Park Jimin (15&) Live vocal range
A new video for the new year. It is the live vocal range for Park Jimin of 15&. This took longer than it could have (I ended up having to start over with different video editing software), however I managed to restart and finish in less than a day.
Notes on Jimin:
I like her and her voice, but I think she can grow more. Between her and Yerin, Jimin has more well-rounded voice. She has access to three different parts of her voice, and while none of them are exactly great, they are not bad either.
Her lower register surprised me the most. She seems comfortable down to G3/G#3, and can handle F#3's well enough. Below that she maintains some tone. I think she can/will go lower when she gets older. There were notes I left out due to time constraints.
Mixed/Belting: This could definitely be better. Once again, due to time constraints, I had to cut a lot of notes. I even had to remove A4-Bb4 notes (which she was mostly resonant on). I'm still iffy about her D5's and Eb5's which don't sound completely bad (especially the Let It Go Eb5 which was done during her most hectic schedule). Above that it is strain. Though her G5's didn't seem all that bad to me.
Head Voice/Falsetto: She mostly uses head voice, but it is still not the best. I wished she would have gone higher. I cut out D5-E5 due to time constraints.
Overall Jimin is a lovely voice who feels new. Sometimes her mix comes off shouty to me (especially early on).
I think her voice has developed some and lost that childish flavor it had (her voice is naturally girly, but it came off very immature in my opinion).
Notes about the video: Time constraints. There was a lot of notes. Jimin has a lot that I didn't put in. In all aspects of her voice. But I have a 15 minute limit, and I don't think Park Jimin necessarily warrants anything over 10 really (she still young). I had to cut a lot out, which left me quickly having to rearrange some notes. The obvious victim is her upper register (head voice and such). I pretty much skimped out on a lot of that (she doesn't go all that high, and I didn't want to have to repeat her Sugar A5 so many times).
Another thing I want to point out is that I did not use many of the K Pop Star videos. I used audio but not videos, not taking a chance on that.
If there is anything wrong please inform me.
Vocal Range: Eb3-A5
Voice Type: Light Lyric Soprano

Park Jimin: Studio Vocal Range (F3-A5)
มุมมอง 3.7K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Finally a new video. This one is...well it is a mess. I had a lot of trouble with it (all technical stuff), and I really think it is my worst one yet. Anyway this is for Park Jimin, of 15&. There are so many issues I got to discuss. First this was supposed to come out maybe a week (at most) after the Yerin video, but I had a lot of problems...I had to start over twice, and I had found out there...
Baek Yerin: Studio Vocal Range (E3-Bb5)
มุมมอง 3.5K10 ปีที่แล้ว
New video! This one is for 15&'s Baek Yerin. Ever since she debuted, I have been into her voice and her styling. Her styling is very R&B and I consider her a rarity in K Pop. While she is not the best, I think she is a smart enough vocalist to understand her limits and be able to work within them. Also she is only 16 so she has all the time in the world to improve. Anyway, this video is rather ...
Hyolyn (Hyorin): Love & Hate vocal range
มุมมอง 2.5K11 ปีที่แล้ว
A new vid! ANd for a budding soloist. Hyolyn (also known as Hyorin by International fans) is one of my favorites from K pop. Starting as the main vocalist (lead singer in Western terms) and leader of her group Sistar, Hyolyn has grown as a vocalist. This year she has seen a great deal of improvements in just a little window of time. However that does not mean she does not have room to improve. ...
Studio Vocal Battle: Terry Ellis vs Beyonce (D3-E6)
มุมมอง 3.6K12 ปีที่แล้ว
New video! And first vocal battle! Alright I decided to do this video on the two Houston natives: Beyonce and Terry Ellis. I choose them simply because they were prominent in their group. Beyonce was/is considered the leader of Destiny's Child. While En Vogue did not have an official leader or centerpiece singer, Terry accumulated the most solos (in group songs, and solo lead songs) out of all ...
Elle Varner: Studio Vocal Range
มุมมอง 1.9K12 ปีที่แล้ว
A new video. It's for Elle Varner's full vocal range in the studio. Well not full, I think I missed a song or two, but I doubt they would have mattered. Anyway, Elle Varner is one of my new favorites. I personally love her voice, it has a distinctive quality to it that helps her stand out. There are a few problems with her voice, like that somewhat forced rasp she has, but it is not that big of...
Vocal Showcase: Beyonce's Ice Cream Truck (C#3-C6)
มุมมอง 2.6K12 ปีที่แล้ว
I have no shame when I say I love this song. Almost any Bey leak/demo/deluxe song is a fave. This song itself has this very mid 2000's R&B summer jam feel to it. I know people use the Bb5's often in their videos, and so I decided to see what else was happening with the song. There is one run that is just so relaxed and lackadaisical to me and it fits the songs laid back nature(near the end). If...
Dawn Robinson: Studio Vocal Range En Vogue
มุมมอง 9K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Re-uploaded just so it can fit the screen! This is on the vocally unique Dawn Robinson, and her spot in En Vogue. There are no vocals that take place from anything else other than from her time as a member of En Vogue. Also the clips used are all from the studio, so it doesn't give a full scope of her abilities (she could possibly go higher, and maybe a little lower). Dawn had such ease in her ...
Eric Benet: Sometimes I Cry mini showcase
มุมมอง 18512 ปีที่แล้ว
I have to admit I love this song. Eric Benet killed it, and the end will forever be one of my favorite vocal moments. I was going to do the whole song, but the ending was much more fun. If there is anything wrong please tell me and I will go check.
JoJo Demonstrate Vocal Showcase
มุมมอง 1.7K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a small thing I did. JoJo came and slayed this track. To be honest I was not feeling her latest tracks, but this has generated a little bit of a fire under me. This song just came out and so far it has received positive reaction. She also sings her lowest note; a B2. Vocal range displayed: B2-A5
