Nice 16hp unit! I just fully restored my 1986 430 this winter and turned the fuel up and added a smoke stack. You can turn the fuel up wit hthe fuel screw on the injection pump just like a 12v Cummins as it looks likeyou did! Love it The Yanmar is a bad engine!

I have a 330 and ordered a turbo for it a couple weeks ago lol. Thanks for the great video. I have seen pictures of other turbo 330s but no videos so I’m glad I have a better idea of what I’m getting myself into..
It’s not too bad if you just take your time and test fit everything.

i have the same mower just in yanmar colors, and i have a garrett vgt gt1546 on it, did that about 10 years ago ported the compressor housing or the “T51r” mod as people know it, just i put piston oil cooling nozzles in the block and a small water/air charge air cooler 😁✌🏻and it makes 5lbs but be aware you will smoke the mower clutch

Great job! My 332 has plenty of power stock ( I only use it with the front end loader) but I also put the same engine in my excavator, and it needs a little extra power! I would love to put a turbo on that machine !!!

Very cool! I have 2 Kubota diesel garden tractors that I would love to do this to! One is a two cylinder and the other a three cylinder diesel.

There’s a golf cart on TH-cam with one of these yanmar 3 cylinders, it’s got stiffer valve springs, a lot of pump work, a compound turbo setup on it, and is paired to a six speed motorcycle transmission. It makes around 30psi on stock internals, and absolutely rips. Nice job with yours though!

How’s the turbo holding up on your 330? Used it much since you put it on? Really wanting to see how much vibration those 90 degree pipe fittings can take before they brake. Only reason I’m asking is because I want to do the same thing on my 332. And those fittings look to be the fast way the mount the turbo.

That came out really nice. fits like factory, and almost looks like it too. Need some more mods now, intake for noise and an intercooler at least. Also the boost gauge is a must, I want to know how much, or should I say how low boost it makes.
I would add a EGT gauge.
You'd be surprised. My buddy has a cub cadet garden tractor with a 3cyl Kubota close to the same displacement and it makes 20psi...

You should have done a before and after dyno pull on the motorcycle dyno, for shits and giggles 👍love it when you do off the wall builds. Miss the RC jet
this is one of the neatest builds ive seen...
crank the max fuel up... the nut on the front of the pump. wind screw out one turn.
remove a shim or two from under the pump rack, get some advance.
lift the max rpm up a bit. 4200 is fine... some people just take the governor off altogether. im not that keen on blowing up my 35 year old engine.
i tracked down a billet compressor wheel thats a direct fit.
lot of playing with various turbos.. compound... hybrid... equal length headers...
in the end im back on the vz21 and a log.
was this a "lets see if i can do this?" ...and can you feel more power? ...was thing about doing this to my kubota..good vid

You might end up cutting the fuel back a little bit, if you're under a full load and the smoke doesn't clear up, it should just be a little haze when you're at full boost it should only smoke until the turbo builds its full boost, I'm not sure how good the head gaskets are on these engines but they're pretty bulletproof.

Pulling a lot of weight up a hill or cutting very heavy grass or running a snowblower is where you're really going to see the benefits of that thing it doesn't take much with a diesel, 1 psi will make a difference.

There's plenty of lawn mowers with diesels in them. You can even get some SxS with a diesel in it as well.
