I was at this concert in the ninth row. It was awesome! My ears rang for weeks afterwards. We stuck around the stage door when the show was over and not only got a glad-hand from George but hung out with John Lee Hooker and Willie Dixon for a while just sitting in chairs on the sidewalk while they regaled us with tales from the Old Days on a warm summer night. Needless to say, it is still one of the best moments of my life. And we never even asked for an autograph.....

There are new groups out there, but it's not popular in the mainstream so you have to seek it out unfortunately. With that said, rock and blues music will never die, just go underground like it is now, until it gets popular again. Gen Z are bringing back grunge music in the underground now too. Happy search guys, and keep dancing!

fred jeep damn straight, man. The shift in musical standards happened overnight when Nirvana came along. Suddenly you didn’t have to be a true musician to sell mainstream music any more. Gone we’re the days of people that dedicated their entire lives to honing their skill and in came mediocrity and banality as the new bar setting. And electronics are destroying civilization as we know it.

It's original not sampled. It's soul inspiring talent attained through extraordinary dedication not marketing and auto tone. It was delivered to us, unwittingly by some, by a very select few that fought a war against rejection, criticism, and humility that today's instantaneous gratifiers cannot fathom. Otherwise stated. The following generation would not be able to create anything original because any criticism along the way would prompt them to form yet another protected group of PC babies that would curl up in the fetal position and suckle at the teat of victimisom.

The first time I saw George was in 1979 or 80 at the Harvard Square Theater.
It was his second show of the night. We literally had front row seats in this modest sized cool of theater.
It was August and hot as balls. I don't know if the theater didn't have A/C or it was broken but George just sweated his ass of and blew the freaking doors off the place for two freaking hours and it was just amazing!!!
I was a year or two out of high school. I've seen hundreds of great shows with great rock and boys artists and I can only think of a few shows as good as that one was and don't think I can say I've seen one better!!

I saw George at SUNY Geneseo back about this time in the early 80s, I am not sure of the exact date... but this motoring basic rock and roll was about as much fking fun as we can handle back then - without being obnoxious to others just freaking having good fun enjoying our youth. NO reserves and no crap and no fking wars we were the kids of the late seventies that just loved having fun without any preconceived thoughts of the bloody fking status quo MATRIX affecting us. It was the true eye of the storm.

It was great, when my adult children were eight and 12, every time we went out to eat. I asked them what they wanted, and in unison, they said one bourbon, one scotch, and a beer. It was so awesome to see the look on every waitresses face.

It was decades ago - I watched George play close up at John and Peters Place, a very small bar in New Hope PA, dozens of times. George would drive with the band all the up to New Hope from Delaware long before he became famous. When I moved to California I thought that I would never see him again. 20 years later he opened for the Rolling Stones in San Diego.
George was always very warm, greeted me like a good friend and demonstrated humility and generosity of spirit. I sensed that he would make it big someday.

Listened to you guys for years and it's always something to come back to for the realisation that real talent existed . Takes me back to my turbulent although fun times in life , only really regretting that I never got to experience this party live . 👍 This is Authentic real world music for the working Man to escape the grind with , and to this day is matched by no other . Thank you George and the Destroyers for bringing a joyous grin to our faces and in a way , that again , Nobody to this day has achieved in this manner . ❤️👍🇦🇺
