    Yeah! This tool is really insane. Producing my very first Blade Runner themed video some weeks ago was a hell of a journey. I enhanced the result with additional sounds and instruments.

    You can get PaulXStretch to output audio in the DAW like a typical plugin. Open Settings and check "Play when host transport running", then press Play in PXS. Nothing will happen, but when you start transport ion the DAW, it will start playing, so you can work as you normally would.

    Nicely done, like a nice long ambient track. Have you ever played with Audacity? Comes with Paul Stretch and you can do some strange sound editing with some of the other tools in the FX section.
    Good luck with the youtube journey.

      Hey Doc, it’s nice to have a veteran gear TH-camr in the comment section of my video, thank you so much! I’ve for sure heard of Audacity but didn’t really know it was still a thing till some other people commented about it. Pretty amazing that PS is built in, do you think I should download it? What other cool stuff does it come with?

    Yes! I’d love to see the DFAM with that mini Eurorack. I’ve only recently dabbled with modular synth. I have an Erica Synth Pico System 3 desktop which I use with an Akai MPK mini Plus. Trying to come up with some kind of workflow alongside my KO 2 and 2 other POs, a PO33 and PO14 sub which I’m using with a delay pedal from TC Electronics. I am looking forward to hearing your album!

    Hey Nathan, I'm curious about that small modular box sitting beside your Moog DFAM? and oh! Portishead! I didn't know that Geoff Barrow is making music for films! Might wanna check that out cos I like Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood's works for films. Downloaded PaulxStretch. i wonder what'll happen if I use it with the Valhalla reverb. Drone zone ahead! 🤣🤣🤣

    • @HiImNathan
      @HiImNathan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you so much for checking out the video! Yeah Geoff is an inspiring musician. He worked on the soundtracks for Annihilation, Ex Machina, and this awesome show called Archive 81 with his writing partner Ben Salisbury.
      The little box is a 'skiff', a Eurorack case that holds unpowered modules. My friend let me borrow it cause the DFAM plays very well with Eurorack and he wants me to get into it! I'm going to be doing a DFAM video soon so stay tuned, that little box will definitely figure into it.
      PaulxStretch and Valhalla absolutely wail together DO IT

    Thanx Nathan -Illuminating video!👀... I'm BIG-TIME into AMBIENT!😇... Been into it since it was called 'Acid Rock' back in the '70's, 'New Age' in the '80's -& 'Ambient' in the mid-'90's!👽 ALWAYS wanted 2 make my own Ambient music -but was ALWAYS too busy workin' & playin' drums (my main instrument) in Prog-Rock/Metal bands... Got my 1st keyboard given 2 me by my 1st guitarist & Jr. High School buddy (& 1st band: 'Mid-Day Moon' -circa 1976), in '82: a Casio CZ-3000 -one of the 1st Digital synthesizers w/ MIDI. Got my 2nd keyboard (1st Analog) w/ MIDI in '85: a Sequential Circuits SixTrak used (almost brand New -it came-out in '84 -STILL have it!😎)... Over the years I did some fiddlin'-around w/them & did some 4-Track recordings (some of which I used in Multimedia Presentations in the early '90's), BUT STILL felt I never reached my FULL potential with regards 2 Ambient & ALWAYS wanted 2 dive a Helluva-Lot DEEPER into it, but alas -was just TOO busy playin' the drums!😕... These days I've amassed quite ALOTTA experimental electronic instruments as of quite recently, which I've yet 2 use as of 3yrs ago, I moved 4-1/2hrs North of where I lived in The BIG City (for 54yrs); Off-Grid WAY UP in the mountains of California somewhere in The Emerald Triangle on 160 acres 2 'Tune-In, Turn-On -& Drop-Out (2 quote Timothy Leary -LOL!)😇. I HAVEN'T as yet gotten around 2 putting it all 2gether tho as I am STILL in the process of building my 9th Studio -I HOPE 2 get it finished within the next 6mos. tho!😐 I CAN'T wait 2 start my 'Journey' into what I call: 'Experimental Electronica'!👽...
    Anyways, thanx 4 the GREAT VIDEO -That got my 'Wheels Turnin'!😎... Subbed 'ALL' -Can't wait 4 Ur NEXT one!😈
    Cheers,
    AEON13👽

      I also grew up playing drums! I'm hoping to do some drum-focused content in the future...I actually broke out my high school Real Feel practice pad two days ago!
      Good luck getting that new studio together. I always say, life is short but music is forever! Don't wait too long to make the music that's been living inside that brain of yours :)
      Thanks so much for watching and I do hope this video helps you create some amazing music.

  • @Interstellore
    @Interstellore 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Usually you get better results if you take something that’s say 5 minutes and head for 30. Otherwise you end up with something that goes beyond a drone or ambient and into meditation music which is not quite the same thing IMHO

    • @HiImNathan
      @HiImNathan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It has a lot of use cases, for sure. I wanted to do something crazy long cause I read that you could theoretically stretch something to be a BILLION YEARS. Not sure if thats true but that was the initial idea that got me interested. Most people will be taking a few minutes of music and washing it out which is super cool too!
