    • @RAGEINYOUTH
      @RAGEINYOUTH ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jerryfathouse2009 its not that hard to understand. Takedowns for example, although theres a degree of technique that goes into it, is harder to perform depending on how much your opponent weighs. If my opponent severely outweighs me by lets say 50 lbs. it will be very hard to perform techniques like a firemans carry. Even a double leg would be distinctively harder. Other combat sports like striking sports are also physical sports that vary depending on weight, but everybody has a punchers chance no matter how big you are. If i can successfully land a punch on your chin that you didnt suspect, even if im 5’2 120 lbs and youre a 6’0 200 lber, you will more than likely go to sleep without me sustaining any damage.

The whole point of weight classes is to avoid a size difference and give an opponent the upper hand just because they’re heavier/stronger

    • @RAGEINYOUTH
      @RAGEINYOUTH ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I see people in the comments saying that if you’re a man and didn’t chose to wrestle growing up then you made a mistake and you’re beta.. I genuinely don’t understand that logic.
    In middle school I did a few years of martial arts which was great. But I stopped to pursue other things. I appreciate combat sports and martial arts even more now as an adult. Jui Jitsu is probably my favorite.
    In high school the toughest guys in the school were probably the wrestlers but also they were all just broken in one way or another. I’m talking straight up mentally and physically unwell youth. Alcoholics, Malnourished, Sleep Deprived, Unstable and definitely struggling to balance the life of a D1 athlete at a high school level.
    Not to say that all wrestlers are crazy or sick or anything bad like that. I just knew that shit was a different lifestyle at the time when I was younger than I didn’t think I was built for. If anything I thought about boxing or kick boxing.

      @@compilecodebug6430 That's because these are high caliber mma fighters in general, with the striking fundamentals covered. It's a bit different if you're talking about a wrestler vs a kickboxer in a street fight, and both of them are pretty much completely unfamiliar with the other guy's game. Much more even of a matchup, because the wrestler can get caught more easily. The "puncher's chance" of getting a "lucky" shot, is higher.

Most men have zero training they think because they have been in street fights they can fight. Well when that street fighter meets that wrestler who trains daily and is highly skilled at what he does. Also the wrestler can strike just like any average guy so the street fighter has no upper hand. Street fighters are usly just bullies. This ends with one slipped punch and a double leg to the neck.
