As stated this is 3.5 k years before a the events in the movies. But the game has been a constant in my gaming rotation for as long as it has existed. It still holds up and does an awesome job if you love the lore of pulling you into your own adventure. Especially if you take your time and don't race through it (if you want though that is an option).
Probably my favorite era of Star Wars I wish we could get movies or tv shows based in this era, this is over 3000 years prior to the skywalker era, Star Wars lore even goes back 100,000 years prior to this long before even the Jedi where around
This era was when the jedi were at their peak/height of power. Sith adopted light sabers as an insult to jedi since they would mainly use sith artifacts (like gauntlets, necklaces) and bladed sith weapons when in combat. Also after reading some comics killing a sith and a jedi wasn't that hard back then. All it took was one slip up and you not concentrating and you were taken out. Also it was hella easy to fall/to join the darkside like hella instant.
The later trailers with all the yellow sabers, the two brothers and the emperor guy are for the Eternal Empire saga (triple expansions/trilogy), probably the best and sickest piece of Star Wars content ever written and produced
Always glad to see a new fan like me. I dived into Star Wars through this game. Its a blast. Im really not into the canon stuff only watched the Prequel Trilogy when I was a kid though the Old Republic Universe feels far greater then the Prequel Films or any Canon Star Wars stuff currently. I played KOTOR 1/2 , Still playing from time to time SWTOR and hoping to see the KOTOR Remake one day.
We nerds are still waiting for them to do something with the old republic era. It was a war between the old republic, the new emperor, the mandalorians, & re-emerging sith. Everyone was fighting everyone
That sith name is Darth Malgus and he’s the embodiment of black Air Force energy. In the lore he has a wife( the twi’lek girl with him in the Jedi temple) and he kills her so no one can use her against him. He uses the pain and anger this causes to become possibly the second most powerful sith of his time. He later declares himself emperor of a new empire and nearly succeeded in his goals. Side note Darth Vader is also a HUGE fan of Malgus.
I recommend the original SWKOTOR 1 and 2. They have cannon stories that lead into this (SWTOR MMO). Including a book called “Revan”. I suggest playing the first game as full light side, mullet head dude. Second game as Brown hair full light side woman. Those are the “cannon”. Play the full dark side playthroughs after and then listen or read the book, its ending is phenomenal. Edit: I legitimately plan to listen to the book again myself during my road trip in a few days.
There are some really good star wars audiobooks that are worth listening to. The knights of the old republic games are also great, if you like lore and stories.
If you read the Books it is written at the beginning that it is around 3000 years before the Skywalker Saga; before Vader, before Luke. The Sith you are watching is Darth Malgus who is leading the Sith Empire which had tens of thousands of Sith... long before "the Rule of Two".
Might I also add the korriban planet is this the birthplace of the species that inhabited the planet was known as sith and as time went on this species known as sith, seemingly dwindled and vanished without at trace, this species was very entuned with with the dark side of the force, meaning this species was born pure blood sith, Darth Malgus' master was the sith species, within the universe of Star wars noone to this day even knows whether or not they still exist
In that first cinematic, those two would make Darth Vader look like a complete tool, particularly Malgus. Palpatine wanted Vader to be the next Malgus but was pretty disappointed. Malgus is pretty much too angry to die. He's one hell of a nasty character. This is thousands of years before the Star Wars movies.
As others have said, The Old Republic takes place THOUSANDS of years before the main movies, so these are precursors to ANY of the sith and jedi we know, hence why there is more than 2 sith, in modern times a Sith rule is that there shall only 2 be, a Master and an Apprentice, because the Sith eventually started betraying each other and almost wiped each other out fully. so now there must ONLY be 2 Sith at once. the Troopers you see taking on Sith as well, aren't Clone Troopers or Storm Troopers either, they're Republic Troopers, which are basically just standard civilians who signed up to serve the republic, and were trained well enough to ascend to the role of Trooper which is... kind of like a 'special forces' hence why they can go 1-1 with most Sith.
Exhibit A on why an absolute masterpiece of a game, and the most unknown era of Star Wars, needs to make a comeback. I want more Old Republic in video games and films, the choreography and everything else about this is perfect. The MMO is story focused, much like early levels of Guild Wars 2 or something like Destiny, yeah there is raid content and PVP, but its far from the focus. It is the type of MMO that I can happily play through entirely solo, over and over and over. two factions, 8 classes split into 16 subclasses, 8 different stories with different outcomes based on choices, fantastic characters, allies and enemies. The Old Republic IMHO is one of the best MMOs ever made, although a lot of that bias comes from my absolute love of KOTOR and that entire era of the franchise. I know Disney has no interest in this shit, and they will continue to ruin Star Wars, but I am dreaming for this type of stuff again. Even the fan made youtube films in this era are fantastic. It is the most compelling, dark, mature section of Star Wars.
