This really makes me wonder how TBLF would do in Cold Waters should that game get co-op or multiplayer. That would be a sight to behold.

Bo fires a torpedo. It locks onto and sinks Coby. The explosion gives their position away. While they're fighting, 30 torpedo kill Loli. Bear is 30 kilometers behind, still trying to figure out the controls.

One thing to know: don't touch your mouse, use only the keyboard to move your sub. tis then much simpler to control. Use the mouse only to move the torps.
Nah, it's easy.
I prefer the playstyle of the british subs over the american and soviet ones though.
Just go full speed ahead till the red circle is approaching the same distance from their spawn location as you are from your own (and try to sail somewhere they don't expect you to), then slow down to keep the red circle from overlapping any area where you think they might be.
After a while you go to the slowest possible speed and move to one of the sniping positions on the map, launching torpedoes using the torpedoes active sonar instead of the subs to identify where possible threaths are and taking them out.
Once you're in the sniping position just do what Bo did and kill all engine power, the british subs are *very* hard to pick up with passive sonars once they're stationary.
Just make sure you don't launch any torpedoes while there's any enemy ones nearby as that might give away your position.
To navigte use W to increase forward speed or decrease backwards speed, S to increase backwards speed or decrease forward speed.
A and D turn you left and right respectivly if you need to make a hard turn to one of the sides.
Q and E are down and up respectivly if you need to make a hard turn or go up or down without moving forwards or backwards.
The mouse is used for regular turning that's not as hard but that don't slow you down as much.
G is counter measures, think of it as smoke being dropped where you where.
It doesn't make you invisible but you can move around within the round circle while being hard to pick up on sonars even active sonar.
But they'll know *exactly* where you dropped the counter measure.
V is active sonar, I don't use it with the british subs at all to be honest.
F is the active sonar on the torpedos, turn it on when you think you're close to the enemy subs just for a moment to pick them up, then turn it off again till you're close then turn it on as you move in for the kill so the torpedo may do its last bit of active searching for stuff before it's blown up (in other words helping your team mates find more targets), also it increases the chance that you actually hit spot on as the sub might end up vanishing before your eyes just as you're about to strike if you don't got it on...
7 and 8 respectivly are various types of sub repairs.
Anyway, I had 8 kills earlier today in a couple of matches.

Things you should know.. The Red circle on your minimap is the range in which the enemies can detect you (This circle grows when you move, faster you move the bigger the circle is, and the circle grows when you fire a torpedo) (Also The red circle becomes max size when you activate sonar)... The Green circle is something i still haven't figured out yet...
More you should know Active Sonar on your torpedoes gives away your position So you can see the enemy subs with your torpedo but they can see it coming in, meaning they can avoid it
Got a small lecture form my dad about submarines (he is a veteran who served on subs) kinda kewl. I hope this doesn’t go away and is released as a full game or as another section in warthunder
How does Gaijin manage to make an entire new vehicle type for one little prank, yet every major update only has a few more tanks and planes, with the guaranteed broken premium
"I would not throw U-571 in that category". No love for a underrated submarine movie that I really liked. I know it's not completely historically accurate but I don't care I still love it

Coldwaters is a submarine game that i think you'd enjoy playing either for a video or just for fun in your spare time
This is amazing, I just tried it and I love this new game mode. I only wish it doesn't go away after April.
I will say that my most effective strategy was to stay put near spawn and fire torpedoes and activate their Active Torpedo Sonar and manually shoot torpedoes, from near the sea bed.
I really liked the way Submarines worked in the game, I found that those just being gung ho were the ones which got killed more often than not, I would like to see some more open and big maps

Kinda late, but they’re made to test stuff. Submarines = sensors, helicopter controls, guided missiles (not atgm); 2017’s = modern tanks; 2016 = Ships physics/gameplay;The other 3 jokes weren’t that complex hut fun nonetheless
The past couple April fools events have been phenomenally well-done. The mechs, the modern tanks, and now subs... Props to Gaijin for really putting in the effort here.
Suggestion to have Bo and gang play Battlestations or Silent Hunter.

I spent the entire video screaming "Slow Down!" at my screen.
Quick tips 1 slow speed to 1/3 to decease detection from your engines, 2 use the q and e buttons to go up and down the Russians and British are more dependent on the mouse than the Virginia 3 spot the enemy before they spot you (use passive instead of active sonar) and doing quick maneuvering will save you your ship a lot. Trust me I have leaned all of this during the first day.
Our family can quote the hell out of Down Periscope. Seen it hundreds of times. NEVER gets old.
Hey bo, that "G" button is for a noise maker, it's a torpedo counter measure, it's basically a sonar james but for torpedoes

I am now very disappointed that he has never seen the Hunt for Red October.
My favorite submarine movie is Run Silent Run Deep. For one thing it was filmed using a balao class sub and the USS Kidd makes an appearance. Also it stars Clark Gable.

When I played with this, I used real life tactics like passive sonar and not active sonar, 1/4 ahead, using the rocks as a sound shield, and killing dumb players who either doesn’t know what they were doing, keeping active sonar on and finding them through firing the torpedo and seeing it and guiding it to the enemy

As a German I have to defend Das Boot (the boat) as the best U-boat movie of all time. And every time a friend of mine and I play this gamemode we yell Das Boot quotes at ech other.

You want to keep the red area small as possible to reduce detection, The slower you go the smaller it is. I have no idea what does the green one mean. when you see a torpedo headed your way dive if the torpedo is above you and rise if it's below you, Torpedos has a very bad submerging capability, hover then turn really well surprisingly. If you see any torpedos (The one with red) don't shoot because it will increase your detection radius. Noisemaker is useless, they only reveal your general area. Im pretty sure this is accrute
Im 100% sure they will add submarines to sea battles in the future. Like u boats and stuff.
I hope this actually means we'll be getting subs in the naval branch at some point.

Great all they need to do now is introduce guided missiles into the air battles that can be guided like the torps and I would make a comeback to War thunder.

Super cool but boring after an hour *HOPEFULLY* it’s disguised as a test for homing/lock-on missiles because if you press R you can change it to homing
