Finding Motivation After Defeat//Back From Hiatus//Realizing My Potential
I broke my knees!
At least that is how it felt. SEVEN Months ago I posted a video about how excited I was to run The Hood To Coast Relay here in Oregon. I had 14 days to train and to go from a runner who's longest run was 3.1 miles to a runner who could run 7 miles. Well... I did it! I completed all three legs of the race (running two) then my knees stopped working.
I have been on a negative self talk spiral since then but, because of encouragement from some of you, I am back. I am ready to put me first again and I am ready to share the good, the bad and the ugly about this Bariatric journey and my decision to have weight loss surgery.
Thank you for sticking with me! You are my hero :)
Thank you for going on this awesome ride with me :) I truly enjoy sharing my experience with you so you have all the knowledge you need in order to make the right decision for you and to be successful in your decision no matter what you choose.

    I am 10 years post op - sleeve and even now, I am still having dumping syndrome and I only recently diagnosed myself due to chronic episodes and several doctors sending me down various paths of IBS and Crohns and Colitis. When it has been post op sleeve surgery the entire time. It is absolutely like you will die and I wonder what would happen if I didn’t make it to food. I’ve fainted twice, years ago. But never connected the dots until the episodes began happening now. Weight is currently 180. Was 400 pre op. Lowest has been 172.5. (Late 30s)

    My daughter is a developmentally delayed young adult who will be having gastric bypass in July, because of digestive abnormalities from a birth defect. She lives with us. I want to provide meals that she will enjoy, that are high protein low sugar, and that the rest of the family will eat too. Sadly, we currently eat the standard American diet and it's a huge jump. I have a huge sweet tooth, Dad is flexible to a point, and little brother is a typical 10 year old with braces. I also work full time. I feel overwhelmed. Any advice?

    Yes my go to is the egg Florentine at Costco‘s. They’re in the freezer I believe it may be 12 or 14 in a box. I don’t remember I have to go get more today. I drink the chocolate protein drinks and now I discovered to make protein ice cream and then ninja creamy and it is awesome. Oh my goodness the creami machine is about $200, but you can look it up and see what I’m speaking of but it is like my go to and it has just really fueled my body and I just feel so much better and I’m back on track I have my surgery and 2021 I didn’t. I’m not doing as best as I probably should have even though I’m not extremely bad but I still need to keep working on it. Oh yeah I do buy that granola just put a little bit of my yogurt just like you said, eat it by itself share it with friends, I just love it I found some salami packs at Aldi they sell or they have little bite-size sausage and cheese. The protein ones I use those for snacks and yeah I add protein powder to my oatmeal for breakfast and those are just some of the little things that I do but yes, thank you for your ad. I followed you for several years and you’re always encouraging. Thank you.

    Hello, so im a little confused because I'm going in for upper GI test and was told not to drink or eat 12 hours before.. i googled what i should expect and all i see is people being put to sleep and putting camera down peoples throat but when i call my doctors office ask asked what should i expected they said i would drink something like a shake and they will take pictures like xrays. Im wondering if this is new technology, or am i just getting someone completely different than everyone else? The receptionist said they wont put any camera inside. So idk.

      @erinbeggs I saw it on youtube, but I just had mine today, and there was no camera.. they gave me that thick gray drink and something else that was foaming and poping in my mouth. It made me gag, and i couldn't breathe.. i felt like I was going to pass out and die. It was scary. I got my results, and I don't understand them, but I think i have Gerd. Such a horrible experience.

    I have had several episodes. The last one was caused by store brand poppy seed dressing that had high fructose corn syrup in it. That one was the worst and I had to go to the hospital because the pain was so bad. Prior to that, I have gotten it from wine and I always get it from pineapple, even in tiny amounts like in bbq sauce. I am 14 years post gastric bypass. The pineapple reactions started prior to my surgery. Ugh... so painful!!

    • @erinbeggs
      @erinbeggs 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Siping pre-op vs. post-op are two different things. Yes, you should practice but post-op your mind is different and your body just does not allow as much as you think. It is surprising how little you will consume the first several weeks. But, by now you know that because my response was so delayed. HA! How are you doing? 5 weeks post op?

      Ah, thank you, MyBobWareham, for that groundbreaking advice straight from the 1950s playbook! If only it were that simple, we could all just 'stop eating' and magically shed the pounds. Unfortunately, weight loss isn't solely about willpower. Bariatric surgery is a medically proven option for those who have struggled with severe obesity and have exhausted other avenues. It's not a decision made lightly, but for many, it's a life-saving intervention. But hey, if you've got a magical willpower potion, feel free to share it with the rest of us mere mortals.

      Hello! I did not have surgery. I wanted to wait until I was at my target weight for at least a year. I have gained some weight back and now need to begin that process of "wait and see if I need the surgery" all over again. I did see a plastic surgeon and my impression is that he just wanted my money. I ultimately decided to wait. I am glad I did because my breasts have filled out more after the malnourished phase of my journey so the type of breast augmentation I would need now vs. 2 years ago is significantly different.

    At the start of your video, I noticed that you are wearing layers, and I wondered if you got cold easily. When you went to your closet, I knew you had a problem with cold. If you were trying to hide something, it would be full of a bunch of sweat suits.

      When I was losing weight at a steady pace I was ALWAYS cold. My body has since balanced itself out.
