The best GEFILTE FISH I have ever eaten was prepared by a Roumanian Jewish friend of me, and we have eaten with khrem and carp's head jam, and she has served cold and sweet ... I mean, she had taken it to the refrigerator for some hours... mmmm, it was wonderful !!!
I’m making it exactly how you said but do I cover or simmer without lid?! Update: made this and it was a complete hit!🙏🏾 making again this way for this passover and for every Passover👏🏽👏🏽😁😁😁
Most recipes call for simmering the balls for an hour and a half to three hours. Your recipe call for 20 minutes. Can you overcook or undercook this dish?

I bought "ready to serve" gefilte jelly broth, it stinks.

I really want to try Gefilte fish, but I'd have to make it. We only have Manichewitz and I prefer to try it homemade as opposed to canned.

I think you don’t have to cook it so long. It’s great after 20 minutes

I have seen magnificent Gefilte fish in the USA 🇺🇸 but the lady would let it cook without boiling for 90 minutes and you only 20 minutes
That was a healthy dollop of horseradish! My nose would be on fire
i'm not jewish, i'm a gypsy, but i would use chili sauce, garlic powder, cumin, instead of sugar because sugar on fish balls is disgusting

I can eat gefilte fish fresh, but not in a jar. I know a lot of people who eat it straight out of a jar.
I'm not a big fan of jarred gefilte by myself.
