Canon Once Made Star Wars Darth Vader Themed Speakers & I Upgraded It! Canon S50 / NEOHIPO BP10
I was on the hunt for some budget-friendly, vintage speakers that could be transformed into a pair of eye-catching, conversation-starting music machines. That's when I stumbled upon these space-aged, sci-fi-styled Wide Imaging Stereo speakers from Canon, the camera company. Despite these having blown drivers, their futuristic design and the low price made them impossible to pass up as a project. I immediately made plans to upgrade them with modern woofers to see just how much potential the Canon S50 Speakers and its WIS technology and cabinet could offer.

    I’m looking for monitor for work. Compare between this and zsus 14 inch. I worry about the brightness of zsus and FHD resolution of this one. If I wanna choose between this two, what would you recommend?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would recommend this one it's plenty bright and colours and contrast are just wow but keep in mind because of the way pixels are usually laid out on a oled a 1080p oled won't be as sharp as a 1080p LCD for text. You can read about this online. This is something I did notice myself, the text is sharp but it looked a bit fuzzy on the oled. Clear type on windows helps with this. Depends on your use case if you intend to use this for a lot of writing get a LCD for anything else the OLED. There's a 4k oled which addresses that but it's much more expensive.

    I had a Samsung Z Fold3 for 2 years withour any issues. After owning this phone for 4 months I opened my main screen and it was similar to this. They covered it under warranty and returned it to me. Less than 2 months later I had the same issue. Again, I've never broken a phone in the past and always take good care of my phones. The durability of the inner screen is extremely poor which is frustrating as the phone itself is amazing.

      My friend ended up buying a honor magic v2 they've had no inner screen issues with that the past 6 months. As for the oneplus it's fixed but hasn't been used since, it's nice they've covered it under warranty I hope they cover it again, the second time and maybe some defeat is what's causing this on a few devices

      @@VrtuhubTech that's good to know, I'll have a look into that phone. I was thinking that I'd have to downgrade to a single screen phone but it's nice to know that there are other alternatives out there. For me, Samsung Z Folds are too slim in the single screen mode so I'll unlikely go back to them despite their solid durability.

    When I modified the Canon S50 years ago, I removed the crossover altogether, and wired the full range drive unit directly to the speaker binding posts. The result was that the sound quality became more transparent, with the ability to turn the volume up louder without the distortion. The 3D imaging was definitely improved.

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You mean the standard woofers the came with the canon S50? I did find it weird why it even had a crossover since it didn't have a dedicated midrange or tweeter. If removing it made it louder maybe it was acting as a waltage limiter. I also didn't know anyone else modified these haha do you still have yours? I'm thinking I could further improve audio quality by getting a crossover with a lower crossover point 3200Khz seems a little high but bumping up the treble and base through a digital equaliser does the trick too

    • @ttrrooyyttrrootteerr
      @ttrrooyyttrrootteerr 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@VrtuhubTechI used the original mid/woofer that came with the speaker. After my mods were done, the S50 did not sound louder than the originals, but it did gain the ability to turn up the volume higher without distortion creeping in. However, I suggest that you try an experiment by linking your new replacement mid/woofer directly to the speaker binding posts. Trust me, you won’t go back.

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ttrrooyyttrrootteerr it won't work for me as my upgraded speaker needs two separate frequencies, so each speaker unit takes four cables. One goes for the lows and mid and the other for the high frequencies but otherwise yeh it makes more sense to just plug it in directly but you obviously risk blowing the speakers if you turn it up too high

      @@VrtuhubTech ok I didn’t realise that you are using a coax drive unit. However, when I used the original mid/woofer, without the circuit board; the power handling was unchanged, and I could turn the volume level up just as high as I could before the mods were done. However, it is important to note that when the original Mid/Woofer was connected directly to the speaker binding posts; it definitely sounded more 3D and Holographic soundstage.

    This one or 13inch OLED? Which one is better for general PC use and console gaming (at 60hz)? I am interested in your opinion as you reviewed both models. On arzopa model I think the lack of cover that will protect the screen when traveling is a huge miss.

      Well they are different screen sizes but if you want something for travel and gaming I'd go for the smaller oled. Both are 1080p but the 13inch oled has insane contract and black levels and having a smaller screen could lead to better battery life aswell. 1080p at 13.3 is alright but you can notice pixels and text won't be as sharp as the QHD panels.

      10Gbps is the theoretical and really just a marketing ploy. Usb has various overheads and only a small part of that 10gbps can be used for data transfer. So in practice the maximum data speed is around 1000mbps. If you want higher you can get upto 3800mbps using a gen 4 40GBps nvme enclosure, which I have reviewed too.

    That model of ssd of that brand has a serious design problem consisting of that it breaks down after a short time of use, the origin of this problem is that the upper thermalpad does not make full contact with the controller and when one is going to install it to the m.2 port it usually bends a little and comes off with the thermalpad, increasing the temperature and of course failure of the device. The solution is to install another 1mm thermalpad on the controller so that it has contact with the heatsink and can cool. In my case I changed the heatsink for one that has a copper heatpipe to help transfer heat and I have not had problems for about 1 year after buying it.

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have noticed this and yeh if you out a little bit of pressure the heatsink disconnects from SSD on one side. Also if you open it up to replace the heatsink or use your own one you void warranty... This makes installing it on certain motherboards that have their own ssd heatsink difficult or impossible unless you are willing to void the warranty

    1:21 the mouse does NOT weigh 54kg. Your desk with everything on it doesn't weigh that. You might weigh close to 54kg though, in that ballpark for sure. Per the specs it weighs 55g, so one thousandth of what you said. But since the specs have it as 55g and you said 54kg, you overstated the weight of the mouse by a factor of 981.8, not a full 1000. Yep, you said it was 982 times heavier than it actually is.

      @@VrtuhubTech I think I have use marks on the corner of my cell phone, the metal casing. Why that are my bunch of keys that occasionally bounce against it when the cell phone is in my bag. Have never dropped the phone. My screen is intact both front and inside. I find this completely over that they are using this as a physical damage to not repair the phone within the warranty period. There is a big difference between physical damage and signs of use. It started with a black dot and then that dot completely stretched out. I also heard a strange sound when opening and closing the phone kind of a crack. Had a Huawei note before it was even bigger than this phone. I usually keep my cell phone for 3 to 4 years because after a while they then start to run slower. Since I couldn't find a follow-up to my Huawei anywhere I switched to a foldable from this brand. A very big disappointment and a big big big mistake. The screen is broken after only 6 months. The worst thing is the customer service. They inspect your cell phone and then they let you know without any explanation where the damage is located, you do not receive a detailed report nor pictures of the so called damage. It is a serious bite in my budget and I have been in discussion with customer service ever since. If you check certain forums on the internet you will find that there are other people displaying the same problem as my cell phone so it is a common known technical defect of this device and they shouldn't sell such a piece of crap to people

I brought this back in November and two others users have told me their OSD looks different and are on the newer firmware. it's possible that this issue with the brightness constantly resetting on restart and game start (without using the additional type C) has been fixed on newer versions. I also bought a 144hz portable monitor from bimawen that only did 60 Hz on HDMI despite claiming to do 120hz over hdmi. Other user feedback on Aliexpress confirm some users have this defect and upon further investigation it seems they loaded a 144Hz, 120Hz and 60Hz profile for DP but only loaded a 60Hz profile over HDMI.
