  • Yoga provides us the tools for getting to know who we really are. This journey is about reuniting with your self through regular practice. Through the process of getting to know who you really are, you will find that you need not prioritize the where, or the what, as much.
    You just have to be brave enough to look inside and recognize who it is you see.
    The opportunity is to be who you are and recognize where you are, today.
    The choice is to do it honestly and with kindness.
    In our first practice, we apply this to asana and open up to the postures serving as opportunities to make discoveries.
    We ease in with a powerful practice of observation and recognition.
    This is your longest class of the series, one in which sets the tone.

      Good morning Adriene. Honestly I feel relaxed and going through day one I have really recognized small things that I realized I may have been rushing through (breathing, arm position, etc) it was an amazing way to start my day so i thank you

    I started doing Yoga With Adriene last year. I started with Dedicate and now it's been a year. 365 days of yoga and Adriene you are the best. I live in Syria and things are getting worse and worse everyday here, you've been the light that kept me going and you still are 💜💜💜 I love being in this community and love you so much. You really are my true friend. Thank you for everything you're doing Adriene. I'm so excited for Home 😍 Namaste 🙏🏻

    I'm starting over. was at day 23 (older version) when hospitalized. 2 months later I am ready to start again. 71 years old and find this very helpful for dementia, and regaining strength.
    wish me luck...I love when dog is present.

      Very interesting to see it's helping your dementia! I'm 28 and I've experienced bad brain fog in the past years, almost like early signs of dementia to be honest. I've been a lazy bum in regards to being physical, so this is very motivaton! Super impressed!

      @@tomaswoksepp I just wanted to slowly rebuild strength and found I was not lost in the The Fog for hours after yoga. I can hold plank now 45 seconds and have never been able to do a push up in my life. I also had improved within minutes of taking cbd oil, I am walking a mile a day now, standing straight, sleeping through night. Really touched by nice comments here. (and I started baking again after 3 years not able to follow directions).

    I’m here for those of you who cried today. For those of you who thought for sure you wouldn’t make it to the end of the video. I’m so proud of you for even trying. I’m only 20, but multiple chronic illnesses have torn my body apart, and left me unable to do mostly any of the old Yoga Poses I used to do. I stopped for almost all 2019, the shame I felt that I could barely do a tabletop position without falling and crying in agony made me feel I should just give up. Today however, instead of giving up I was gentle on my body and simply done what Adriene says: Found what felt good. If I can do this, any of you can. I sit here in tears again, yet it is with happiness this time. I look forward to seeing you all on Day 30. Namaste✨

      Good for you, Kim. I am quite a bit older, but have multiple chronic illnesses as well. It can be a challenge. The yoga done by FWFG, as you (and Adriene) said, helps me deal. Oh, and my dogs, they help me deal too. (They say hi to Benji.) Best to you and all else here.

      After months of sedentary lifestyle and body pain due to cancer, I cried during this practice. Partially because my body is so tight, but also because I realize I can do it if I put my mind to it. 21 and cancer free for the time being, I’m remembering that my body still has a long ways to go but yoga is such a comfortable way to regain my strength.

    I've had a very bad day and I went to the mat crying. I was distraught & feeling like I couldn't do this.
    But I lit my favorite candle & I did it. I trusted in myself and now I feel calm. Thank you Adrienne, for reminding me to trust in myself.

    I have to admit it took me a few days to get started, and this was hard for me to get through. I struggle with depression and have times where I'm not motivated to do anything. I wanted to quit five minutes in, and cried out of frustration with myself, but made myself stick it out till the end. And I will be there tomorrow. So thankful to have this community where I know I'm not alone❤️

      I feel your pain. I have a red heeler pup and she either hogs my mat, hovers over me and stares me in the eyes awkwardly or drops slobbery toys on me.

      @@adriftinmidgard back when my dog was alive (bernese mountain dog) she would get jealous whenever I did yoga because I wasn't paying attention to her, so she would either look extremely sad or just straight up come for cuddles no matter what position I was in haha

      When my dog was alive he would just lay quietly by my mat. Now I have a cat that bites my ankles everytime I start to practice.

    Really enjoyed that Adriene. Year 4 for me. I’m now 61. I remember year 1 I couldn’t sit cross legged for that long or that straight. But with every month my body found more movement, and I learned how to breathe.
    Don’t worry if you can’t do everything people! It’s a journey, be kind to yourself! ♥️

    I was "lost" by the end of 2019. I wanted to return to me. When you announced Home, it was fitting. I needed to come back home, come back to me. Thank you Adriene.

    I just finished the video and I feel an emotional response from my body. My mind it's kind of shocked, while some tears start to fall. I guess this is a response from my body saying "I'm so glad you're back. I missed you for so long". I did 30 days of yoga in 2016 and then life happened and I completely disconnected from myself. It was a tough day one. I could recognize that my palms, neck, shoulders and lower back were in so much pain, but hopefully this will be the beginning of a wonderful journey. Thank you Adriene, for rescuing me from the outside noise. Namasté.

