    nice vid - I was up here today and done the munro and the 3 tops. These lads made that scramble look tougher than it actually was haha

      Good man its a good day out nice ridge walk in between the tops. The scramble down was a wee bit dodgy due to some very slippy rocks if i remember correctly would be worse in the winter.

    I was once on an estate on the other side of that loch. I was there with the father in law who was there for a pheasant shoot. Great video Peter, we are very lucky to have scenery like that in Scotland. Cheers ATB Glenn

    Another cracking video Peter! I was in the area 6 days later, cycled from Killin to Balquhidder along the Rob Roy Way. Should've taken the hiking boots... :-)

      It was the actual ridge itself i was scared of,the week before that i had climbed Beinn an Lochain,i took the fear,lol,started shaking,vomiting and crying,lol,got to the summit and i couldn't even stand up,that used to be a Munro and got downgraded to a corbett,so think it's been in an angry mood ever since,lol,i was in preparation for going on holiday to climb The Suilven and Stac Polallaidh,took the fear on them to,lol,had to go back up on another holiday to complete the Suilven,yet i have climbed worse than them,lol,Buachaille Etive Mor is my all time favourite so far,i will watch more of your vid's,thanks peter,x

    Well done you. I need to walk this with my wife but the bit you filmed wi the two guys getting doon what you described as the slippy bit is a bit too much i think. Thanks for sharing this video, it's awesome. I live just outside Edinburgh so if you ever fancy doing this again id like to tag along :)

      Thanks my friend. The ascent from Meall Garbh was a bit dodgy, I think i had some ice to put up with too.

      What do you use to take photo's / videos, i just bought a GoPro hero 5 black ?

    • @MUNROSnCORBETTS
      @MUNROSnCORBETTS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      During these earlier days i used Cannon cameras. Eventually i realised how rotten they were and i now have a Sony Cybershot which is a great camera. I also have a GoPro Hero 3 which i keep for scrambling.

    £200 to climb up mountains,why can't i get that job! Supposed to be good for the next 10 days going to saltcoats this weekend and out with Matt the next one.You going to take advantage of the weather Peter?
    Another good one i always like your vids,did boring bit of WHW,a section is boring but overall a good start.I think i go for my 1st munro in august/sept...Beinn na lap,supposed to be one of the easiest.I'm glad they didn't fall during the descent just shows your only a slip away from injury

    Great vid! Are the Munro tops just the summit's of other munros? Or is that a different classification to a Munro?

    • @MUNROSnCORBETTS
      @MUNROSnCORBETTS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Angus! I would say you are spot on Munro Tops are over 3000ft but dont meet the rules set by the SMC (Scottish Mountaineering Club) of prominence & Separation etc. I find it strange sometimes as i could be standing on a Munro Top of well over 3000ft and then walk some distance to a summit much lower and that is classed as the real Munro you will see a lot of this scenario up in the CairnGorm Plateau where there are loads of points well over 3000ft but it is the much lower points that get Munro status. From memory i would say there are over 200 Munro Tops in Scotland and i know of some people who have climbed them all(nutters) lol! Take care, peter :))

    If you parked at the car park near the dam. You’ve already drove 1500 ft.up. So 1500 ft less to do. Should have started at the main rd. but I did the same as you. Lol.

    • @MUNROSnCORBETTS
      @MUNROSnCORBETTS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True but if some nice people take time to build a car park then its only good manners that we use it :)

  • @harrisonconnie3257
    @harrisonconnie3257 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The ridge was crackin', but like you said, the last wee decent from Meall Garbh was a little dodgy yea :)
    As much as it was dodgy, I feel the need to do this walk in the winter, that would be super...

    You haven't happened to do any of the Tyndrum hills yet (Ben Lui, Beinn Chleibh, Ben Oss, Beinn Dubhchraig) have you?

    You're very good at film-scouting our routes too, Peter! At 17:47 min's i noticed that this metal thing over there is still in it's place :-) About "This bit was steep and slippy", yeah, it's called the Bad Step. But it's nothing if one compares the feature with the Ring of Steall eeh?
    B.t.w. are you baggin' all of your Munros solo?
    Keep the good work up!

    • @MUNROSnCORBETTS
      @MUNROSnCORBETTS  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Wilco, I wish i had my gopro3 for the "steep an slippy" bit it would have shown how steep it really was. Yes i prefer to bag my munros alone, Its were i get my peace an quiet. take care, peter.

      ***** Looking at this one again Peter! What editing software do you use for processing the GoPro footage? Having a fight with the constraints of WindowsMovieMaker and GoProStudio! Now diggin' into AdobePremier. Pfff ...

    • @MUNROSnCORBETTS
      @MUNROSnCORBETTS  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wilco de Jonge Wilco i also use Gopro studio and i havent had any problems with it. Once it has all been converted etc i just then use windowsmoviemaker and i have no problems with it.

      I did the ridge a few years ago, just before the bad step I sailed past an elderly couple then gingerly worked my way down the step to be met at the bottom by the same couple, little did I realise there was a very simple bypass, the knowing gents first word's were " you would never catch me going down there". Lesson learnt.

      @MUNROSnCORBETTS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, If you are familiar with the road that leads up to the Ben Lawers car park the car park for this route is about half a mile further up on the left easy to spot :)

    Your good with the Gallic. I cant pronounce these hill and place names really, I usually get em wrong, I read them on the map and think their pronounced this way but there not their pronounced that way, the locals put me right, ha.
