dude....thank you. I've been paralyzed with cold calling fear and my productivity suffers because of it. this is the first video that didn't just basically say "get over it" and actually helped me change my mindset. 90% of my fear is in my head.
Patrick, software engineer here. Just stumbled upon your videos and I really appreciate your perspective and positivity. I just built a SaaS and your tips are helping me build a sales plan for myself and my affiliates. I’ve been listening to sales trainers on TH-cam and it’s very refreshing to have a Sales Channel from a Software person who is not afraid of the phone. I’ve seen so many businesses grow with a good call effort but it’s harder than it looks but you make it simple. Thank you for the insights and positive energy sir
Hi Patrick. In my approach to "cold" calling I always share with others we need to get rid of that phrase "cold" or at least see it in a different light. Whether we do this face to face in businesses or calling on the phone, if we are warm, friendly and sincere and valuing their time then that goes a long way in a "yes" from them to share with them what we offer. Sure we need to contact great numbers of people in the course of our business life and sort through many of them, but we need to be consistent in this approach and it absolutely works for me in my air and surface purification business which so needed in these times.
Hi Patrick, thanks for putting this video out there. It helped motovate me at work today. Making cold calls is the only way I make money at my inside sales job but for the last few years I have really been feeiling "burnt out". I find myself procrastinating more and more and it was really helpful to write down and figure out what exactly I am trying to avoid. One peice of advice that I wanted to give for anyone starting out, and this was something I read in a book and it was very helpful to me when I first started calling on people, but what I would do is: during my commute to work in my car, I would have a small battery operated tape recorder and record my self pretending to make calls and saying different things out loud, then I would play it back to see how it sounded. This helped me get comfortable with the oppening conversation, really once you get past those first few seconds its not as scarry. In fact, for my line of work anyway, its best to talk less and listen more. Overview
I have the task of assisting to build out a company's business development program....and it's my first sales job ever. Needless to say, it's been a challenge, but these videos have helped a ton!
Some 13 minutes ago, I dreaded making cold calls. Now, I'm ready af. Someone send some cold call tasks my way, and watch me do miracles. You have to pay me, this goes without saying. Hehe, anyway. Good work, brotherman

This is so great man thank you so much for this! On my own journey, trying to get over my fear of making cold calls so that I can build my business for my family. This is the best video I've found on this. I haven't been able to make a single call, but I actually feel better about it after this video. Hopefully I can just get over it and make it a daily habit!
Hey Patrick. I just want to thank you for this amazing video! I got my real estate license since last August and I haven’t done much with it because I was focused on my 9-5 job for the past year but I finally got the courage to let go my job so I can focus in my real estate career. Every single day I been trying to find a video that can relate to my my fear and also something that will give me a strength that will help me over come them. I stumbled on your video this evening and I’m so happy that I did. Thank you for taking the time to make videos like this!
I'm a sales management software sales reps.. The first call is really scary and I just froze when the prospect pick up the phone. I guess we just have to pull it through and embrace the rejection and consider it is just part of the game... We can do this right!? 💪
@@oneeyedpapi8058 I no longer work there. My sales manager clearly wasn't authentic with his sales approach, came off sleezy at times, ineffective and I absolutely hated it. He couldn't even handle his own data, didn't know how to properly maintain the pipeline, how could he train new reps? Can't hate the guy though, he was a sales manager for some interior company before, and they were rock bottom amateurs. I didn't know shit, but he didn't know how to teach.
Thank you for your video a lot Patrick, just got fire from the company today. Watch almost all your video to get improve my cold call skill~ Hopefully can find a better job lol :)
So this is great advice when you are working as BDR/SDR, or in other words your job. But what about when you are starting a new career and applying for BDR/SDR roles and you know one of the final interview questions is a mock sales call, they might test your confidence/resilience/how to handle a difficult prospect, etc. That is the time to pitch as close to a perfect sales call as possible right? That's kind of when all of the fears do apply. "it's make or break scenario"
I'm not afraid to talk to these people but the problem is im not wanting to pick up the phone and dial the number idk what it is but im severely struggling making the calls and im having a hard time identifying the reason why
That is why it is called cold calling. There are many mistakes they make. Some hides behind an answering machine. There are even most of them that calls late in the night or middle of the night. There are those who initiate a call and could not go straight to a point. In your case, you say you are not afraid to talk to people but not willing to pick up the phone and dial the number. You can't expect a customer to want to get in contact with a random sales person. If you cannot even take the 1st step of initiating a call, you are not fit to be a cold caller. Being afraid to pick up the phone and dial is the same as being afraid to talk to people.
@@JustRenren Once you stop and think about what you want to say after initiating a call, you would already be wasting your client's time. Remember that you are there to gain their trust. The mysterious client is not there to gain your trust. Why do you think it is called cold calling? If you can't even come up with anything to say, your client would already be hanging up on you. They had already be disrespected by so many spammers. You have to proof you are not one of them.
After 3 years of cold calling the cold calls are not scary, but hitting quota and exceeding it are. I'm selling to SMB's, enterprise cold calling may be a little more scary.
Your videos are very helpful. Would be really helpful if you could do a video in relation to a service like construction and facility management in terms of cold calling and business development. If you could. I know you speak a lot about software services. Thanks.

One of my main fear is not knowing if the call didn't go well due to 'How' I said it than to 'What' I said.
try recording your calls and listen back on them
It's also good to practice with others in your close circle and to ask them afterwards how you came over 😊
"This is your lucky day" nice.

My biggest fear is Language barrier, I am from Pakistan speak english well but i dont have American accent.. this thing scares me
your so smooth dude you could polish a turd lol
My fear is calling a litigator and getting sued. If that happens I could lose tens of thousands of dollars.
I get scared because I think my products may be no good even though I have some good reviews.
