I've owned my QPV GT S for almost 2 years, use it as a daily driver and have yet to encounter any meaningful or expensive issues. Get a pre-purchase inspection, go into ownership with your eyes open and take the plunge... don't be put off by the generic 'Oh it's Italian, run for the hills'. The aural experience is unrivalled, the practicality is amazing... and you'll unlikely see another on the road, only about 60 of these GT S editions found themselves in the UK. Automotive Perfection the GT S is most certainly not... but what this is, is Flawed Brilliance.

Great Video that does the car justice. I recently sold my own beloved Maserati Quattroport Sport GTS. It was a perfect family car and my daily driver. I miss it every day! But I didn't want to bring a RHD from the UK to my new home in Spain. Great memories. It's a car that everyone loves, you get waves and smiles as it is not 'flash' and can hear it coming from a mile away. You can cruise at 99mph at under 3000 rpm. It has plenty of rear legroom for 2 growing teenagers. You can also fit 4 carry on cases in the boot. I never had an issue in my ownership regarding reliability. I put on 10,000 miles in a year and loved every one of them! It does eat tyres though. I also had to replace all of the brake pads and discs which was a tad pricy, but that is wear and tear. The only people that resent it are the 'Daily Mail readers' who drive Audi's, BMW's and Benz's who would love one but rather than be pleased for you and your success they hate you with envy as they are no longer the most superior car on the road. If you can, buy one. Prices of Sport GTS' have been on the climb ever since the Harrys Garage review in Dec 2019 but £30-£35k for a super-saloon that is essentially a 4 door Ferrari.

“Yes.” One of the happiest days of my life.

It's because they don't have the brand kudos and they are saloons. Ferrari parts are also expensive, but you can't pick them up for the price of a Dacia. 95% or more would not notice this drive past - so its no good at being flashy.

Quattroporte was always a poster car for me growing up. I hope I'll pick up a cheap example one day. A friend of mine bought a part ex 535d off a used maserati specialist, and he said that the chassis on this was disappointing and that the gransport was a much better car. But that's not enough to put me off this gorgeous machine.

Hm, I think I saw one of these in the basement car park of my apartment. I thought I took a photo of it but all I have is the registration plate. But looking that up only tells me the manufacturer, not the model.
Also: GPS can take 30-90 minutes to obtain a location the very first time it’s run in a long time. I suspect that’s what’s happened here. There’s no reason an old GPS shouldn’t be able to decode the signal. But it can take a while for enough satellites to pass by its orbit the first time. Next time it remembers where it was at and uses that to start narrowing things down before the first satellite. (Unless you were referring to old map data predating the road?)

@@sjb3460 I hear you, I do - same goes for Beamers to a certain extent - definitely need more maintenance and money spending than would a Japanese car, for example... however, that proper care you speak of, for a Maserati, is going to be astronomically expensive... it’s supercar territory... and I don’t know if they’ll hold their value as much as other luxury car brands... but they are simply stunning - that sort of supercar/luxury saloon cross-over... looks wise they are No. 1 for me - but it’s a folly, a guilty pleasure, a rich man’s toy!
