Agent Stone is so well loved by the community that you see many fan depictions of him if he were to appear in the main games. That is an incredible feat that a spin off media is able to accomplish.
To be honest, Sonic's relationship with the Wachowskis is my favorite part of the movies. I hope the movies continue the theme of family in the future. Sonic can go on adventures without leaving the Wachowskis behind. I don't understand why people think Sonic having a legitimate family is a weakness. If anything having a family actually gives Sonic a tangible and relatable thing to fight for. Something I've seen a lot recently is that "Sonic is as free as the wind." If that's true, doesn't that mean he's free from anyone's personal expectations of him? Or said another way he's free to embody many things for many people. To say that Sonic has to be a certain way, doesn't that contradict the idea of him being as "free as the wind?" I'm not trying to disregard anyone's opinions on the movies, but I think the idea that the movie franchise has to become exactly like the games undermines what these movies bring to the table, that being introducing a new audience to the world of Sonic. You'll always have the games and comics for traditional Sonic stories and characters, let the movies be the movies. Additionally let fans of the movies be fans of the movies.
This just made me realize something. The only TRULY free character is Big the Cat because he is always freely living his best life. Meanwhile Sonic burdens himself with the task of defeating Eggman to free everyone else, so that everyone else can live free as the wind.
Tom Wachowski is definitely the definitive human companion for Sonic. He’s so much better than Chris Thorndyke. And Agent Stone is arguably the definitive companion for Eggman so far (we’ll have to see if Sage becomes a recurring character). He’s better than Orbot and Cubot, as well as Bocoe and Decoe from Sonic X.
i'm kinda neutral on chris thorndyke, i don't love him but i don't hate him either, personally my issue with him is that despite the fact he takes up more screentime than sonic, he's kinda just there and doesn't contribute much to alot of the show's storylines which was disappointing since i do think there was potential in the character.
My problem with Stone is that, is a human I would have prefered him as a robot, and also I don't like what people think about the relationship of the two, Stones love Eggman but Eggman doesn't love him is just here for Robotnik's narcissistic complex, to serve him, do his coffee and being is punching-ball
I don’t mind the human characters from the Sonic movies specifically, not the Knuckles TV show. Even with the strange things about the humans, there’s still some charm with them, which isn’t what I can say for the humans in Knuckles. I don’t think these characters should be removed completely from the movies, like I always had a funny idea of Super Observant Carl coming back to draw another picture of Sonic, only for the drawing to be the original Sonic movie design. But they shouldn’t eat too much screen-time. Rachel overstayed her welcome a little bit in Sonic movie 2, but it’s a mild blemish compared to the screen-time and treatment of the human characters from the Knuckles TV show.
The only humans that aren't Insufferable are Tom,Maddie and Agent stone(I don't mention robotnik because he's not an original character made for the movies)
Even then they feel unnecessarily shoved in (except for Agent Stone since he’s more or less sort of a replacement for Orbot and Cubot). Tom and Maddie bring nothing to these movies other than “Sonic has a family!! 🥺” which I don’t think is inherently a bad thing but Sonic’s family is Tails and Knuckles, not generic cop character #5736 and the blank slate of a human that is Maddie. Not to mention the copaganda present in these movies by positioning Tom as a “good cop” (when in reality policing in America (ESPECIALLY in places like Montana) is very oppressive and goes against everything Sonic stands for as a character) but none of y’all seem to ever be ready for that conversation.
Agent Stone is definitely a character I would love to see sticking around. Something about him seems like someone that would avenge Eggman if Jim Carrey were to retire after the third movie. It would just work without having to replace Eggman’s actor. I’d rather see that if he were to retire. Agent Stone, Tom and Maddie are definitely the best ones!
