around when he was killed by a drunk driver. This song really hit home for me. Thank you for reacting to it
I'm excited for you to get in to some of these new outlaw country artists. Check out Hayes Carll, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, and Sturgill Simpson...you'll love them!
I’ve heard of Whiskey Myers and seen them on Yellowstone on TV and I’ve heard a few of their songs before but this is the first I’ve heard this one and it’s really quite excellent. It’s a great road trip song too, especially when you’re driving cross country through open range or farmland for miles and miles. I’ll have to check out more of their music!
Whiskey Myers are great. Try some Sturgill Simpson, Livin’ the Dream and Tyler Childers, Nose on the Grindstone, our vinyl sessions. They are both really good and Jay will get plenty of twang. Great watching you happy young folks, you do what you say, making us smile. God bless!
I've watched this song take so many people down the Whiskey Myers rabbit hole... every single one of them were glad they did! And if you want to talk about killer live bands, these guys need to be in the conversation.
So glad you've finally checked out Whiskey Myers - they have sooooooo many great songs!! "Stone" and "The Reckoning" are absolute musts .. "John Wayne" and "Heart of Stone" from their latest album are amazing .. "Early Morning Shakes", "Bury My Bones", "Gasoline", "Ballad of a Southern Man" and "Bad Weather" are great choices as well. My wife turned me onto them and we went to see them in concert a few months ago, the next day I downloaded every single one of their albums on iTunes!! Dive in, the whiskey is fine!! :)
I strongly recommend Blackberry Smoke!!!! And another band is The Cadillac Three...they're another country/southern rock type band...Check out the songs The South or Bury Me In My Boots or Danged If We Did!
Whiskey Myers most famous song is probably "Ballad of a Southern Man" but they have a lot of great songs, 6 albums so far. Some other good songs are "Reckoning" and "Trailer We Call Home."
to start off with I want to say I love you guys you're one of the best reactions on TH-cam. this beautiful heartbreaking song just jumped up and bit me. God I miss my wife, depression is a horrible thing. never let a day pass by where you do not tell them that you love them whoever they might be. keep on sharing your honest reactions and keep on loving each other.
Gotta check out "Stone" by Whiskey Myers. Tyler Childers has the same vibe. But I did see a mention of Blackberry Smoke and that is a must( Check out "One Horse Town" ). Just saw them in concert. A must see.

They just opened for The Black Crowes a couple of nights ago in Miami, Ok. They've also opened for The Rolling Stones at Soldier Field in Chicago a couple of years ago at Mick Jagger's request. These guys are blowing up huge & completely independent. No mainstream radio play. Y'all should check out another Oklahoma band, Read Southall Band. Those guys are awesome.
Absolutely LOVE Whiskey Myers. Other similar artist in the past decade like them you should also check out are Band Of Heathens, and Tyler Childers. The song “Hurricane” by Band Of Heathens is outstanding.
I never heard of this artist. But I will definitely check out more and this reaction shows why we love Amber so much. I love how much she empathizes with every emotion and every song. Jay, you are a very lucky man. Amber, you are a beautiful soul.
Im 65 and have been a WM fan since their beginning in 2009. Whiskey Myers reminds of the 70's Southern Rock. My humbly suggest "Gasoline" It STINKIN ROCKS!!!
Love Whiskey Myers.. saw them live several years ago (before they got more recognition on Yellowstone) at a 4th of July Celebration in Gainesville, TX for free... I loved them then and still do now. They are a great Texas band!
Watching someone slip away from meth is heartbreaking. To see those who beat that addiction is a thing of beauty. Been there. This song does have triggers.
Love your reactions to all kinds of music. This is a great song by a great band. Another band kind of like them that I really love from Canada is Blue Rodeo. Highly recommend them. Songs like “Lost Together“, “Hasn’t Hit me Yet“, “Five Days in May“, and “Bad Timing“ are all awesome
You both wrung more from this song, more tears.... We may or may not know somebody from this but it is magic.... feel the magic on your face, as the lyrics end....
Ballad of a Southern Man should be your next song by Whiskey Meyers followed by “Stone” and “Virginia.” Need to check out some Texas country music bands like Randy Rogers Band, Cody Jinks, Aaron Watson, Eli Young Band, Josh Abbot Band, Stoney LaRue…just to name a few
This song is a great song. But their song "stone" is a legit musical master piece in my mind. Think yall would really be impressed by that song. For a different reason.
Oh yeah! Love it! ✌❤🎶 Omg! This is a new one for me. I have a nephew and niece on that stuff. It's so hard to see what they are doing to themselves. And nothing I can do but pray 🙏 😢
This band is literally from the town I grew up in, Palestine Tx I know all their families. Y'all need to check out their song "Different Mold" it's an absolute banger
Saw Whiskey Myers this summer. I actually went to the show to see the opening act, Goodbye June. You should check out their biggest song, Daisy. I bet Jordan has heard the guitar riff on Sunday night football.
Never heard of Whiskey Myers
They're fantastic.
More Whiskey Myers 👍

Whiskey Myers portray the house band in the bar that Beth frequents in the show Yellowstone. Their music is a regular fixture in the show.
And Ryan Bingham plays in Yellowstone and the show also features his music!
I really like Whiskey Myers. "Stone" and "Bury my Bones" are my favorites by them.
Especially the acoustic Stone
bury my bones is so fucking good
