By taking apart our surpluses nuclear weapons we are able to harvest the material inside and feed it to them. Because Of their foods course they don’t need to eat for a year or more. Truly a wonderful oddity if the natural world.

You do know that noisemakers make noise - they are to create decoys for other submarines' passive sonar. You shouldn't hide in that area because all of the enemy torps will go there.
one time i was loading into a sim game and i got a screenshot of the options page with a depth charge timer thingy so planes with depth charges is pretty much implied
Narrow ETT they dont have sonar either or at the very least GOOD sonar everything would be sight based and sb would be TERRIFYING. Just sitting in your sub waitin to see if a destroyer picked you up on sonar fuck the supense would kill me lol
shane_2332 the British would have radar, mostly because they created it. Not sure if it was used on subs, bit if was used on other sea going vessels my guess it's that it was used on subs. If they didn't have any assistance it would be harder and balance it out if they were to go on with war ships, and need a very good player to pilot it had decent.
Well of course there is not going to be radar guided torpedoes. However it may take extreme skill to Launch a non guided torpedo don't know how this will work in War Thunder.

This is almost like an entirely new game. Not the point-and-click shooter the past two modes have been, but a new dimension of gameplay. It's so atmospheric, the emptiness of the deep, it might even trigger a fear of the empty ocean. I am excited for the direction they'll be going for this. Imagine when this gameplay is paired with vehicles: ship depth charges and anti-sub planes. Torpedo planes might have an incentive now.
Theres nothing empty about Gaijoob's shit new game mode. You have 5+ other friendly subs farting about, torpedo spam everywhere, and most people use active sonar and charge ahead at flank speed. Not to mention, the torpedos are useless in homing mode so you may as well only use remote guidance. I played 4 battles this morning, and ALL of my torpedos I launched hit their targets, most of which were outright killed. Meanwhile, I was never even hit once. The only damage I took was when a friendly sub pushed me into the sea bed because he wasn't watching where he was going... This new game mode is borning, broken, and trash. Submarines are the LAST thing WT needs added...

they're putting so much work into these new april fools concepts, it's sad to not see any of that in the actual game after all these years. And I seriously feel like most, if not all of them were actually pretty nicely made and considerable to put into the actual game with a few tweaks.
Devil's advocate here - What if the torpedo mechanics are just a smokescreen for the REAL coming feature - guided missiles ? They do look similar - guided vs self homing, noisemakers vs flares/chaff, passive vs active homing. It certainly would make high tier play a LOT more exciting !
The point of the noise maker is to keep moving and drop that and leave it behind. You’re only giving away your position by dropping it and sitting there beside it.

Sonar works identically to radar, they just use different waves and it even references missiles in the tooltips when you are using the torpedoes which have self guidance.

Problem with WW2 subs is that they're either horribly vulnerable on the surface or cripplingly slow submerged. They could work in a convoy escort mode but an open sea battle is really not their place. Cold war and onwards though gets fun. If not for surface ships so much.

Problem with WW2 subs is that they're either horribly vulnerable on the surface or cripplingly slow submerged. They could work in a convoy escort mode but an open sea battle is really not their place.
Cold war and onwards though gets fun. If not for surface ships so much.