      I feel similarly. I had a regular yoga practice for 5 years then life happened and it's been 9 years since i've been on a mat regularly. The title Recognize is perfect. It is sad to see how my body has changed from lack of use for this long. I'm not sure when acceptance for where I am at will come in, but I look forward to the journey. Thank you.

      I also sometimes get that emotional response, not from yoga, but from guided meditation from Sarah Blondin. Like, I'm happy I'm doing this and taking care of myself, but tears just keep falling. It's all a part of the process :)

      I am so thankful to hear that I am not alone in this journey. Last Jan I started the challenge day 1 and stuck with it and enjoyed it everyday until April. I had vertigo, dizziness, anxiety from perimenopause. After that I would get on the mat here and there but if I felt dizzy I would stop for a few days. Then the days turned to weeks..... so I was really scared to start today but I am so glad that I did. I am going to take it one day at a time in 2020. Namaste

      I just completed this and I too feel an emotional response. I am so proud of myself for completing it. All those forward folds have stirred up so many feelings. Some of them hurt and some of them are great. It is so important to literally slow down and listen to our bodies. I’m so glad that I have decided to participate in this yoga journey, especially with all of you. ♥️

    2019 didn't end well for me, again with depression... but this yoga journey is a nice guidance for the beginning of 2020. Here in Germany the videos are uploaded early in the morning, perfect way to start the day before heading to work.

    2019 wasn't particularly good for me. I let the others make decisions for me, let them judge who I am and be who they want me to be.
    I decided to change that. I decided to overcome my fears, my insecurities and accept myself, my interests and my destiny. I want to feel whole, strong, powerful. I want to get to know myself all over again. I want to connect my mind with my body

    Best 43:11 I've had since my accident 50+ days ago. I was an avid workout-er/gym goer. Yesterday I went to the store after being home ALL day & felt drained. Yet I had done nothing. Today I decided to at least stretch. As I begin stretching, something said do some yoga. & I found you on YT. I am so glad!!! I look forward to the next 29 days. I needed this today. Thank you!

      Same here! I have a hard time just being, I. Reading this book called love yourself like your life depends on it and there is a helpful part in it where the author practices saying "not useful" to himself while thinking negative thoughts! I use it now it my life and it helps so much for my negative and impatient moments. Good luck to you and Happy New year, I'm starting a bit late with 30 days of yoga but I'm here now!

    Day 1 complete! That was more difficult than I thought it would be. Sometimes the really slow practices are harder than the fast-paced ones! I have fallen out of my yoga practice (and everything else) over the past few months, so I really needed this. It felt good to come back to the mat. I feel like getting back to a regular yoga practice is the foundation to getting back on track with everything else. Thank you, Adriene. This might just be the thing that finally gets me out of my rut :)

    my partner and I are doing this home series together and day one was already filled with laughs, ouches, and connections! "you good over there?" "yeah im just RECOGNIZIN these hips are sore" 😂💗 also I'm about 19 weeks along and I felt one of the strongest kicks from our baby boy I've felt so far at the beginning of the video. we had to pause it to cry real quick. thank you for creating these adriene! you're a gift and Benji is a rockstar! till tomorrow! 😉

    Got up really early to do this today and for a moment thought I would try something new and follow Benjis example instead of Adrienes...
    (just lay on my side and watch)
    In the end, I went along with Adriene, like I have for the last four years and welcomed that old familiar feeling of a fresh start, a reset after a busy year and, oddly, a feeling of coming "home". Thank you so much.

    You never know why the universe brought you to yoga. I joined Adrian in December of 2018. I took stock of my balance and grew and grew. In August of 2019, I lost all my balance. I took stock and couldn't improve. I asked why. I worsened and my body wouldn't allow any pose that required balance. I went to see a doctor because I became confused. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Fast forward to December 2019, my balance is back.
    I reflected on my journey and how lucky I was to have the universe lead me to yoga. The gratitude I feel can not be measured. And thank you doesn't seem to be enough to express my thankfulness. Blessings to all.

    Although I'd made a commitment to myself last month that I would come, I almost hadn't shown up for myself today because I had such a long day and I just wanted to "chill". Then my boyfriend told me I really should just go and do the practice because he knows how healing yoga is for my anxiety, the stress I keep bottling up in my body and the self-love I can't seem to find anywhere except for on the mat. He really is a keeper, isn't he? I'm so glad he told me to, and I'm super glad I came.
    I recognize where I am in my practice, and all the places where my body stores the negative energy my head sends to it. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's practice!

    Starting late and I’m not going to lie, I almost didn’t do it when it said 40 minutes. It’s 11pm here but clicked start and the first few sentences out of your mouth was “by showing up half the battle is won”. Thank you for teaching us to be gentle with ourselves and to just show up. I feel so much better for doing it now. I’m committed to finish this series.

