This is my second video on the best pedal of 2024, the Acorn Amplifiers' Epstein Didn't Kill Himself!
This is a straightforward video playing the same riff over and over while increasing the fuzz settings.

A solo DFAM can do lots of things with its simple sequencer and patchbay but connecting TWO allows sonic possibilities on the fly that open up this instrument in beautiful ways. Also works for drum patterns and arpeggiators. 😉 So strange to see it praised after going unnoticed since it came out. I got mine for Christmas '81 and it still works perfectly. I can't say I've ever really loved its sounds and it's a VERY limited electric organ but its distinctive organ and vibraphone sounds are inseparable from my youth ! Koala Sampler is a vastly better idea for getting your feet wet than Volca Sample. And it's on your phone or tablet, nothing more to carry. And look how many people used the same T-pain vocal FX. No one but insecure other musicians care whether you're using the same punch FX from the KO2. Go to town with whatever you like.

    • @HiImNathan
      @HiImNathan หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m pretty focused on hardware so can’t speak to Koala but I see it pop up in discussions on Reddit frequently. I know working with an IPAD is a workflow that tons of people vibe with. I myself still love and use my Volca Sample and will continue to offer it as an option to people cause it’s just so fun. Yeah I hear you on the punch in effects. This is just my opinion, but I see them as ear candy-especially when you first get the KOII. After a few months of owning it I basically forgot they were there.

    If the knobs feel loose you might want to check if it has nuts that you have to tightened right there, just like the old car stereos in the 70s

      YUPS, WE USED TO PUT BEER BOTTLE CAPS ON THE END OF THE KNOBS UNTIL COPS STARTED CHARGING FOR OPEN CONTAINERS. WE USED POP TOPS AFTERWARDS NOT AS COOL LOOKING.

    I would have preferred it if you just used the DFAM and Korg SQ1 so I could have seen whats doing what. The DFAM is supposed to be the drummer so why did you need the Drumbrute and other thingey? I would have liked to have seen more depth in how exactly you programmed the SQ1 with the DFAM. Great video though and thank you.

      Hey Peter, thanks for taking time to leave a comment and speak your mind. The SQ-1 in the video was a loaner…I didn’t fully understand its functionality enough to speak on it a ton. I was just trying to demonstrate that an external sequencer really opens up the DFAM. It’s understandable you would want to see more SQ-1 and I will seriously consider a future video focusing on it and the DFAM. The DrumBrute is in there because with it easily handling any bass/snare sounds the DFAM can really go wild. The best way to use the DFAM imo is to have two of them or to use it in conjunction with a regular drum machine.

    I only own Blackhole in software and use it a lot for these kinds of soundbeds, loving it. Good demo, Nathan!

    ... for beginners you recommend the Korg Volca Beats ... but hold up the KV Sampler.

      Yep yep Volca Sample is sick and what I meant to say, Beats is highly unsatisfying and not the most useable.
