Fun fact, they had to slow down the footage of the two actors because Hayden (Anakin) and Ewan (obi-wan) were actually moving that fast. They trained for months for this.

I think it still does at least from what i checked a few months ago! Its the best Lightsaber duel between 2 Legendary Characters so they deserve a Long Duel besides they know each others moves
The prequels could've had so many more dope ass extended fight scenes. A lot got cut, but Nick Gillard's full choreography is available for many of the fights

Obi Wan didn’t cut his stomach, he lost his left arm and both legs to Obi Wan. Later on he would get cybernetic prosthetics to operate the suit he gets.
Not to mention that what happened afterward scorched his lungs so badly he had to spend the rest of his life walking around in an armoured life-support apparatus.

@@ElectiveAlloy3 I don't know if this is canon, but some stories have described the suit as a combination of a life support system and a torture chamber, designed by Palpatine to be intentionally uncomfortable, and even painful, to be in. That was supposedly a punishment for Anakin/Vader's failure on Mustafar. Again, I don't know if that part is canon, but I wouldn't put it past Palpatine to do that. I've also heard that it was intentionally made vulnerable to electric shocks so that Palpatine would be able to use Force Lightning to easily foil any attempts by Vader to turn against him, as the Force Lightning would essentially short out or shut down his suit's life support system.
@@Ben_Kimber That was canon pre-Disney. I don't remember reading that in their new canon but Vader has been able to survive without his life support for an extended period of time solely through his hatred/rage fueling him (much like Maul after being severed in half). He once deliberately turned it off to get the drop on Tarkin and his crew during a training exercise as well.

To be fair. That ISN'T anakin. That's darth vader. BIG difference there is. And I always tough that it was 50% anakin fault,40% palpatine's and 10% the jedi's fault that anakin fell to the dark side

Sidious IS Palpatine, that was what most of the prequels were leading up to. He was manipulating both sides to eventually get himself declared Emperor. He confesses everything to Anakin after having manipulated him for more than a decade, orchestrating the Jedi attempt to arrest and execute him, which leads Anakin to fall to the dark side trying to defend him.
I was wondering one thing. When Palpatine would suggest something in front of Yoda, Yoda always glanced at him like he hated him. Do you think Yoda knew Palpatine was Sidious, or he just suspected, or he didn’t like that Palpatine involved himself in Jedi affairs?
@peterversionone No definitely not. The whole issue was that the Jedi couldn't see the dark side at all. They didn't trust Palpatine for sure, but that's because they looked at him as a shady politician. That's why even Mace Windu was surprised when Anakin told him Palpatine was a Sith Lord, because he had been right under their noses the whole time.
There are some events which takes place in Star Wars: The Clone Wars which Makes him fall to the dark side as well. After the second battle of Geonoscis. He is struggling one of the geonocians with the force chocke when interrogating the prisoner.
Obi-wan beat anakin’s last move so easily because Anakin overestimated himself. He thought he not to use his full power but a smaller amount because of his ego. He also lost because what anakin did was parallel to Obi-wan defeating Darth Maul. A force jump from the lower ground to get behind the opponent and deal the final strike. Obi-wan knew exactly what he was going to do because he did it before, winning him the exchange.
There’s actually a ps3 (I think) game where you can play this fight and win as anakin. He doesn’t hold back and obiwan is more tired, which ends with him cutting obi-wan in half (I think in half), killing him
The Star Wars films (all six of them) have to be put on the big screen again so that your generation can enjoy them as much as past generations ❤
Phantom menace is doing 25th anniversary reruns in theaters in early may! I saw some ads on TikTok, and a few poster at my local theater.
Anakin's immolation was far more traumatic than you think.
For starters, not only was he now a quadriplegic with third degree burns all over his body, but the fire actually melted his ear drums, damaged his eyes, burned his lungs (hence the breathing Vader does) and left him in searing pain for the rest of his life.
Not only that, but as the Force is generated by living tissue, Anakin losing all four of his limbs as well as his whole body burned meant that he was nowhere near as powerful as I could've been. Darth Vader could never be as powerful as Anakin Skywalker could have been. Which makes it all the more frightening when you remember just how powerful Vader still managed to be.

Reminder Obi-Wan is the master of the _Low Ground._ He beats Maul and Grievous from below and he finishes Anakin when Anakin jumps over him, giving him the low ground.
Palpatine *is* Sidious. Just as Anakin's sith name is Vader, Palpatine's sith name is Sidious.

Obi-Wan was on the defensive during the entire fight (yes, I know Soresu focuses on that but he very rarely had time to counter attack), Anakin was very unstable for many reasons, and there was plot armor of Obi-Wan facing him again on the death star, so he "had" to survive.
Realistically, if it weren't for Kenobi's high ground plot armor, Anakin definitely would have won 🔥🔥
And then, without his suit's limitations, he would have grown exponentially more powerful 🔥🔥
Lmao not even close. Only thing true about your statements was the last one; had Anakin not been suited and continued to grow he would have become by far the strongest Force User ever.
At this time, we literally see Obi-Wan match Anakin in Force Push. Anakin was going for the kill while Obi-Wan didn't want to have to kill Anakin, so two completely different mindsets.
Gillard and Lucas both stated Anakin and Obi-Wan were 8s in this movie. Anakin going to Vader indeed amped him to a 9, but that was a massive chasm he jumped without learning properly as he got that strong so he couldn't hone his power.
It's canon that Vader in the suit is stronger than Vader in Ep III during his fight with Obi-Wan; he is no where NEAR his prime here.
Anakin's fatal flaw was always trying to prove himself. Call it plot armor, but his own mindset made him make that mistake of "outdoing" Obi wan. Also (fun fact), Anakin was obsessed with the one moe Obi Wan used to defeat Maul, when he was doing that flip, he was trying to defeat Obi Wan the same way Obi Wan defeated Maul.
One correction. In canon, Vader was actually more powerful than Anakin ever was
@overseer-01 not sure who you're correcting, but while Vader was stronger it was only because Anakin was so young when he got burnt, leaving Vader more time to gain knowledge. That's like saying a 40 year old master, albei injured would beat a powerful yet unstable 23 year old.
Losing limbs canonically lost him power. A 40 year old Vader would get pulverized by a 40 year old Anakin.

the video's title is wrong ..t ehcnically this is Obi versus Vader, this is theri first time fighting each other. but at this point anakin was compeltely gone he was Vader , even if a young vader. they didn't turn on the self destruct .. they hit the panel that controlled the heat shielding on the structure. bassically maing teh structure vulnerable to the lava.

I’m sorry to say but this is not the best duel. Nothing can top Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan vs Maul
