    Getting the basics shooting for takedowns in wrestling or Jiu jitsu isn’t easy. A lot of your shot is in the timing. However there is a lot that we can do as far as developing our footwork to make your wrestling shot quick, effective, and safe.

    Next time you do a technique like this, can you just add you doing it 5 times at full speed at the end? It would really help. Thank you.

    Sir this was extremely helpful. I am a college wrestler that relied on oly upper body takedowns because I couldn't shoot off of a right leg lead stance due to a knee injury, i hit my first correct shot of my life with this, and I need to switch to a left leg lead to do it.

    Well demonstrated. Lower level, small step forward, drive off back leg, turn the corner, drive across. Well done! Been wrestling my entire life and lotsm of bjj guys miss these critically important details. Not this guy. This is how it's done. Master it.

    Dam im so weak trying this. Thanks for the different angles and repeating it and describing it well. The reason this works is because they outlaw crushing your neck/spine/head from the back isn't it? Looks like in a real fight you would just paralyze someone who does this with a elbow to the back. A knee to the head could really turn bad here. If you could somehow manage it an axe kick or stomp to the back/back of the head would probably end the fight for sure.

    • @TIMETRAVELLERWIM
      @TIMETRAVELLERWIM 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Biggest issue is running into a knee. I don't think anyone is quick enough to time an axe kick to a shot.

    • @bonsaiviking
      @bonsaiviking 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Even under wrestling rules if they know you're shooting they'll stuff or sprawl. It's important to set up the shot with feints or time it when your opponent isn't expecting it. Watch GSP for great setups and Yoel Romero (UFC, not Olympics) for great knee counters.

    • @tylerlynch2796
      @tylerlynch2796 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s hard to time countering a shot especially if your not expecting it best to shoot and Intercepting takedown when someone is coming forward. Jab, cross, wait for their counter, SHOOT!!