Despite not usually being the most interesting part of many movies, the main humans were surprisingly a lot more interesting and fun to watch than what I have originally expected when watching the sonic movies
I disagree about Rachel. I usually don't like the loud characters but I think her actress actually makes it not only funny, but also well timed and charming. Her meltdown over her Husband being an agent and riding the golf cart were some of the funniest scenes in the movie. Oh and I like the Knuckles series. Fight me.
I agree with you. I think Rachel is funny. I agree that the wedding scenes should have been SHORTER, but I wouldn't want them removed from the movie outright.
I kinda liked Rachael. Yeah, she overstayed her welcome, but I still thought her performance was funny. I haven't seen Knuckles yet, but Wanda Whipple kinda sounds like the worst thing in anything ever.
The new poster of Sonic movie 3 characters shows agent Stone has some purple power gloves. Maybe it could be from mixing the red and blue quills to make purple! sounds so cool!💜
missed oppurtunity to not have the buyer be snivley, but then again "missed oppurtunity" is the wade wipple show's middle name. and yeah i agree agent stone is the highlight of the human cast, not even a contest, i doubt it would happen but i honestly wouldn't mind seeing stone appear in the games.
Stone and Walters are technically OCs but they are in roles that any Sonic universe should have filled out. We need a GUN Commander and an Egg Lackey. To be honest as much as I adore Towers, I do kinda like the idea of the GUN Commander being a role that can be shifted as needed to give each universe their own tone. It had basically always worked that way for the Egg Lackey.
Poor Wade, he was made a disservice with the Knuckles show :') Alongside movies or media that put comedic relief characters in the main role, I always think of Timon And Pumba. Good writing that knows how to make it work can truly go a long way. My favorite have to be Tom and Maddie, as a pack, they're highly likeable and make for a precious family dynamic with Team Sonic. You're right, eventually we'll have to move on and I've known that from the start, but having had this in the first place is still insane to me; SEGA would never explore these concepts in the games so seeing them be prominent in this universe is just lovely , I adore that the writers had so much leeway thus far. We could've seen more of that fun family dynamic in little shorts before things got more serious aaaa no matter 🤣
I honestly think Sonic can still go on these grand adventures without saying goodbye to Tom and Maddie. I've been loving the idea of Sonic having a family, and honestly it's probably my favorite aspect of these films. And the second movie proved that it can work. Tom is my favorite human character that was introduced in the movies.
The humans in the Sonic movies are this generation’s equivalent to the Freedom Fighters. Original aspects in a Sonic adaptation that play a part in its identity , both have their hardcore defenders and detractors.
Well I personally like Rachel. I think she has great potential, she just had the misfortune of being only in scenes that break up the pacing of the movies. I’m hoping that in Sonic 3 that Rachel will get more character development, especially since it looks like she might end up joining GUN. At least for Sonic 3 (My money is that after they find out about what GUN did to the Robotnik family, Tom, Rachel, and Randal all quit GUN in protest.).

Honestly, I really like the human characters in these movies. I think a good compromise to get more Sonic characters involved would be to essentially pull a Sonic X with this universe.
I really love Tom (donut lord) he's a great father figure to sonic and is my favorite human character. Loved when he stood up to eggman and even fought him in the first movie when sonic was down. I really hope he doesn't die in the third one
Not gonna lie, when it was first announced, I was pretty sold on the idea of Sonic working with a cop, mainly because it’s just a way better and more interesting idea than sonic being friends with an immature kid for the hundredth time.
You should do a ranking of Eggman/Robotnik lackeys across all iterations. Let's see how Agent Stone stands up when compared to the rest of the franchise.