    Day 1 my first 30 days with Adriene. As much as I love her I kept missing her challenges in the past two years. I just was not sure I can commit for a continuous practice. However , I am ready not for a 30 days but I intend to practice for the whole 366 days. I am ready to commit to myself love and to show for me daily. Regarding today’s practice, I had these voices in my back telling me it is a long practice and it might be difficult. I breathed and did it. It went faster than I thought and I feel home already! Thank you, see you tomorrow.

      I’ve been participating in the challenge for a few years now, and can confirm that you’re in for a real treat! Initially, it was a challenge committing my time and focus toward the mat. I didn’t realize my inner strength. But now, my practice is deeply ingrained in my personal fiber, and each day I have the honor of being healthy enough to practice is a priceless gift. I hope you also have positive experience and exceed expectations. 😄

    Started 2019 with yoga every day, but did not continue throughout the whole year. Have had a long time away from the mat now, and could definitely feel the stiffness in my back and chest while stretching. This is going to be such a treat for my body, and it is sooo good to be back doing yoga! Thank you for giving us this great chance to start fresh, Adriene:-)

      Do what you can : ) For me starting in June 2019 I felt I needed to re-group and was able to do yoga once per day with Adriene and as I got stronger twice a day. I do her weekly video release as close to that date as possible. Sometimes I do something from playlists eg fundamentals, or morning, or nighttime... sometimes I randomly select something eg shoulder if I have pain there. This way I have lots of variation on yoga sequences as well as what to fit into variable time slots each day. In addition I track my commitment in a ParticipACTION app which is very encouraging and not competitive. Prior to this level of daily interaction I had been joining Adriene as often as possible in ways possible. However I feel very much better as a result of daily focus, breathing, and stretching. Were it not for Adriene and all the things she does for free I would still not have related to yoga.

    Cranky Old Guy here. The day after I finished Revolution Day 30, I tested positive for covid. That was 3 weeks ago. This was the 3rd time I had covid even after being vaccinated. About 14 months between each episode. Monday I finally felt well enough to get back to "Yoga with Adriene". This time covid took a lot out of me. It took 2 days to get completely trough the program. Today I was able to make it through day 2. I am soooooo glad these programs are here. Thank you Adriene

    Corona is slowly starting to seep into my anxiety, and my dancing classes have been cancelled until April at least, so I made a resolution to myself to come back to yoga. I picked HOME because that's where we'll be for most of the month, haha. Thank you, Adriene, for welcoming me back. The length of the video intimidated me, but I did it anyway, and it feels good.

    I’ve had sciatica for two years. Can’t sleep. Body aches. My shoulders throb. My everything cracks, chest, knees, hips, shoulders, and it hurts. Adrieneeee! My good sis, I did two yoga videos yesterday...she nah crack no more! I bent down....no pain. No pressure. Two videos are equal to 5 chiropractic sessions for me. Bless you.

    "Home is a place we all must find, child. It's not just a place where you eat or sleep. Home is knowing. Knowing your mind, knowing your heart, knowing your courage. If we know ourselves, we're always home, anywhere." (The Wizard of Oz) This practice felt so much like this. Since being off the mat for more than a year due to illness I have not felt at home in my body at all. This practice brought me back, it feels so good to be home. Thank you.

    This was tough for me today. Everything seemed to hurt and I felt nauseous and generally kind of upset that I was feeling so much pain and discomfort at certain points, and had to take child's pose a few times, but I pushed through and I'm so glad I did. I loved the words going along with this practice. Just what I needed to keep me going and remind myself why I'm committing to this process for myself. Thank you so much for the work you create and generously share with us, Adriene. It's so nice knowing I'm practicing alongside so many others.

      @@Julanameredith mine may well not have anything to do with the actual yoga - I'd just been for a hard run and came back to a boiling hot house, and I also have emetophobia so I'm hypersensitive to nausea therefore I get it a lot 😅 though I don't think my stomach is a fan of too much up and down and quick movements in yoga! I hope yours passed really quickly and that you're feeling better now! 😊

    I've been having a hard month and this help me realize how clouded my mind is at the moment. I find it difficult to enjoy things lately and today's practice was no different, but I will keep on showing up for myself because I know I'll feel excited about life again soon. 🌈

    2019 saw a nasty divorce, with no immediate support system where I was located (lots of internet support from friends and family). The end of 2019 brought me back to the east coast and family. And home. Not quite "home" yet in the metaphysical sense but I'm looking forward to getting there. This seems like a good way to start...

    Have been so disconnected in my mind and body lately, I've been aching for re connection for so long now. This 30 day journey came at the most perfect time in my life. I am so excited to start practicing daily again. Right after this practice I journaled about what in my body felt off, what in my mind kept me distracted, how I can flourish and grow.       I’m also going through a tough breakup, and on top of that we’re all in isolation still due to the pandemic and it’s incredibly tough! I cried within the first. 5 or so minutes of the practice and this is my first day of the 30 day journey 🥺

    i’ve wanted to start doing yoga for probably about five or six years, but never had the courage to. today i have completed my first ever yoga practice, and i can’t explain how accomplished i feel. thank you for making it about self love and reflection, rather than something difficult or punishing. i can’t wait to go on this thirty day journey with you :)