My father's side of the family and I are huge fans of Star Wars and he told me (don't know if its true by I belive it is) that the videogames George Lucas released were meant to be movies that he didn't thought the public would like so he made it into games. Honestly I would love to see a movie on the Old Republic era, not only showing the jedi side but also the sith, showing how powerful and ruthless the sith empire was. Each class of the games from both sides would make a great movie each, the sith side being in my opinion the bests. Such a shame and waste what Star Wars became in Disney's hand.
Emperor Valkorian Aka Darth Tenebrae “The Sith Emperor” is the father of the twin sons and daughter. That is why they are ultra powerful as fuck. The Bald Sith Lord is Darth Malgus. One of the most powerful sith lords to ever live. He brought the Republic and Jedi to their knees.

The Jedi because Shan, the chick with the double bladed saber, made him a cyborg and the sith because they forced him to kill the Twilek chick from the Temple attack trailer who was the only person he loved. Basically to him the Jedi and Sith are two sides of the same coin, both are more concerned with dominance than the order or balance.
Dude, that Bounty Hunter appeared way before McCree was in his daddy's balls =)
the story with the two brothers and there father is that in this time the original emperor who could bitch slap sideous, hasn't been heard from by the empire in a long time, and eventually we find out the emperor left known space after absorbing the life forces of an entire planet of jedi and sith, and while in the outer reaches he takes over another world called zakul, while he is there he creates a new faction called the eternal empire, and once his two sons were grown, he allowed them to lead a campaign to conquer both the republic and the empire he left behind, the point of the game is your character becomes the driving force and rival of the emperor whos name is valkorian at this point, and you take him down and can either become the new eternal emperor or the eternal peacekeeper, aslo the girl in the next ones is the sister to the two brothers, and the emperors daughter, she craycray
The female in mando armor is Shea Vizla the leader of the mandalorians
I wish these were the movies instead of the sequels
You Karens seriously need to move on from that
Darth Sidious or even his his master were not born until several thousands years after this :o
It was darth Malgus the ancient Sith lord
Welcome to the old republic my good friend 😁
These are way before the movies. That’s Darth Malgus and then the dark side didn’t always wear black in the old republic.
29:37 That's why the Sith "rule of 2" was invented.
Second cinematic is why the first character I made in the game was “Big Baby” Zezda. Heavy Assault canon using member (spoiler: eventual leader) of Havoc Squad! Hoorah Troopers!
Bull rushing Sith? Tanking force lightening, AND pulls a knife on Darth Malgus? That is one bad man right there. Jace a real one.
Look, I get you're new to the iceberg, but some pre-read would help avoid the pointless questions of 'Is that Vader?! Is that Maul?!'. It's Old Republic. Era with a flow of its own, thousands of years before the main events of the movies.
Darth Malgus is my absolute favorite Sith, he is the most complete Sith in all of Star Wars! :D
Satele Shan is the Descendant of Darrh Revan himself. And the bald guy is Darrh Malgus who is a powerhouse.
And Satale Shan and that Trooper have a son together. Named Theron Shan but he isnt a Jedi.
Even a old game is more Star wars than Disneys series.
Fun fact: in the third trailer, when Malgus kills Jedi Master Ven Zallow, he whispers "It's all going to burn" before letting him fall to the ground
The 4th and 5th videos have to do with a 3rd Faction that pop up from the unknown regions of the galaxy to take on the Republic and the Sith Empire.
The little girl went Dark Side as the father (the "General" dude) was an evil bastard who was deep into the Dark Side himself
The game takes place 3 thousand years before the prequels.
And that one shot with her blocking the saber. She was absorbing the energy from the kyber crystal (the power source of lightsabers) the same way Starkiller did against an imperial spider droid, and Yoda to Dooku
this is 3925 years before all the starwars you know
I envy you from the Bottom of my Heart. You got the Chance to see so many Fantasy enhancing Makings from the SW Universe for the First Time! Just enjoy it to the Fullest, as we only life once!
Stay Healthy!

Your reactions were priceless, and your comments had me rotf-lmao!!
Seeing what Disney has done and continues to do to the Star Wars IP has kept me in a dark place longer than I'd like to admit.
Seeing someone watching these videos for the first time and enjoying the story as it was meant to be was very refreshing. It brought me back to the time when Star Wars was great, a time before Disney ruined it, and to a time when fans could enjoy it together.
