just slapped this scope on my new Weatherby .460 Magnum Mark V... it sits at 100 yards dead on with the Elevation set at the bottom... I have almost 70 MOA of up travel now and can shoot at 700 yards with the center of the reticle.

being able to run a rig like that with knowledge like that, is what shooting is all about! its a very very fun science ;)

Leupold is nice and Nikon as well. I like them both. I also have Vortex Viper and I don't have any problem with it yet. Will buy VX6 HD in few days for long range rifle.

I disagree about the Nikon. They make nice cameras but their riflescopes are POS.

I agree with you I don't care much for their scopes they are very fragile they use very thin tubes

Leupold's warranty is second to none. Vortex doesn't back their product any more than Leupold does. BTW I cant stand the Chinese made Vortex.

How much trouble does the fixed parallax cause you? Do you wish you had adjustable parallax?

I just ordered the 3-15x56 mm VX-5HD because I wanted the large 56 mm objective, and the lenses are of identical quality. I thought the VX-6HD 3-18x50mm objective lens was a bit small in low light for something that goes up to 18X. I like Cabela's, however, in Canada they charge at least $300 more (+ sales tax) than Bass Pro Shops and other dealers for the VX-5 HD. And their markup in Canada is even more for the VX-6 line.

Will Branson what the heck that's so strange🤣

    • @willbranson3216

Not sure what you mean. I try to choose my words carefully. I was trying to warn Canadian customers that if they want to buy a VX-5 or VX-6 series Leupold scope, they should avoid buying it from Cabela's in Canada. For example, a 3-15x44 mm VX-5HD (Firedot duplex reticle) is 899.00 US, while it's $1399.00 CDN here. That's way more than the exchange rate, because Bass Pro shops down the road sells exactly the same model scope for $1095.00 CDN!!
The 3-18x50mm VX-6HD (with the same Firedot duplex reticle) is $1699.99 at both Cabelas and Bass Pro shops in the USA, but a ridiculous $2599.99 Cdn. here. Then add 13% additional sales tax on those differences. In fact, Cabela's charges way more for pretty well all shooting supplies. Another example: At Cabela's, I just picked up some Hornady Superperformance 243 Win ammo @51.99 per box. Bass Pro Shop's price (just down the highway from Cabela's) is $39.99. The Wheeler Engineering scope mounting leveler is $80.00 at Cabela's, and $65.00 at Bass Pro Shops. Ditto for their markup on guns too.
My point was to warn Canadian customers to stay away from Cabela's unless they're a masochist and enjoy paying through the nose; or the store has the item they're seeking on sale. (Which is seldom, unless it's junk.)

Where does the glass come from? I’ve asked this question on many leupold reviews and know one replies. Which makes me think China. I don’t like that thought lol

    • @Graysonemory
      @Graysonemory  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've heard so many people say different things but they don't make it easy to find where it comes from but just cause it's made out of America doesn't mean it's bad. America doesn't have good sand to make glass on our beaches. Japan has the best sand I've heard to make glass. American sand is no good.

@@brianc6739 I haven't got my hands on it but I have full faith in it just from reading about it. Looks like a great mid class scope! They bring the value with that scope I feel like. That HD coating they put on there makes it damn near a night vision scope. It makes night time really bright and if you got any moon light it'll allow you to see pretty well at night.

dude, you got screwed for 1900 bucks, hell, you could have bought a Vortex AMG for that price, which is by the way made in the usa and twice the scope... Leupold is known in the precision rifle world for their known tracking issues and outdated features. Bet they didn't teach you that at Cabelas. Other than that, good video...

Leupold makes all their scopes in Oregon. Only their laser rangefinders are made in China. Their service and support is terrific. I called the custom shop last year for a CDS dial. Told them I was going to Africa in 2 weeks. They engraved the dial and I had it in 4 days.

No Tracking issues on mine. 16.8 ounces compared to 28 ounces on the AMG. Made in America. Beautiful glass! Better than AMG to my eye. If there was a tracking issue, Leupold would back it up.
