I get the urge to play this once every couple of years, and I think I have only played the first two missions in all the years I have had it. I always imagine I'm going to play through every scenario and then realize one at a time is enough. It can be brutal. I remember times when I have had huge dice advantages going into combat, only to roll blank faces. It can be very frustrating to know you've played the cards and strategy well and then roll not just very low, but completely ineffectual values. Still, I keep the game because it was a father's day gift, plus I do enjoy how it brings the action to life, and some day I will get to those other missions.
I like the game but found that you had to game the system. Killing the final enemy of a group ended up punishing you, which was weird. BGG had a solid house rule which allowed each character to regain a card when you killed a group, which worked really well. Small house rule but just enough to encourage you to not game the game.

Yeah I did read about that aspect of killing the final enemy. That house rule seems very interesting though!