Before Disney took over, Star Wars was about the Story being the Agenda. Now, under Disney, the Agenda has become the Story.
Thanks for posting this video.
Nah the sith are the coldest to ever do it
Absolutely loved your reaction man!
Real as hell
You got the perfect amount of authentic reaction and quite when needed to just enjoy and soak it in
Felt like when i saw these for the first time😂
I still remember how f-ing hyped i was when those sith pulled up in the ship and they all ignited their lightsabers 🤯🤯🤯
i just came to watch a good reaction and got a laugh from the start when he starts saying how he wants to see all the characters from the hight republic and imperial era when the video is about the old republic
My man has so much to learn 😅👍 and yes, Malgus is that dude
is it just me or is the story of the Eternal Empire from SWTOR just infinitely more interesting than what we tend to get from Disney. Also that last one when Malgus shows up,he stabs dude to move him out the way,Sith just to cold!
Probably my favorite era of Star Wars I wish we could get movies or tv shows based in this era, this is over 3000 years prior to the skywalker era, Star Wars lore even goes back 100,000 years prior to this long before even the Jedi where around
i sense great darkness. 'she's talking about me'. had me. Subbed.
No, not all Zabrack race are Darth Moll) There a story that was like 3600+ years before movies events and Clone Wars
Yes this game takes place before the original and clone war movies
I do like that the twins got super messed up when fighting the Sith on Korriban. On brand for the Sith to savage them, even if they lost eventually.
The later trailers with all the yellow sabers, the two brothers and the emperor guy are for the Eternal Empire saga (triple expansions/trilogy), probably the best and sickest piece of Star Wars content ever written and produced
this is thousands years ago before the movies set in the old republic era.
Over 3600 years ago, the Sith, The Jedi, and ... Others, Rolled just a little bit harder.
These cinematics are better than the kast 3 episodes!!
You sequel haters are so immature
@@daurydavis3983 What about them, i just wanna know
Always glad to see a new fan like me.
Heh heh..... a Sith pension. That caught me off guard. Too damned funny!
red faced guy at the beginning is a sith it is a race which then becomes used as the general word for a dark side force user
the way i screamed at you when you called him cassidy/mccree like, nooo, this was wayyy before overwatch
None of these characters 17:54 are related to or have anything to do with the skywalker timeline
This is the past (creative liberty and great storytelling)
First and the last one are just gems
If you read the Books it is written at the beginning that it is around 3000 years before the Skywalker Saga; before Vader, before Luke. The Sith you are watching is Darth Malgus who is leading the Sith Empire which had tens of thousands of Sith... long before "the Rule of Two".
your comments in between the vids is just comedy brother, got me subbing and shit :-P
The bald Sith at the beginning of the first trailer is Malgus, the same one as at the end.
lmfao 2:13 and you didnt see none of em
15:20 goosebumps every time.
This game takes place thousands of years before A New Hope, basically a time period everyone is juiced up with force steriods powerful
Someone tell my boy this is thousands of years before Vader 😂 I like his enthusiasm tho
Vader was I believe inspired by Malgus, or Sidious has Malgus' in mind when he made Vaders Armor.
Yup. The Old Republic was about as peak Star Wars as we've ever gotten. Probably will never been anything story-wise this good again.
Good watch, man.
Okay I love it when new fans come to Star Wars but the characters he keeps mentioning are thousands of years after what we're watching haha
Drazu, "I thought that was Vader..."
Me, these guys would take Vader's lunch money and leave him in a ditch."
Since you mentioned McCree/Cassidy, you may be interested to know that "shorty" has the same voice actress as Ashe (Jennifer Hale).
This game took place 3600 years ago before the movies
This is the old repulic, thousands of years before Vader and all others. It's just another cycle, as the universe hase always gone.
These short trailers are better than the recent movies imo...
"Vader and Anakin are NOT the same person."
Yeah, he's 100% a true fanboy now. 😁
The Sith's name is Darth Malgus, and this was 3000 years before Vader was born.
The Sith got better drip, usually why I chose them in most games
Emperor Valkorian Aka Darth Tenebrae “The Sith Emperor” is the father of the twin sons and daughter. That is why they are ultra powerful as fuck. The Bald Sith Lord is Darth Malgus. One of the most powerful sith lords to ever live. He brought the Republic and Jedi to their knees.
You deserve my sub I'd like to see you play this game
Knowing the 5% or less lore and coming to the old republic thinking that only era is the Vader.
Malgus is the man.
Real Star Wars😎😎😎
