Thank You for commenting. It's kind of rare these days to find an up and coming singer that gets airtime like she does and doesn't have a plain/pretty voice.
Her confidence is a big thing. I remember watching her on the BET live show and that had to be her worst Refill ever, but then a few night later she kills it at this concert. I think she knows not to do that raspy thing because of the strain it adds to her voice, comparing her Only Wanna Give It To You E5's (which she now switches to HV to do), and her E5's in Not Tonight, there is a considerable difference. But in just a year, she has matured a lot vocally. I will send them to you.
I agree. She has not been able to show the ability to phrase and sustain beyond that. She can hit multiple F5's in one song, but they lose tonal quality and the power she had with her E5's. Her E5's in Not Tonight are my favorite from her right now.
I agree on everything you said. I think sometimes it's her confidence too. But I think eventually all her range will be fluid. 1st off, WHERE DID you get these LIVE performances from? Can you please message me them? Like the "Refill" ones. The angles & quality you got.
Well she is a mezzo. I do not think I am knowledgeable enough to tell you if she is a lyric however. She most likely is because her voice lacks the agility and weight of coloratura and dramatic mezzos, respectively. But of course we are not working on a classical aspect so.
Thanks for commenting! I could not find a video where she was not slipping into headvoice or falsetto. It seems to be where she has the most comfort (if that sounds right).
I'm gonna go buy her cd right now.
She has a very unique voice and I love her head voice/ falsetto notes

I think she has some of the best D5-E5's I've ever heard, & I think those are her best belting notes.
The E5's @ 4:00 and 4:17 are everything!

I LOVED the E5's!!! & the F5 on Whit's "Saving All My Love", & the F5's on Frank's "Thinkin Bout You."
elle varner has a vocal range of a soprano or lyric mezzo soprano

@Cxxlmanproductions I completely agree. I don't know what's wrong with the TH-cam commenting system lately, but I had to reply like this.
