That being said...there is a competitive scene out there and most content creators are completely unaware of it. For instance, if you're never seen a missile jet build (NOT the same as a missile boat), you haven't seen the competitive meta. Not a single person is running melee weapons of any kind in the competitive scene and if you're running Wueger's you'll get completely stomped.
I swear that Carla built Rummy's AC wrong as a joke but he took off with it. Dude only has the chainsaw going for him but his arms have -80% melee damage. It couldn't even tickle you even if you were staggered.
For the next person coming here to say "you are using an overpowered melee weapon and you basically replaced zimmers with shoulder explosives", my brother in christ he has 7k AP and 257 speed 😩
yet it only works with the fist stunlocking, you can see he could only land every chainsword charged attack AFTER a fist stunlock. I'm pretty sure From software will nerf/patch out the fist/stunlocking soon in PvP
That's not true at all-you can just go up to them and go straight into the fully charged Chainsaw lol, the punches are just a tiny amount of extra damage
Not to mention that the Morley's are nowhere near as busted as the Zimms. They're much slower, have a warning before they fire, and lock bipeds in place every time they're fired.
@@teffhk You can literally see a guy in the video landing it using the Sweet 16 to stagger instead of going bare handed, so even within the video there is evidence you are wrong. Starting with a punch is less easy to punish on a whiff, so it has it's benefits, but using a Sweet 16 like that guy did is probably the overall better play.
i love rust bucket. this is my fav build you've done. it's thematic, it seems like something a coral-dosed psycho at RaD would pilot, and it is a cheap, cost-effective solution to a lot of very expensive ACs out there. whats not to adore

The melee attack thrust also accounts for how far you lunge.. the kikaku can initiate a melee attack from 148 away and still do full damage. While the gills for example will not only be slower but also travel about 50/60 with its thrust.. I use the kikaku for blades.. but moonlight doesn't care about thrust distance so the gills for moonlight cause you have insane qb recovery. Love your stuff man.. would love to see you make a fight club for melee only AC

I like this build with terminal armor because I am not as good as you, it can be the difference in me successfully getting the stagger or getting killed just before it.
Black and Red are colours of Brotherhood of NOD from Command and Conquer and Cybrans from Supreme Commander, that's my inspiration to create "Black and Red" AC
I've been refining a build called the Kingfisher, it's designed to deliver long-range, max-damage melee and then dodge back to refill the strain meter, the Kokaku lets you just absolutely go full anime speeds if you tune it right, that's why this is so hilarious, it's all slow untill it's not, like Leatherface
This AC build is honestly awesome. I'm that pyscho who runs double barrels and rusted out SKS's and AK's in video games. So this brings a personal joy in my heart of doing the impossible with the bottom of the barrel.
The only thing this is missing is hate mail after the matches. I remember the good old oro hate mail videos of old. Good times. Your melee combo mechs are always pretty cool. Are you planning to do a build with the KARASAWA anytime soon? Landing the charged shot is so satisfying.
I know im late as hell for this but i hope ive honoured this build by playing thru the entire game with just that (Fires of Raven ending for now perhaps ill do others aswell sometime xD) without dying a single time. Love it cheers oro
@@soksocks right now, punches extends the stagger duration, allowing you to get a couple more licks in your target until their AP is low enough for a chainsaw kill.

@@soksocksThe punch stagger extension is absolutely insane. It's the core of this build, letting you get free damage and reset the stagger timing to make landing heavy melee attacks far easier. It's firmly in the exploit class now.
I adore RUST BUCKET, especially how the little guy just. Punches other mechs. It's part of the strategy! And I love how even the junkiest looking mech and most caveman-ass fighting style still looks insanely cool in motion. This game rules. :D
Damn you can't even wait for the chainsaw to start and then assault armor in response because Oro has assault armor and doesn't overheat his punch so the combo starts back up and the chainsaw's already ready to rev again after another two punches
Since you can keep the saw charged and have it ready when the enemy is staggered I would use some weapon instead of the fist in case the spread bazooka isn't enough to stagger I think QB doesn't cancel the charge of the saw, the animation goes away but I think the saw is still charged
It goes away but if you keep holding the charge, it builds back up immediately. People pay too much attention to the animation but if you watch the actual charge gauge it fills up super quickly, this thing is deceptively fast if you know the timing.

Rust Bucket MAX: An updated version of Rust Bucket. By replacing most of the parts with normal BASHO parts, it gains a LOT of AP. Couple that with the TALBOT FCS to assist with mid-range stagger chances and a ZIMMERMAN shotgun cuz why not, and you have a "pile of junk" capable of beating most ACs.
This is the type of mech I imagine a wandering no nonsense master mechanic with genius IQ who prefers fighting upclose put together from parts he found. This guy likes to end fights quickly. Lol
Your stungun comment hurt because its so trueee. Back in the day I got into stunguns (no shield, I'm terrible at shields) as a joke because I wanted to test all the seemingly awful weapons, and felt like omg I just found this weirdly effective tool. and now EVERYONE is running coral+stungun. I hope they get nerfed already so I can go back to using them without feeling like they're a crutch. Thankfully my plasma cannons+las shotguns combo (full schneider as I call it) in wheelchair is certainly not meta. That one can stay pure.

So forgive me if I sound dumb as Ive never played the game, just enjoy watching and AC VI has been all over my feed since it came out.. anyways I feel like the game needs something like advanced dodging where the unit flips and/or spins which would increase evasion but perhaps delay being able to fire and/or lose lock-on aiming for a duration... just seems like dodging is so finicky and I have trouble understanding what exactly makes a good pilot vs just some weapons miss and some do... would also be another way to separate the low AP high mobility builds and everything else.. Either way very cool game and battles are quite the spectacle

from experience of using the Morley on my jailbreak cosplay, it's better to shoot one and kick, which saves the other for another stagger while the first is on cooldown Still having trouble finding a booster that more accuratly feels like the one that is used in the mission
oh, and also apparantly the Kyoriku ( the jammer gun) has a charged state where instead of sending the projectile long, it detonates in the users face, which is fine for dealing with people who are in your face, still deals 0 damage though
I don't know what's worse, the fact that you turned the worst AC parts into an AC killer, or that you are giving enemy pilots a buzzcut with a chainsaw.

To be fair, the 257 speed is less of an issue because he's built around the melee dash cancel as the main approach option.

Only way to make this more threatening is to equip something in the empty hand, then purge it for no apparent reason as you charge in
