    The pronlem with LDV dual cab pickup is the rust proffing is poor as stated by an independent expert used in a law suit by a owner over the level of rust in the vehicle after 1 year. LDV lost the case and had to refund the owner.

      @glennrmarks 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chillfluencer No, easily solved if LDV wants to, but then they wouldn't be so cheap. In my opinion, it's a choice they make for a cheaper product. I recently worked on a 12-month-old LDV deliver 9 van, and rust spots were forming on the outside track for the sliding door. SAIC owns LDV along with other companies, MG is one of them, and I haven't heard about rust problems with them.

    It is 2024 now, still not sure this will be coming to Aus. Hope so. RHD converted F150 Lightning is here, and a soft roader RHD from factory Subaru / BZ4X is here now. Its a good start. I doubt the USA have much interest in RHD market, I suspect our trucks and 4wds will come from the Eastern and/or Pacific regions.

    If this is priced competitively in Australia it will give the Hilux and Ranger a run for their money. If it's stupidly priced like the first LDV Ute then it probably won't sell that well.

    Big chunky looking vehicle and you talk about the performance of it in glowing terms. I don't know for sure but it doesn't look as though it could carry a 2.4x 1.2 metre (8x4ft) sheet of plywood in the tray. I ask then. What good is that? Maybe it is more of something other than a truck.

    Interesting. Did not specificlly state 4x4, only implied(tank turn)
    Not a hint of a flatdeck option. Why does there seem to be an unwritten law that flat decks are illegal? Farmers, tradies and campers (removable) would be the obvious target market.
    Tow rating: NZ and Au both have 3.5 ton rating, a heavier EV should handle this weight better than their lighter ICE competition.
    Range: 600km is serious, and a realistic rural contender in Australia and easily so in New Zealand.
    The ability to run 240v and recharge battery gear would catch the attention of a lot of people on off grid work/campsites.
    Price??????
    Killer: Is there electricity to recharge these vehicles?

  • @terryward1422
    @terryward1422 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Also explain to S.A.I.C that the GST should have "Pro" model that is a stripped down version for the commercial markets. By that I mean rubber floor mats, no chrome or bling and a smaller batter good for 500 km. There is a huge market for this kind of truck amoung the price sensitive consumer. If there was an affordable "Pro" model price sensitive consumers might buy a new EV UTE instead of a used ICE UTE because the total cost of ownership is less.
    Think about a rancher who needs a UTE to pick up feed in town where the two way trip might be less than 200 km.
    Think about the farmer who needs to bring in produce to the local farmers market.
    Think about the small contractor who just drives around town doing jobs for local businesses and home owners.

  • @terryward1422
    @terryward1422 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    S.A.I.C could make deep inroads into the UTE market if they provide a compelling vehicle for the addressable markets. Including a mass market version of the GST would go along way to promote Chinese made EVs. This is their game to lose...