Rachel is honestly one of my favorites characters in these movies and the wedding scene is awesome. Wanda is disappointing because her actress, Edi Patterson, is fantastic in The Righteous Gemstones (great show! Watch it!). It felt like they just told her to do a PG version of that character without the context or complexity that made her so great in that show
Before I watch your video I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I really like the humans and the Sonic movies in fact the only human I don't like is Wade's sister
Wanda feels exactly like how every bad comedy or kids movies are like now where someone has to ham it up in an over the top way that's too cartoony. Wanda feels straight out of a late 2000s Disney Channel movie. It's like being in a room with that odd person trying to funny and it feels like a whole world of awkwardness. I don't wanna blame Edi Patterson, she can be funny from what I've seen and was legit good in Knives Out. It's not really her fault, I mean she's a horribly written character. Also, yes I feel the Wachowski family should be dropped in later despite how sweet they are as a family. But i feel they need to do a Toy Story 4 and have Sonic say goodbye to his family to go off on his own adventures.
The worst part of Sonic 2 was the entire wedding subplot, and I never wanted a character to die more than Rachel. She exists to be the "loud angry black woman" stereotype and nothing more.
*Wanda Whipple should get her own spinoff show. She is the best character in the entire Sonic Franchise and she should get more scenes with her.. SEGA should rebrand the Sonic Franchise to focus more on Wanda The Human...* (I will not stop f*cking lying.)
... Eh eh ahem... I believe we said ""Every" Human Character In The Sonic Movies Ranked"!... We have totally forgotten all of our favorite mad scientist... ... Dr. Robotnik!!!
@thebrickbros.1294 ... Um... funny... and understood, so apologies on my part... but while I might've missed that, shouldn't these words be in the subtitle as well seeing that such things can be missed otherwise?!!!
Wade and Agent stone are my favorites I think wade and knuckles bond is really nice and the show should have focused on that because as a duo they get along really really well
I agree with the top 3 pretty much. But I do think Randall and Rachel should be higher than most of the Knuckles cast. I genuinely liked Randall's more bro-like performance, even if he didnt do a lot for. I also just like Rachel being a genuine hater, especially in Sonic 2 for very valid reasons. I like her performance, and even if I dont really like loud people, I still like how her loudness is used to amplify her anger when it makes sense
Honestly I am hoping that over the course of the games Eggman’s family is further established. It would be really cool if every year there was a Robotnik family dinner animation. And when I say the whole family I mean it. Give the games agent stone( let Lee voice him) of course the doctor himself. Gerald and Maria cameos. Shadow begrudgingly attends with team dark. Infinite returns. And of course the core egg kids of Sage Metal Sonic Orbot and Cubot
@@yay29823 She's the most important element of Shadow's lore, I don't see any reality where that's not worth exploring in the movie more than Rachel's sub plot. Even the fan film could manage that.
Relax, the director already said Shadow and Maria's story will be the focal point of the movie and the part of the story that's given the most respect and care put into it.
Well, Randel had a poster for the last film as well despite barely being in that film. I think Walters had more screentime then him overall despite not showing up until over halfway throught the movie yet i don't think Walters ever got a poster or even got to show up in any posters for these movies.
I usually stay away from these kinds of videos because it totally ruins my ability to watch the movies and actually enjoy them without over analyzing everything or being upset about small details.
@ChannelPup Fair enough, I can only rlly tolerate it because she's nowhere near as loud as my parents whenever I get in trouble, so I kinda felt nothing about it as I've been through worse with them
I remember really liking Rachel in the first movie, to the point where she was what sold me on being the character to pay attention to as the most understandable for shenanigans (cranked up to 11 with the absurdity of Sonic in her world) making her life difficult. We leave her off with an amused daughter quoting him around her as she's unapologetically tied up for not lending support to a mascot character. Tom and Maddie were obligatory and I just through their quippy fuzzy stand-in roles and Agent Stone was likewise just there to compliment a character I was already set to like. Very unfair and dismissive as character study but this is humans in a Sonic story and I like the character the feels abrasive and halfway meta (like a parent roped into being familiarized with the brand) in a way for it.
Given that the first movie largely owes it's success to listening to feedback, i really hope that Rachel's role gets reduced for the third film. Not trying to hate on the actress, but i never liked the character and i especially hated her wedding shenanigans in the second film for being filler that lasted far too long and felt like it could have been cut rather easilly. No offense to the people who like her, but that romcom stuff just doesn't belong in a Sonic movie.
