I'm an adult services librarian in a public library. I have to do a minimum of 2 programs per month, but I would do more if I could figure out how to delivery nonclinical art therapy as a library program to my patrons. This is helpful information. Thank you.

Thank you so much for making this. I been wanting to get into non clinical art therapy without knowing the name. I was worried about the diagnosis part because I didn’t want to cross any lines with the state. Thank you again

Great video. In uk we address this as wellness or therapy.

How to become an art therapist Thanks!

Non clinical art therapy = not art therapy
An art therapist can work in non clinical ways and it’s still art therapy in same way that recreational art activities can be delivered in a clinical setting. I think it can be very confusing and different guidelines around the world but bottom line for me is if yer not an art therapist then it’s not art therapy

Art is therapeutic in itself. However, in the above video she explains very well the difference between clinical art therapy and non-clinical art therapy. Clinical art therapy can be used by psychologists as an 'alternative medical treatment' to treat mental illness, while non-clinical art therapy can be an alternative direction for artists who use 'Art as a Therapy' to support the mental well-being of other people who do not suffer from diagnosed mental illness. In essence, however, art can be therapeutic for everyone.
One thing is certain, that those who use art therapy as an alternative therapy, they love art, psychology and most importantly to care for and help people.
