I also recommend you to mix in whatever content you have from Jargono (especially the swamps of death tiles) with the Valley of the serpent kings to add more variety and fun when you get to that world. Also highly recommend the serpentmen of Jargono deluxe enemy pack, as it interacts with the enemies of the adventures core set

What a great review! As for your complaints of small loot deck, I recommend you to mix the western set loot and scavenge decks with the ones from the adventures set. This will make them 20-card decks and the cards are different across the sets. For me it was an improvement and I always play it like that. As for the camp items look for klutz card factory, it's a web app that lets you create your own sob cards. I created and printed an entire set of cards for my Trederran strike team camp items and it works great.

Just like with the western ones are you allowed to combine this one with the vikings one

I really like the structured mini campaigns and the camp phase in this and the Valhalla set. Those map tile packs are a must for sure. I’ve added several of my swamps of jargono enemies to this set to increase variety. The Traits cards are cool and I like that they included allies. Also, the minis are very nice in these new sets. 👍👍

Shadows of Brimstone is a very good game, but I got rid of my collection. Shelf space was a major issue, and I don’t like publishers/designers who don’t know when to stop. Flying Frog has this serious problem, and so does the Aeon’s End series (which is also very bloated).

Thanks for the review! I totally agree with you about CTG not including the premium health chips in the game, specially at such price point. But I also understand why they do it. They know most gamers will get the extra stuff and this way, they make more money. Either way, the game is great! Since you are a solo player, I really recommend Hoplomachus Victorum. I like it even more the Remastered.

More than any other reviewer, my list overlap's with yours as i like adventure / RPG games. Mage Knight reminds me of Elden Ring. We overlap on 6 in the top 10. Mage Knight ( I have regular edition), TMB Undertow, Shadow's of Brimstone FoF, Marvel Champions, Arkham LCG, Dune uprising. I would include Ark Nova and DVG leader series. Only games I was not crazy about for solo are JoTL as i don't like controlling 2 characters, and Imperial Assault as I don't think there is much agency and don't like the app. Have also owned and played games like Anachrony, Feast for Odin, Kanban, Paladins West Kingdom. Not crazy about euro's for solo especially when they are beat your own score. Thanks again.

This variant and the official solo are great ways to play.

I like the game but found that you had to game the system. Killing the final enemy of a group ended up punishing you, which was weird. BGG had a solid house rule which allowed each character to regain a card when you killed a group, which worked really well. Small house rule but just enough to encourage you to not game the game.

Ive only just gotten into solo gaming and what i love is that every video recommending good starting solo games all recommend completely different games, which means solo board games are varied with lots of options

Relentless Assault is brutal, every time it comes up it punishes sooo much. As the enemy has so many die and characters in the mid/late game, when it's resolving cards the player is usually already done so you never have anything to react with. Sometimes I just stay online passing with one removal in hand in case it does this so I can save something. A little bit too turtle-y because a lot of times I can't really do anything and I just delayed spending a resource I could have used but better safe than sorry.

(I'm Daniel Walthall) That's so cool to see, I was not expecting that!! And you even mentioned how much you liked the artwork, which just warms my heart, thank you! And I'm biased of course, but I think Jason really did create an addictive and engaging game with Iron Helm! :D