I know that much, i just hope her screentime is reduced in the sense that we don't get another pointless filler subplot akin to her wedding revenge from the last film.
Being a fan of both Sonic AND Transformers I'll say this Wade's sister is the only human character in this series I would say gets close to being as insufferable as say, Sam's parents in the first three Bay films or Sam's roommate in Revenge of the Fallen (Thank god for Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts and TF One...)
Tbh Agent Stone and the Wachowskies are humans I don't mind seeing in more Sonic projects. Though I agree with you that they might need to take a backseat and focus on the lore.
Honestly if you were stuck in an elevator with the most controversial or hated character in Sonic who would it be? Wanda Whipple or Lanolin the Sheep(IDW) my pick is Lanolin!
To be honest Tom, Maddie, Agent Stone and Commander Walters are the only real important human characters (outside of Robotnik). You can remake the first two movies and remove all other humans and move tails (actual) origin and involvement to the first movie because now there would be time for that I have always felt that both Sonic and Tails origin stories could have been handled in the first movie.
Tom is very good human character in my opinion he is even better than n other human sonic s friend criss from sonic x and agent stone and jim cerry robontik are one of the strongest parts of this movies i would love to see more this new characters in this movies their are very intresting in my opinion
Stone just doesn’t do it for me. I don’t hate the character but his relationship with Eggman is ok ig? Maybe if he had more time to interact with him on screen I’d be more on board but to me he’s just there. I think most of his previous lackeys are more interesting/funny to watch. Maddie’s my favorite. She fits nicely into the universe they’ve set up without her feeling like she’s not doing enough or too much. Tom is also like that too.
Agent Stone is so well loved by the community that you see many fan depictions of him if he were to appear in the main games. That is an incredible feat that a spin off media is able to accomplish.
Yeah he’s honestly the only human that’s not from the games that I genuinely like

Regardless of the rankings, I think we can all agree that Agent Stone deserves to enter the main cannon at this point
Why? What purpose does he serve outside of being lame comic relief?
I like him, but I'm fine with him being dedicated to the films exclusively. Game Eggman already has Orbot,Cubot, Metal Sonic, and Sage.
How I rank humans (all humans are losers, I wish they never built this much if a society)😓
Still Agent Stone will look great in the main cannon

I don't care what anybody says Rachel is hilarious and the wedding scene had me rolling
Before I watch your video I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I really like the humans and the Sonic movies in fact the only human I don't like is Wade's sister
Nice Soap Shoes😃
And unlike in Toy Story 4, that would be a goodbye I could get behind.
I'd like to see the Commander in the Shadow movie (if they make it).
SEGA should rebrand the Sonic Franchise to focus more on Wanda The Human...*
(I will not stop f*cking lying.)
... Eh eh ahem... I believe we said ""Every" Human Character In The Sonic Movies Ranked"!... We have totally forgotten all of our favorite mad scientist...
... Dr. Robotnik!!!
Eh ahem, I also believe he said that doctor robotnik doesn’t count because he’s a game character. Did you not Wach the video or something
@thebrickbros.1294 ... Um... funny... and understood, so apologies on my part... but while I might've missed that, shouldn't these words be in the subtitle as well seeing that such things can be missed otherwise?!!!
@@anricquet that’s ok I hope I didn’t sound too harsh, I was kind of going for more of a joke vibe.
Wade and Agent stone are my favorites
I think wade and knuckles bond is really nice and the show should have focused on that because as a duo they get along really really well
I agree with the top 3 pretty much.
Pup you forgot about that weird child whats her place.
The fact Randall and Rachel have movie posters and Maria doesn't tells me we aren't getting the Shadow movie we want.
