It's not a good choice to change"Learning English from the News" into a podcast version, since there are too many podcasts in this channel....Seeing Neil ,Georgie and others is the soul of this program
Thanks for your question. This is a reversion of News Review. We regularly review and update our programmes to help our audiences improve their English. We’re really excited about our new weekly podcast ‘Learning English from the News’ and we hope you enjoy it!

There was a power surge earlier, and BBC Learning English Town is in a blackout. The people doing the repairs are making gains, but it will be at least tomorrow until electricity is restored. The citizens of BBC Learning English Town are slumping in their chairs now.
I really dig "Learning English from the News"! It's longer so that we can learn more about the news story discussed in the programme! Plus, it uses the music from News Review, which offers a lot of nostalgia!
The gain of the far right is my loss.Having said that I want to talk about the kind of podcast BBC is giving us. It might seem that I'm sucking up the BBC, but considering that we get these podcast and others with people teaching us all types of subjects and all are for free, we should be more than grateful. Sorry, but that's my opinion.
I've been listening to BBC Learning English since 2008. News Review is a fantastic podcast for those who are moving from intermediate to advanced level of English. I'm very happy to see the podcast has again been extended to its original length of 9-10 minutes. But, I also miss the original casual, breezy, conversational video-recorded format of News Review made in the studio (while the two presenters are seated). And one thing I'm definitely glad not to see there anymore is, "Rob's biscuits stealing joke" which was so overused by the script writers and in the end became a cliché. A regular audience finds repetition really unoriginal and boring. Kudos to everyone at BBC Learning English. You're the best! (This includes those who are no longer with you too such as Alice, Callum, and many others).
Hopefully, things will take a turn for the better in Europe, and it will not be more seen as a weak continent by China and Russia, now with far right in power. The far left rulers in Europe have left so much to desire in terms of society, culture, customs etc. etc. etc. By the way, in a healthy democracy, power should change hands from time to time. Thanks a lot. Great as usual!
Oh dear! It seems you're HEADing, HEADfirst, and HEADlong towards a Big Brother Anonymity Teaching English channel." Big Brother is watching you. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. 1984."

No wonder can’t find the new episode in the ‘news review’ playlist, and no matter how many episodes should each playlist contains now only 20 of them are visible…. Noooooooooooo

Yes, this is 'nought'. It's another way to say 'zero' and it's common in British English, especially when we are are talking about decimal points, like '0.3'.

Far better the earlier version, I'm afraid. It was easier to follow the headlines and the explanations.
