    The isles of Barra and Vatersay are my favourite place to go on holiday especially as my clan originates from there. They also have nice fresh food and the Barra distillers dark rum is another thing to have there. You can find charcoal on some of the beaches there and quartz on the beaches as well from the lewisian gneiss rocks around the coast. Awesome photographs.

      @deanallanphotography ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Graham - thank you for watching and your comment. The last image is from one raw file - the light was dancing all over the place because of the strong winds and broken clouds - I took a whole bunch of photos and chose the one you saw. Editing was just in Lightroom tweaking the highlights and shadows and then using a couple of radial filters to bring out the differential lighting. All in all, I guess it took me 10 minutes to edit. I only filmed this yesterday so most of my time since has been spent putting the video footage together. Because I learnt my photography craft during the film days, I have been disciplined to get as much done in camera which cuts done editing time in the digital era. Dean

      Hi Charlie - thank you for watching this episode and taking the time to comment - much appreciated. Sometimes I prefer the faster shutter and others the slower. This probably explains why I blend some of my images - to get the best from each shot. Dean

    Nice job mate. Was at both beaches a month back with very similar conditions. Gotta love the colours. I look forward to getting back there again next year. Cheers

      The colours were beautiful especially the water. Hope you got some great shots and enjoy your return trip next year. Dean