To be fair, Maria is more of a backstory to Shadow than her own character, at least if we're trying to introduce his story to the audience
@@Dante-k4c I hope that's true, but I'm just going by evidence we've actually seen. I'll be thrilled if that's not the case.
I love this list
I usually stay away from these kinds of videos because it totally ruins my ability to watch the movies and actually enjoy them without over analyzing everything or being upset about small details.
Tbh, Rachel being loud in the 2nd movie is understandable as she was catfished
Oh for real, it's absolutely understandable.
... doesn't mean I wanna hear it though.
My favorite human characters are Tom, Maddie, Commander Walters, and Agent Stone. My LEAST favorite would probably be Wade, Rachel, and Randall.
The Shabbat episode in the Sonic series is my favorite PURELY because of Wendy so. Like. Yeah, haha
She’s now working for gun
I know that much, i just hope her screentime is reduced in the sense that we don't get another pointless filler subplot akin to her wedding revenge from the last film.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
I still say Commander Walters is Abe Towers equivalent.
I wanna point out the critics ranked Knuckles higher than both Sonic movies
Being a fan of both Sonic AND Transformers I'll say this
Wade's sister is the only human character in this series I would say gets close to being as insufferable as say, Sam's parents in the first three Bay films or Sam's roommate in Revenge of the Fallen
(Thank god for Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts and TF One...)
I feel like Wanda could have been a lot better if she was just toned down only a tiny bit.
Tbh Agent Stone and the Wachowskies are humans I don't mind seeing in more Sonic projects. Though I agree with you that they might need to take a backseat and focus on the lore.
Agent stone deserves to be the new main human villain continuing after robotnik in sonic 3
If they DID make a G.U.N spin-off, it would be like or inspired by Secret Invasion (Marvel)
i'mma just say it.
i think maddie and tom are sonic's best parents and i want a agent stone type charater in the games.
Cries in Chris Thorndike
The humans are actually somewhat consistently funny in these movies l, unlike Sonic himself usually.
Wachowskis and stone are the best in my opinion, Tom and Maddy are like the movie equivalent of uncle chuck and I do love me some eggman lakeis
Agent Wiloby reminds me of that lady villain from the Paddington movie, but not as intimidating 🙄
Honestly if you were stuck in an elevator with the most controversial or hated character in Sonic who would it be?
Wanda Whipple or Lanolin the Sheep(IDW)
my pick is Lanolin!
I choose Lanolin 1000%.
Wait, Lanolin was hated? I didn't know that.
Just don't make it a tier list. You can only fit so many characters in the trash tier.
Wade whipple s teir
inb4 Sonic 3 completely flips the list 😂
To be honest Tom, Maddie, Agent Stone and Commander Walters are the only real important human characters (outside of Robotnik). You can remake the first two movies and remove all other humans and move tails (actual) origin and involvement to the first movie because now there would be time for that
I have always felt that both Sonic and Tails origin stories could have been handled in the first movie.
Now, this is a take I can get behind.
I wish agent stone would appear in the games.
Before video I am questioning are we including Ivo Robotnik/Eggman........ok that makes sense
I would switch Tom & Wanda
Just kidding, switch Tom & Stone.
Remember sonic fans you wanted this so no complaining
I thought Wanda was a so bad its funny kind of situation.
I agreed with you
The best humans are agent stone and WADE (plus Tom)
Tom is very good human character in my opinion he is even better than n other human sonic s friend criss from sonic x and agent stone and jim cerry robontik are one of the strongest parts of this movies i would love to see
more this new characters in this movies their are very intresting in my opinion
Stone just doesn’t do it for me. I don’t hate the character but his relationship with Eggman is ok ig? Maybe if he had more time to interact with him on screen I’d be more on board but to me he’s just there. I think most of his previous lackeys are more interesting/funny to watch.
Maddie’s my favorite. She fits nicely into the universe they’ve set up without her feeling like she’s not doing enough or too much. Tom is also like that too.
